Treasures and Snatchers: Level Three (part 21)

The eyes of the monster were glistening in the night and its focus was only to trample the level fiver hunter in front of it. When the lone team leader heard that the man has two more companion with him, his brain immediately started to think about the impossible task. 

It was possible that this small team had caught a monster and hunted it but when they were done hunting, evening fell outside, leaving them with no choice but to wait for the bright day. 

He thought to ask the man behind the voice to collaborate with him and then they might get rid this monster. 

"Hey brother, where are you? If you are willing then we might be able to hunt this monster, what do you say?" he asked him in a friendly yet frantic tone. 

Linwin and Quipu were running where they heard the voice of the person. They could see the horrible monster behind them and thought, how were they supposed to hunt it when they were not capable of hunting such high-level monster. 

"What are you saying? We being lower level chaser might end up under the feet of monster once our weapons shatter." Qiao voiced again. Meanwhile the other two, both blindly running away caught the voice and then turned to reach team leader while the lone level five hunter could understand this reasoning. 

"I have a level five weapon with me here. If you are willing, then you can decide to whether you want to use it or give it to your team. You can also use this to help me out and it will belong to you later." He offered the most precious weapon of this Middletown if this team could help. His record of hunting was not tainted in his career of six years until now and he didn't want to label himself as someone who could not finish assigned missions now, when he felt there might be a chance to hunt this monster. 

Special missions were only given to those teams or team leaders who had neat record. If a team who was sent to hunt for the mission failed then this team would be considered untrustworthy for later missions and it would simply tarnish the reputation built through years. The Guild would never listen to excuses about failures. 

Moreover, since this team leader was going to travel to Hightown after getting approval from his Guild, so he was bound to hunt it with or without the team. Leaving a monster wandering in the open forest would become a taint mark for his future and career as a hunter. If the seniors of High Town heard about it, they would not send him in better places for hunting. 

Leaving strong monsters alive in the Middletown was dangerous and Guild had strict responsibilities about it to hunt the monster as soon as some senior pointed its location. 

Qiao heard to this offer and thought about it. It was a wonderful chance for his team to hunt a strong monster under the guidance of a senior so he was not willing to just hide somewhere when the opportunity was right in front of him. 

"Alright, give it to the man wearing the blue token." Qiao spoke. Quipu was wearing his experience token which was emitting a blueish light. The experience tokens emit the light which indicate their present level. 

Since both of them would separate from him after winter, so they should be powerful enough to stand alone among other chasers. This would be a real achievement for them as people who chose to stay and hunt with Qiao. He was not selfish to jump over this chance alone.

The team leader threw the weapon toward Quipu. He on the other hand felt speechless about this as he thought-should not brother Qiao avail this chance because he was always taking risks for levelling up. He cannot describe what kind of emotions were wreaking chaos in his head. If he was in place of Qiao, he would definitely have forgotten everything else. 

"Quipu after two successful attacks give this weapon to Linwin and remember to put in your best in the attacks." Qiao reminded.

High level hunters cannot hunt monsters with lower level weapon, but lower level chasers can use strong weapon if they bear a strong grit. 

Every attack would give huge amount of experience and it would boost their level. This was the difference between high and low levels. The chasers have unlimited advantages while stronger hunter are left bound to follow the strict and limited choices. 

The team leader just followed and then spoke out, "Since we are hunting a high-level monster, someone should prepare a trap. Hindering a strong monster with baits would not work because huge monsters don't bother whether they are trampling shrubs or humans." 

"But none of us learned how to make traps." Qiao spoke, a little confused. In the middle of the night, they were not going to learn trap skills now, right? 

"You are quite intelligent so just follow my guidance and prepare a trap forty feet away from the present place. Then we'll force the monster with our attacks towards a certain position." the team leader spoke. 

Creating a trap was not difficult if the person in question has some level of intellect. 

"Alright, guide me then" Qiao got ready to follow. 

"Use the long and stronger vines of the plants as tool and create a net. After that, spread these sharp nails under it." He threw a pouch full of iron nails. This was the least he could do at this moment as the prepared net was with one of his team members who left him alone and betrayed in the middle of the hunt. 

Qiao picked the pouch and ran exactly forty feet away with swift movements to make a trap. The other tried to gain him some time and also attacked it so that its direction were to make the monster fall for the trap.
