My Last Hunt

Chapter 30

Headstrong Level One Chaser (part 2)

The chaser was at a loss. He looked at his arm which was slammed on the table and then at the newbie. This scene would always remain in his mind. It was a huge slap to his face.

He could hear everyone in the Guild laughing at him, making mockery of what they had just witnessed. He could not grasp what bad pill had he taken to encounter such humiliation.

Qiao was on the other hand was silent. He was analyzing his observation inside his mind. He was quite satisfied with the results. Being an outsider, he still was able to obtain equal benefits from points and his strength was also equal.

But he knew he could not just rely on this strength solely if he wanted to kill the wicked hunter. He had to find a way, a method that could allow him to be better, stronger than those who were of the same level. This way if he were to face anyone even stronger, he would be able to survive.

He needed to talk with the team leader for further information about this place. Linwin had already shared with him all that he knew.

The team leader was at the second level, he had more experience and knowledge so he could tell him much more.

The defeated chaser just continued to sit where he was with a defeated expression. He did not know whether he should attack the guy in front of him or follow the punishment he had so carelessly proposed.

He wanted to bury into the ground when facing this great embarrassment.

Now Qiao was looking at him with an interested look. He wanted to see what the chaser would decide to do now.

He was not generous enough to let this slide easily, especially when he was not the one who proposed this punishment.

If the world was crook head, he was going to be bull head against it.

"I don't have a whole day to wait on," Qiao reminded him.

The chaser got angry and smashed his fist on the bench and stood up, "You cheated, how can a newbie defeat a level one, you definitely used unhanded means," the chaser started fuming.

Even if he was sentenced to death, he was not willing to lick the muddy shoes of this zero.

Qiao immediately stood up and pointed his shapeless weapon at his neck and threw him back on the ground, "I was not the one who spouted this punishment, you were the one overconfident," he forced on each words and increased the force on his neck.

The chaser was pinned to the ground and his eyes were popping out with the fear.

After a while, Qiao let him go and walked away.

He did not intend to kill this shameless chaser.

"You better not bother any newbies in your life or else I will haunt you till the end," he warned him without turning his head.

A big silence followed after the event was over. There was no more chat, and nor a single friend of this chaser voiced out to stop the newbie for revenge or grudge so the matter was settled when the chaser did not speak further. Instead he looked at the back of this newbie with awe.

….

Qiao came and sat down with the leader. Much time was lost in this mess now so there was no time to ask for the second mission of the day.

"You are quite different. I actually thought you might lose," the team leader smiled.

"Bullies should not be given a free reign no matter how strong they are," Qiao spoke in a plain tone.

"Hah, that is a strong opinion you have. But don't mess with these chasers, they might harm you if they find you alone in the forest," the team leader sincerely gave him advice.

"I will keep it in mind," Qiao answered.

Linwin did not disturb Qiao when he was talking with the leader.

He was determined to follow this brother and hunt the same way and become strong.

Qiao turned to ask, "Is there any place where we can get more information about the hunting and especially weapons," he asked to the team leader.

Both were important, to have a better weapon made the hunt easier, while more information made survival more likely.

He was given no date or a deadline to reach a high level as a hunter, but he could waste no moment. The voice sounded impatient and he felt that he only had a short time.

And short time meant; no time to waste.

If he could get more information, he will be able to better plan how he had to proceed. He would need all and any help he could obtain to make a difference in his strength, to make him better than the average, stronger than his peers.

The wicked hunter was no doubt strong and scheming, he might not be able to defeat him with any fair means so he must have more strength.

"There is a place, a bigger market at the fifth exit of the Middletown. It has a facility to buy any kind of weapon and you can buy information too or get a proper guide," the team leader told him with patience.

Now he could tell that this youth was ambitious and he would not stop until he becomes stronger or whatever has planned to get.

Qiao nodded. The place was around the Middletown, so he didn't need to travel much.

"If you want to learn any skills, you should be at least level two or else it might not be beneficial," the team leader spoke further.

It was his sincere advice. Many ambitious youths usually wanted to become strong in no time and ended up harming their foundations.

To cross initial levels was a lot easier than to cross higher levels.

"I will keep it in mind," Qiao answered, glad to receive the advice.
