46. Playing Pantomime

Translator: Guy Gone Bad

“Mr. Jin, can you read?” Zhou Xiaochuan asked Bao Ye under his breath.

Bao Ye didn’t intend to hide the truth, “Yes.”

“That is perfect.” Zhou Xiaochuan pulled a small notebook from his pocket and quickly crammed it into Bao Ye’s pocket. “The name and address are all here. Remember not show them to anyone and burn it immediately after you meet all the people on it.”

The slaves were not allowed to learn reading, once the notebook was seen by other people on a higher position, they may catch and interrogate the slaves for locating the literate slave, then kill the literate one.

“Don’t worry, no one will see it.” Nodded Bao Ye.

“Since many slaves can’t read, the names may not correct, you’d better check everyone.”

“OK.”

“Mr. Jin, please inform us whether you find the person or not.”

“I will.”

“See you.” Zhou Xiaochuan left. Before Dongling Ce arrived, Bao Ye came to find the person according to Zhou Xiaochuan’s address list.

The files in the small notebook was in detailed, including names, addresses, gender and age. There was 377 people on the list, among which 13 people shared the same name in words or pronunciation with Jin Lingrui, but they were either too old or too young, some were far from power awakening, no one was the target.

It came to the usual time when Dongling Ce arrived the site. Bao Ye returned to clean his office immediately, brewed a pot of tea when his limousine halted at the gate, and served the cup of tea when Dongling Ce stepped into the office.

“Good morning Your Majesty, it’s a privilege for us to have the most hard-working god as our owner.” Bao Ye served the tea to Dongling Ce and continued, “Your Majesty, having a cup of black tea will dissipate the coldness inside, promote the blood circulation, maintain a sufficient blood supply to the brain, cleanse the digestion system, quickly refill the water you need, lower the blood pressure, and even prevent and cure the constipation. Hope the tea bring wellness to you.”

Narrowed his eyes at Bao Ye, who was extremely complaisant today, Dongling Ce thought that this guy must be pleasing him because of what he did last night. What a clever slave! He knew how to flatter and please others who he offended and were stronger than him.

Dongling Ce curved his lips and said, “Say it again. The thunder is too noisy, I can’t hear you.”

It was not a mockery because he couldn’t hear him indeed.

He was irritated by the thunder these days and set a noise shield last night to block all the sound outside. He was still covered by this shield.

Bao Ye repeated his words.

Dongling Ce sat down and smiled wider, “I still can’t hear you.”

He looked at Bao Ye playfully and took a sip of the black tea. A trace of astonishment flashed across his eyes: the tea he brewed was so tasty.

Bao Ye knew that Dongling Ce couldn’t easily let him go, so he didn’t mind repeating his words again and again. But after repeating several times, he found the noise shield and realized that Dongling Ce couldn’t hear from him.

A sly look flashed across Bao Ye’s face. He moved his lips as if he was talking about something funny and laughed happily with rich gestures.

Dongling Ce narrowed his eyes. He couldn’t hear him, but he could read lips. The lips of the ugly slave were moving, but it didn’t seem like speaking or cursing. And his happy look whetted Dongling Ce’s curiosity.

He lifted the shield and the rumbling thunders filled his ear, which covered the speaking voice from human.

Dongling Ce thought Bao Ye was speaking, but he still couldn’t hear him, so he asked Bao Ye, “Speak up!”

Bao Ye pointed at somewhere outside the window, then put his both hands beside his ears, showing his hearing nothing.

Dongling Ce knew that he was imitating him, so he slowly drank the tea in his cup then casted the cup outside of the window. The teacup was shot into the clouds like a sharp sword.

Next, huge cracking sound burst from the sky, and the ground shivered heavily. The thunder stopped and calmness returned.

Dongling Ce crossed his legs and commanded, “What did you say? Say it now.”

Bao Ye stared at him in an innocent look, “I was playing pantomime.”

Dongling Ce, “…”
