My Last Hunt

Chapter 60

Quests: Making A Team (part 13)

War between teams;

The team leader was shocked, scared and angry the most. He almost lost one whole level because of continues attacks despite being a level three before. He could no longer face reckless attacks and now only counted as level two.

When his team members saw the situation, they stopped at where they were. They were in confusion whether to step ahead or retreat. Losing a whole level was not a small matter and they could see the expressions of the leader. Now he had no more the aura of the team leader but a beaten down chick. He was covered in injuries.

Although they were larger in numbers, they still worried whether to attack. Both due to the fear of losing their level and their experience which they had earned with much difficulty.

Qiao used to read a novel where the mc was always surrounded by villains and he would come up with bandit ways to tackle them. Or you could say guerilla warfare.

These methods were not familiar to hunters. Or maybe the higher-level hunters might be aware, but the chasers had a tough time facing Qiao's tactics. They were baffled and then defeated by his methods. Their limited agility and reflexes made it even more difficult.

Qiao did not turn to see what was going on because he was running out of time. The other teams somehow understood what was going on and instead of running away they got ready to hunt the youth as well as the monster by joining hands.

They also wanted to revenge for what this youth did to the other team leader.

The first team ran away after they witnessed their leader badly beaten and the leader was no more in a position to stand up with head high.

There were only two teams left now.

Qiao understood that they were ready to face him head on so he sighed and stopped running. He knew that the monster was coming right onto his head when he swept his body and fell on his feet. His weapon was pointed toward the monster and his eyes were fixed toward the people eyeing him. He quickly made sure of their location in this way.

He needed this time for his two comrades to reach on the spot but he was not sure what they would do so he couldn't instruct them in the middle of the mess.

"He is again acting in his over smart manner," the other team leader saw his actions clearly and snickered.

"Don't stay behind, let's just finish him now," he beckoned his team and they rushed forward with their weapons waving in the air.

They had decided to kill him before he could show any more surprise moves.

Linwin and Quipu managed to reach and they stopped the other members while Qiao was ready to follow the next move according to his team members. Since the member also only focused on the team it meant they were giving him time to face the team leader. They were confidant in leader to finish him.

The team leader did not care whoever came onto his path. He would end whichever happened to be in his way, be it the monster or the youth.

Qiao had launched a fatal injury at the monster and then he quickly stepped aside with sharp movement. He smashed his weapon against the ground and used the momentum to escape to the nearest tree as his defense.

The monster was yet to react to the attack when the team leader reached near. Qiao had managed to maintain a safe distance and exactly when he calculated, the team leader was in front the monster which was already blind to look around for its the target.

It instead ran onto the team leader while Qiao reached from an opposite, as he slashed with his level four weapon. The team leader only had a level three weapon and his own level was also the same.

"Now you can hunt either the monster or the newbie, what is your choice?" Qiao smiled as he continued with his attack. He also glanced toward the third team who was reaching onward for the help.

"You are smart to corner me this way, how about a deal. Leave me unscathed and there is a room for negotiation between us," the team leader hurriedly shouted.

He was afraid to land in the same situation as the first leader and he had to find some way to get out of this predicament. But actually he was just borrowing some time before the third team reached him to lend help.

He was looking toward the blind monster and also Qiao, but both seemed that they wouldn't let go.

Linwin and Quipu were real time busy because the team members were stubborn. Qiao had to think of a way to solve the problem. The third team was also reaching and his comrades were surrounded. He himself was alone to face monster as well as the second team leader.

The situation was getting tenser and in few breaths, the third team would close in the distance. Then it would be impossible to defend off every side.

Qiao looked up towards the long, thick vines and then he stomped his feet on the ground to jump and cut off a long part. He then jumped on the back of monster and threw the vine around its neck as collar.

He was riding the monster now to avoid a cornering situation for his team. He quickly forced the blind monster toward where Linwin and Quipu were struggling.

When the team which was surrounding them, saw the monster coming their way they left the two right there and dispersed to save themselves.

"Want to ride or just run on your own?" Qiao voiced from afar and they shook their heads and started running to the safe side.

They were escaping again… Of course, they were escaping.

What they were supposed to do in this situation.

And this was the best way to escape now as they cannot let their hunt stay behind because they had not hunted for daily Quest.

After forcing one team to run away, the encirclement was already broken. Qiao had managed to bait both the team to come forward in the opening and when they were about to catch on, he managed to escape. Fortunately, without losing their experience, they were able to escape again and now only two days were left in the ending of the month.

Their focus was now to keep a safe distance as much as they could.

They did not know clearly as to why these hunters or the teams were after them with such rage. They only knew that if they lose experience during hunt, they would have to leave the Guild. Qiao didn't bother with complete information which was other than hunt or the information about hunting.

"We are at a safe distance, let's collect experience and spoils." Qiao jumped from the back of the monster and voiced to his running comrades.

"Sure, we need it," Quipu came in action as soon as he got the order. They were feeling tired after facing a bunch of enemies, the experience gain would make them refreshed.

"I am also ready," Linwin who perhaps enjoyed the mess was looking already fresh. There were many things which made him focus on the bright side of what was going on.
