Gu Chuyan leaned against the seat and fell asleep.
When they returned to the Xiao family chambers, it was already 5 pm. The temperature dropped tremendously after the sun set in the winter. The moment the car door opened, a gust of cold wind gushed in.
Gu Chuyan shivered. She opened her eyes.
“I can walk myself.” She saw him stretching out his hands so she shook her head lightly.
Xiao Mohan carried her out of the car and asked, “Are you sure you can walk?”
“Yes,” she replied.
Her leg was hurting because Gu Miaoting stepped on it a few times but she didn’t twist her knee or her ankle. It wasn’t as bad as she thought.
“Okay.” Xiao Mohan answered a call and slowed down his pace. He occasionally turned around before he finally stopped walking. He seemed to be waiting for her.
Han Changqing sat in the driver’s seat when he saw this scene.
“What?” Han Changqing took a call. His expression changed entirely and he almost dropped from his seat. He held onto the steering wheel and exclaimed in disbelief, “Did someone actually say that master is running a low-class business? Who said that?”
If Xiao Mohan found out about this, he would definitely beat the person to death!
“I understand.” Han Changqing looked up helplessly at the sky.
He just wanted to run away now. How could he not have received any news regarding this matter?!

The two of them walked slowly into the house. The door opened automatically.
“Follow me,” he said.
Gu Chuyan looked at him climbing up the stairs. She limped up and saw him entering a room. She followed him carefully.
“Whoosh.” The door opened abruptly. She got a huge fright.
When she walked in, the warm light lit up and she saw many bookshelves inside. The room was surprisingly huge. It was as big as two bedrooms.
There was an exquisite ancient-looking study desk in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. To the left, there was a black leather sofa. The book shelves were all leaning against the wall. There was an astonishing number of books inside.
“Plop.” At this moment, Xiao Mohan moved forward and touched something at the side.
She saw a box springing out from an empty spot on a bookshelf. He quickly caught it with his hand.
Xiao Mohan saw her standing there so he asked her to sit on the sofa.
