Chapter 283.1. The City Of Ash

Using her secret technique, [Dimensional Flip], Mii-chan entered a mysterious space. She may have exaggerated the arts’ name, but [Dimensional Flip] was undoubtedly powerful.

“Where… am I?”

A sense of weightlessness washed over me as I rolled through a door. The wind tousled my gray hair, making it a mess.

I felt a strong gust against my cheeks, causing my lips to curl.

After stopping my somersault. I looked around and saw a sea of clouds beneath me. Where in the world was I?

“High up?”

My Moo Moo Cow pajamas fluttered, and a chilly breeze surrounded me. Despite the clouds below, the sky was pitch black, devoid of starlight. I wouldn’t have seen a thing if it weren’t for the game’s [Night Vision] mode.

The clouds below were dark and occasionally lit with lightning flashes, accompanied by thunder.

“Why on earth is this happening in the sky? Is this some bug? It must be! Please, patch it!”

Mii-chan screamed and leaped into the sea of clouds. The clouds clung to her like mist as she pushed through the electrifying cloud cover.

My hair stood on end due to the electricity, and her body tingled.

“This isn’t good, Jarngreipr!”

I tried to summon my item box and change her equipment, but.

-Affected by the God Realm-

-Levels have been suppressed-

-Item box is unavailable-

-Skills have been sealed-

-Magic cannot be cast-

“Oooohhhh nooooo!”

She placed my hand on her cheek, becoming a Munch-like Mii-chan. Woah, most of her powers have been sealed.

“This is bad! I should’ve changed my equipment before jumping in!”

I had rushed and ended up in her pajamas—a Holstein cow-themed Moo Moo Cow pajama with a cute cow tail.

“Th-this is embarrassing!”

The ground came into my view as I zoomed through the clouds at breakneck speed.

With the wind howling around me, I spread my limbs and observed the approaching ground.

“Snow? The colors seem strange. And what’s with this destruction?”

The ground below was in ruins. Stone houses stood, mostly buried under what seemed to be snow, rendering them nearly invisible.

Many roofs had been blown off, partially destroyed, or reduced to blackened walls.

In the distance, I saw a building resembling the Parthenon temple, with what appeared to be a goddess statue installed in front of it.

It was likely that this place had once been quite a large city.

But there was no time to dwell on that.

“I-I’m getting closer to the ground!”

Shivering from the cold, she felt her powers severely restricted. Mii-chan would end up flat as a pancake if she continued like this.

“I have no choice but to get serious!”

I thrust my hands forward, and take a deep breath, my expression sharpening. I let the limited magic power I had, restricted by the influence of the God Realm, flow through my body and steeled myself.

“Hiiiyaaa!”

As the ground approached in front of me, I leaned forward.

“Even if my game skills are sealed, Mii-chan has this technique!”

[Somersault]

Just before touching the ground, I planted both hands and rolled forward.

Mii-chan, who had been falling at supersonic speed, converted her fall energy into somersault energy. She rolled like a tire.

I rolled like a massive tire, smashing through houses, breaking pillars, and leaping into what seemed to be the remnants of a fountain. My appearance resembled that of a bowling ball.

With thunderous crashes, I finally stopped and sent the snow swirling into the air.

“Awwh… but I’m glad I trained in somersaulting.”

From amidst the rubble, Mii-chan extended her small hand and crawled unsteadily.

It had been a bit painful, but I had successfully performed a somersault landing. Somersault was truly a versatile technique.

“Huuh?”

My body swayed, and intense pain shot through me. It seemed this was more than just a minor ache. It was a pain I hadn’t felt in a long time.

“Perhaps due to the seal on my powers, I can feel pain now… I’m still far from a perfect somersault.”

I unsteadily walked and held my shoulder. It appeared the path to mastering somersaults was long.

I tried to heal herself by casting a recovery magic, but nothing happened.

“I can’t use recovery magic either…”

No matter how many times I attempted to cast recovery magic, her magic didn’t activate. It seemed both my skills and magic were sealed.

I reached down and picked up some substance around me with a sigh.

“Hmm? This isn’t snow; it’s ash?”

The texture felt strange, and when I rubbed it with my fingers. It turned completely black. Upon closer inspection, it was gray, not white. It was ash.

“Is all of this ash? An ash-covered city?”

Everything around me wasn’t snow but ash. The partially destroyed cityscape was blanketed in white, as if from a heavy snowfall. Could this have been the result of a massive fire?

“These buildings look quite ancient. Where am I? An ancient city?”

All the stone houses were square, like blocks, and most were of the same design, only varying in size.

“I wonder if Tamamo-chan and Haru-kun are here.”

I began to walk down the ashy road with a perplexed expression. I left small footprints behind in the ash.

“Tamamo-chaan, Haru-kuun. Oji-san, Oba-saan!”

I shouted loudly as I walked through the deserted town. My breath turned white, indicating the significant cold in the area.
