My Stubborn Mistress

Chapter 3 - Back Story

Cassie's POV

Locking herself in her bedroom, Cassie can't stop the tears from flooding her eyes. Instantly, her world turns apart. If true that she lost everything now, nowhere she could go.

Does this mean she has to leave? She never meets any other relatives but only his uncle who betrayed her.

When her parents died in a storm, her uncle took her in who lives in France with his family. She moves there and lives for four years. Then one day, they've decided to come back home. She is twelve years old at that time when her uncle told her they were going to adopt her. She agreed immediately. Not knowing, that they will actually be robbing her in the end.

No wonder her aunt Lydia and not related cousin Mimie often traveling to different places and brought home many luggage loaded with new bags, shoes, clothes, etc...

That's right, maybe she can contact her best friend to help her out? Maybe she can borrow some money to buy her plane ticket to France and find work there? Or sell something from the house?

Since someone already offers her a scholarship program for college, she can accept that and she can work while taking courses.

However, she doesn't have a cellphone but she only owns a computer which is, she rarely use but for research materials and school stuffs only. Not to mention the island has a poor network connection. She also did not have any interest in social media. How can she contact him?

The pain began hammering her head from thinking of different plans how she able to contact Levi to help her out. Her heart also getting heavier for the thought that she has to leave this place again now she doesn't own the house anymore and the 40 hectares man-made forests her parents gave their heart to plants thousands of trees. That land is her treasure, upon remembering her parents, tears find ways again to escape from her eyes.

Hiryuu Island located in Northern Asia where the sun has its beautiful sunrise. Having a small active volcano, it was popular for its hot springs.

Thirty years ago, this place is nothing, abandon, and forgotten. Her dad inherits a small land from his grandparents. When the day he arrives and look for the address, he met her mom. Fall in love at first sight, her dad never wanted to leave the island, instead, he began cultivating the land and gave all his resources to transform the deserted mountain into a man-made forest. A fresh graduate of his course as Environmentalist and has a major in Biology, her dad effortlessly created a miracle.

But life still unfair after everything. . . One by one, all that precious to her are now gone and she was left alone. Blinded by the light coming from her window, the picture frame at her dresser caught by the afternoon sunlight.

What time is it? She glances at her bedside table and it was a quarter before three in the afternoon. Although her stomach complaining, she ignored it.

She gets off her bed and pick up the picture frame from the dresser and brought it back to her bed. She throws herself in the soft mattress and closes her eyes, holding their family picture frame and fresh tears falling from her eyes.

"Brother, where are you?" the words she utters before she falls asleep.

Shun's POV

After Cassie run upstairs, he turned to his assistants. "Rudolf, call some people to dispose of all those stuff from the two bedrooms in the middle."

"Yes, boss!" Rudolf answered then went to the back porch and take out his phone from his pocket.

"Daichi, follow me." Shun gets up from the long sofa and make his way into the staircase.

"Hey, boss. . . you said we will wait for the Miss to--" he did not finish his sentence when his boss turns around and stare at him.

"We're not going to her room, am taking you to see the two rooms I wanted to be emptied first thing tomorrow." Shun sighed.

Daichi felt a little strange but shook it away. "Okay," he replied.

Daichi whistled after opening the master's bedroom. Luxury displayed in every corner of the room. The old woman makes sure she'll live like a queen.

"Check out the wardrobe," Shun commanded.

He nodded then open the sliding door of the walk-in closet. He steps inside and opens every drawer he saw. He can't stop whistling. "What a sc.u.mbag relative the Miss has," Daichi pitied Cassie.

"Boss, those jewelry have cost hundreds of thousand US dollars," he reported.

Anger strike Shun's face. . . not to mention those paintings and antique vase displayed around the bedroom. "Let's go to the other room," he said afterward.

Daichi just followed his boss. He opens the other room and shocked punch his face. "What the f**k!?" he exclaimed.

Shun shush him because Cassie's bedroom is just the next room. Daichi covers his mouth to avoid cursing another word and escaped from his mouth.

The room was in a total messed. Clean and dirty clothes are thrown all over the room. They're not just ordinary dresses but most of them are designer clothes. The shoes and heels lying on the floor are all from a known brand. Even the bags just scattered anywhere in the room.

"Put them all in the auction," Shun ordered. Daichi nodded.

"Yes, boss."

Daichi went to the walk-in closet to check more jewelry. He was right, that girl owns expensive pieces of jewelry as well; bangles and earrings are mostly found in the dresser-- unlike in the other room, huge necklaces and heavy beads of earrings what mostly seen. This mother and daughter! Daichi cursing them inside his head.

He saw his boss left the room and so he followed then quietly close the messed bedroom.
