My Last Hunt

Chapter 58

Quests: Making A Team (part 11)

War between teams

"So what are we going to do tomorrow?" Linwin sneaked at the glaring team leader and could barely hide his laughter. The way they run away must be surprising for him.

They could notice his frustration overflowing.

"Tomorrow we will use my method, our goal would be to waste the experience of the team leader only. This would be a lesson for others to stay away," Qiao supported himself against the back of the bench and spoke in a relaxed manner.

There was a rule in the twenty first century, if you wanted to control the whole mob, you just have to target the leader and then everything will fall in order.

In the right order…

"This is called killing two birds with one stone, we will be achieving two goals with one act, if I make it bold it would be to kill two flies with one slap, do you get it?" as he was speaking the other two were blank. They could not understand his words clearly but understood the rough summary. By Calling the enemy 'flies' there was no way that they could neglect it now.

The team leader was smarter than they thought.

Qiao was observing all those who were sneaking at them, from this he could tell that just one single team was not eyeing them. There were few more who were probably brewing something in their heads.

If they were really looking for trouble then it was his responsibility to tell them what the real trouble was.

"Brother, then we need your guidance for this holy task," Linwin stood up and bowed to Qiao three times. It showed he was admiring his team leader as his senior and wished to take his guidance for rest of his life.

Quipu looked at this and his brows were twitching.

He was also curious what and how this youth would tackle this many teams at once.

"You just have to follow my steps and you'll know the outcome soon," he stood up and went back to his abode.

He was going to practice at his abode his skills and some other moves to see whether he could do them in time of tense situations.

Next day, they were ready to leave the Guild and do the daily quest and collect experience. There were only three days left in completing the month and it was necessary to do a quest daily for every team.

So they had to leave the Guild and return after the quest and report back here.

"I feel ready to complete the new type of quest that we will perform today," Linwin spoke and cheered up on the fact they would be learning something new from their brother.

"I am also ready to vent out my frustration against bullies," Quipu chuckled.

Today would be little exciting and surprising.

First, they went to the lower part of the forest to look for a hunt, after all they cannot neglect this task. After the quest they would be free and will have plenty of time to play around.

"Keep in mind, the Guild wants us to not lose experience during hunt and thankfully we are not bound about the choice of hunt," Qiao reminded.

They advanced in the forest. Previous day they kept few places in mind to search for the hunt after the experience.

This would help them to not waste much time.

They caught sight of level two monster and immediately hid themselves.

Every team before the hunt observed the monster whether they could hunt it and it was within their means or not.

Was it possible that the monster might run away before they appear around? Would it immediately go on a rampage? They had to take in all the possibilities in mind and make the right plan for the hunt.

Those who neglect such crucial and strong points often face loses.

"Wait the monster is currently very attentive about its surroundings. There is something wrong," Qiao critically observed the monster and spoke in a low voice.

This habitat had an abundance of monsters because it was nearest to the underground lake but currently this monster was alone.

Soon more monster came around the area, quaking the ground. They were fighting with each other and the monster which they thought to hunt was giving tough time to those who came later. But it soon turned into a dangerous place because few more monsters joined in the brawl.

"Retreat," Qiao spoke immediately and they used their fastest pace to retreat. It was not wise to stay there anymore and wait for the hunt.

They retreated to the farthest part where they could no more hear the brawl of the monsters.

They took some quick breaths to calm down.

"Just barely escaped. But I have never witnessed monsters fighting each other," Quipu was perspiring all over as he was the most tense at this moment.

"We were lucky that we did not appear at the scene," Qiao spoke.

"Indeed," Linwin sat on the ground and punched his chest for some breaths.

"Here take some water," Qiao handed a bottle which he did not throw after coming to this world, it was in his leather bag all the time. Linwin observed it first and then gulped the water in one go.

Qiao climbed on a tree to look around. They cannot stay in one place for long.

They have to hunt, there was no choice and if there was some surprise attack, they have to face that too.

Quipu stood alert since Qiao climbed on the tree, while Linwin was sprawled on the ground. He had never run this much in his whole life with the fear of monsters at the back.

It was a miracle that his heart did not stop because of fear.

Qiao carefully observed and came down, "We should head toward the left side of the forest for a hunt," he spoke and got ready.

Linwin heard and stood up, he could understand what could happen if they stayed here for no reason too long. They walked and remained alert.

Qiao handed the responsibility to Quipu for covering from the rear.

He didn't want to end up in another similar situation again either.

...

The three teams were busy at the start of the day too, to finish their quests for the day and after that they then started to search for the newbies.

They lost a chance the previous day but today was their final move. They didn't want the Guild to get the news of any of their underhanded scheme. It would result in them being banned from the Guild and they might not be able to register in any other guild either because this Guild had a reputation among lower level Guilds.

No one will be willing to displease the level seven hunter who was running this office of the Guild in the Middletown.

It would bring real trouble if they got caught, so this would be their last and final attempt today.

They would make this in a way that it would look like the small team was unable to survive against stronger monster and got killed. And they would make sure to finish them.
