My Mage System

583 A moment of panic

None of them had ever heard this story before, so they were all captivated by Isaac's story and so Isaac told them: "The King of the Drakonits is still the same as the one back then, so yes, I know them very well, and once we tell them the situation, their is no doubt that they will come to join us in this war, you'll see."

Isaac then answered a few of their questions and when their curiosity was satisfied, since in any case Kevin and Axel couldn't leave before Atlas returned and stabilised the huge quantity of black particles he was absorbing, they decided to go and join their daughter who must have been impatiently waiting for them.

But when they teleported to their personal dimension where they had left Willow, she was no longer there...

Kevin had a moment of panic that all parents have when they realise that their child isn't where she's supposed to be, and Axel immediately reassured him by saying: "She's in the training dimension for the Mages, I've just tracked her energy."

Kevin immediately breathed a sigh of relief, being a father was a lot more stressful than he'd imagined and it was a good thing that Willow wasn't an ordinary child and that she was already perfectly capable of defending herself... Well, that was as much an advantage as a disadvantage, because unfortunately their daughter wasn't afraid of much and she took the liberty of disappearing from their personal dimension without even warning them.

Kevin then said, holding on to Axel's arm: "Let's go join her, it's time we had a little chat with her and set up some rules."

Axel smiled at him and said: "OK, but don't be too strict, she doesn't even know she's done something wrong so let's explain things calmly to her."

Kevin then squeezed Axel's arm tighter and Axel said to him, because after all their bond was so strong that they didn't need to speak to understand each other: "It's true that we've often left her on her own recently, but she doesn't resent us, it's quite the opposite, she'd like to come with us and that's why she probably went to train when she saw that we weren't here, she only wants to become stronger so that we stop worrying about her."

Kevin then said, still needing to be reassured: "I'm so scared of being a bad father... And just the thought that she might go to war with us scares me to death."

Axel then took him in his arms and said: "You're an amazing father, Kev..."

He then lifted his chin and kissed him before saying: "But you mustn't forget that Willow is a Divine creature, the first of her kind, and that her needs are different from the others, our baby already possesses the knowledge of her ancestors and she's capable of doing things that no-one else can, her healing talents will be a precious help to us, whether it is now, during the war, or after the war."

Kevin looked at him then and finally understood: "You want Willow to try and help those who are still in a coma?"

Axel smiled and said: "She'll be happy to help, you'll see... But first we're going to lecture her, and explain to her that if she doesn't want us to have a heart attack when we realize that she's missing, she'd better not do it again."

Kevin smiled back and said: "Okay, let's go now!"

Axel teleported them straight to their daughter and Willow was there, meditating and absorbing large quantities of gold, green and red particles from the energy crystals that Mykael and Colin had placed in a circle for her so that when she came here to meditate, she would be as effective as possible.

But before contacting Willow via their telepatic link, Axel told Kevin to wait and he frowned when he saw that Willow was in the process of creating another energy reserve and he muttered in spite of himself: "What the hell is she trying to do?"

Kevin frowned too and he used the Runes that Axel had engraved on his right hand to be able to see what he was seeing.

He then said when he finally saw the same thing as Axel: "She's creating a reserve of energy on purpose for something, but I don't know what... And that's not all, did you see that?

The quantities of gold, green and red particles she's mixing together seem perfectly stable... Could it be a special technique of her clan?"

Axel then said to him: "Let's ask her directly, in any case you're right, whatever it is, it's perfectly under her control."

Axel then gently called their daughter through the telepathic link Willow had created for the three of them, and he told her that they needed to talk to her and that they also needed her help with something.

Willow immediately got out of her meditation, making sure that her new energy reserve was well stabilised, and when she opened her eyes and saw her two daddies, her smile become bright and she jumped into their arms.

Willow was in her human shape of a 5-year-old girl and she was still wearing her candy pink pyjamas with a panda head on her sweat-shirt that Kevin had drawn himself for her.

Kevin immediately forgot that he was supposed to lecture her and he hugged her tightly before telling her: "My little Willow, why didn't you tell us you were leaving to train, we were worried sick."

Willow then said, a little hesitantly: "I did see the note you left Daddy, but I'm not used to using my human form yet, so I still can't write... And as you said you were going to fight the Knights of Darkness, I was afraid I'd distract you by sending you a telepatic message..."

Axel then caressed her hair and he said to her: "Next time, go find Dilan and tell him where you are, that way he will be able to warn us, just until you learn how to write, okay sweetie?"
