Chapter 5: You Can Eat All You Want, But Drinking Blood is Different

Badump. Badump. Badump. 

Xue Lingqiao was awakened by soft heartbeats. Opening his eyes, he looked out the sunny window before glancing back at the woman who was leaning on him in a fetal position. 

“My chest is not a public facility.”

Tian Jingzhi looked up from his chest and pushed her bangs back, revealing a pale, sleep-deprived face.

“Monster Xue, I seem to have found out where the strange heartbeats are coming from.” She pointed to his chest and mysteriously said, “This place will beat at an unsettling rate when we are not in a certain distance.”

Xue Lingqiao pushed Tian Jingzhi's forehead with his finger and retorted, “Because you saved me, our heartbeat frequency is the same. As long as we are within the parameters, we will be able to feel each other’s presence. Too far or too close, then that feeling will not happen.”

“So you feel the same as me?”

“No, I can feel all of your strong emotions, be it irritation, thrill, or passion.”

Tian Jingzhi was excited, “Like telepathy shown in the movies?”

“I rather call it: Mutual restraint”

“So what is the specific parameter distance?”

Xue Lingqiao hesitated, “...I’m not sure since this is the first time this has happened…”

Tian Jingzhi walked to the door of the house, pointed outside, and ordered Xue Lingqiao: “Go there.”
