Not A Cultivator

Feng Ao Xiu's mouth wide opened as if he saw a different person in Little Ren. He regretted to teach her with such a thing, Little Ren did not even try to search, she just destroyed everything. Also, a storage ring was destroyed alongside Little Ren's assault.

Furthermore, Feng Ao Xiu himself also wondered why he tried to help her to overcome her fear. They were inside Dark Cloud Ravine, without any single way of getting out, but he treated her like it was given they would get out of here soon. Thinking about this fact made Feng Ao Xiu felt like he was stupid.

Yet... Every time he saw Little Ren's face, he thought it was fine to be stupid.

Time passed, the light turned into darkness, and night once again come.

The result of the search turned out to be nothing good, they found a total of five other storage rings. But, not only these rings were inferior to the first one, but there's also no food inside any of them.

They decided to search one more time for food. However, the result was much worse than yesterday. Only three storage rings without food were found.

It was already the third day. They grew richer every time they found a ring. Yet, they could not use that money to buy food.

Every second's passing made them hungrier and desperate. Little Ren was actually very hungry, but she did not say anything about it.

Feng Ao Xiu decided to stop looking for food. He encouraged Little Ren to stop looking for storage rings, and instead surveying the area for an exit.

Nothing was found.

The fifth day

Since there was no exit, they surveyed the cliff wall and tried to find the easiest one to climb to.

But no matter which one, all of them were too high and too steep. Feng Ao Xiu did his best to climb it, but it was too slippery, and he fell down. Even, if a well-trained man like Feng Ao Xiu couldn't do it, not to mention a small girl like Little Ren.

But Feng Ao Xiu would not give up. He tried again and again, by the time he made it into a one-tenth high, he could not climb anymore.

"There's an invisible wall preventing us from getting out of here."

Feng Ao Xiu jumped down, then he frowned. This was the limit, there was no way to get out of here. The invisible wall was the most troublesome, with it in place there was nothing they could do.

Still, in front of Little Ren, he forced a smile. "Let's find another way!"

However, the most shocked one was Little Ren. Unlike her previous cute pouted face, this time, her expression was just dark and full of despair. Especially her eyes that seemed to gaze into nothingness was too ominous.

It was still in the middle of the afternoon, but they decided to rest early for today.

The sixth day.

"I'm tired!"

No matter what Feng Ao Xiu said, Little Ren won't budge. In the end, he said, "Okay, if you're tired, just stay there. I'll look for an exit myself. Please wait for me!"

Just before nighttime, Feng Ao Xiu gets back.

Little Ren stared at him intensely.

Without waiting to hear her question, Feng Ao Xiu replied, "I didn't find anything. But tomorrow..."

"You lied!"

Tears were flowing out of Little Ren's eyes. She shouted loudly, but her voice contained sorrowful anger.

"Little Ren..."

"You said that you will get me out of here! But you did nothing!"

Feng Ao Xiu did not dare to see into her eyes, he looks down, "I'm... I'm sorry!"

She cried again, "Wuuhuuuhuu... I miss Mommy and Daddy!"

Feng Ao Xiu could only sit beside her and pat on her back slowly.

* Kuuuukkk... *

Little Ren's stomach grumbling.

"Wuuhuuhuuu... I'm hungry too!"

"Eat this!" Feng Ao Xiu took something from the storage ring and give it to Little Ren.

Little Ren received something in her small little hands, it was half of a red bean bun.

"Eh! This is!"

Previously, when Feng Ao Xiu tore the bun in half, he gave one half to Little Ren, but he did not eat the other half. Instead, he put it back into the storage ring, to use it a few days later so Little Ren could survive longer.

"But, what about you, Xiu?"

"It's okay, just eat all of it! I'm not hungry..."

* Kuuuukkk... *

Feng Ao Xiu's stomach was grumbling. He blushed red because of it.

Little Ren giggled. Then, she tore the half-bun equally to smaller pieces. She gave one to Feng Ao Xiu.

"Eat!"

"I don't need..."

"Eat! Otherwise, I won't eat either." Little Ren insisted.

Feng Ao Xiu slowly took the bun and held it right in front of him. The two finally ate the last pieces of food they have. It was a small portion, but somehow it fills their stomach.

"Xiu..."

"Hmm..."

"We will die. Won't we?"

"I'm sorry..." Feng Ao Xiu closed his eyes.

"Please don't be sorry... Xiu, you tried your best..." Little Ren said while sobbing, "At least, I won't die alone... it's scary to be alone!"

Feng Ao Xiu slowly held Little Ren's hand, "Don't worry, I'll be with you!"

"Thank you. You're very kind to a stranger like me..." Little Ren smiled, then she said, "Xiu. If we can get out of here, I will allow you to marry me!"

"Marry you?"

"Yes!"

"...", Feng Ao Xiu stood there without any expression.

Seeing Feng Ao Xiu not being happy, Little Ren pouted once more. "What!? You don't want to marry me?"

"Ummm... Maybe when you've grown up..."

"You..." Little Ren said in anger. "You dare to reject me!? Just so you know my grandpa is the strongest! He will beat you up if you reject me!"

She calmed herself down, then said in a slightly trembling voice, "Since I'm a kind-hearted woman, I'll allow you to change your mind!"

Feng Ao Xiu intensely stared at the little girl's face. He does not know whether Little Ren has fallen for him or just wanted some affection in this kind of situation.

But what about himself? Although he only met her for a short amount of time, he never felt this happy before. Meeting this Little girl made him wanted to protect and keep her safe. That's why he saved the bun for her, he wanted to see Little Ren smile.

[So... This is love?]

"Okay! If we ever get out of here, I will marry you."

"Promise?"

"I promise!"

Then, Feng Ao Xiu and Little Ren sleep under the night sky.
