One Night With The Prince

Chapter 69 - Carbon Copy of her Mother

Meanwhile, at the White House:

"Nothing! I just heard you mentioned the name, Alexa Grant. A childhood friend of mine back in the Philippines is also named Alexa Grant." Ramon replied nonchalantly.

Jane Si and First Lady Dianne looked at each other without saying a word. Both of them were thinking the same thing. 'Could Alexa be the same person Ramon was talking about? She is also from the Philippines. How many people in the whole world would have the same name, anyway? Hmmm!' Jane Si was giving the First Lady a meaningful glance.

'This is a coincidence, or is it? We would need to look into this matter deeply.' Jane Si and First Lady Dianne were speaking with their mind as they looked at each other.

Lady Lucy Le Grand was stunned to hear Alexa's name as well, so, she looked at how her son's face became bright after hearing the girl's name. She couldn't help herself but worry if it was the same girl. 'I need to do something about this or First Lady Dianne would not be happy with Ramon being infatuated with that girl.'

"Why don't we forget about Alexa and let's discuss your impending birthday party. What are you planning to wear for your birthday? Lady Lucy Le Grand quickly changed the subject to First Lady Dianne's favorite item: Clothing...

Once First Lady Dianne heard the subject of clothing, she forgot Alexa and Jane Si's grievance. They happily started talking about designer this, a designer that...

Jane Si had no choice but to sit down and join the conversation while trying her best to flirt with Ramon in order to get his attention.

However, Ramon's mind had gone far-far away. He was in deep thought of how he could excuse himself and see if he could get a glance of this person; Alexa Grant. Deep inside of him, he could feel to his bone marrow that this person and his Alexa were one and the same person, and he needed to find that out ASAP.

What he couldn't figure out at the moment was what her relationship with the First Family would be if she were the same one. 'Grant!' Could it be that the President is her biological father? No, way!' With that thought, his facial features suddenly turned somber once again. 'If that's the case, then she would move a lot further for me to reach. What am I going to do?' "Ahhh" He exclaimed loud enough for the three ladies to hear and wonder why?

Ramon realized that he exclaimed a little too loud with his sad looking face, he apologized and asked if he could go out to the garden and get some fresh air while they chatted away.

"Sure, go ahead! We will be a while, and I'm quite sure you don't want to listen to us ladies speak about fashion. Hahaha!" First Lady Dianne said while pointing to the direction of the private garden of the First Family. "Better yet, why does Jane here not accompany you? She is familiar with the outlets of the White House. She basically grew up here." She followed up with a kind gesture.

Ramon was going to decline, but he thought of how the First Lady might get upset if he did. "If it's alright with Miss Si, I would love to, and I would be delighted to have her company so that she can also give me a tour of this beautiful piece of history." He replied with half a smile on his face showing his dimples on both of his cheeks.

Jane Si was on the moon as she heard him say he would be delighted for her to accompany him. She quickly got up and tucked her arms in Ramon's, "Let's go! I'll show you where Auntie's beautiful and rare orchids are." The two walked out hand in hand, leaving the two old ladies grinning from ear to ear. Both were thinking the same thing. "That's it. We might have a wedding by the end of the year." First, Lady Dianne told Lady Lucy Le Grand proudly.

Not a minute that Jane Si and Ramon left for the tour of the Garden, Alexa and Daniel Grant came in. They politely greeted Lady Lucy Le Grand without really paying attention to her then, they both went to give First Lady Dianne a lite embrace and kiss on her cheek.

"Hmmm!' Was all the greeting they received from the First Lady. Before turning her attention back to Lady Lucy. First Lady wondered what was suddenly wrong with Lady Lucy. She had become pale and dead white while looking at Alexa. "Are you alright, Lady Lucy?

Lady Lucy Le Grand was staring at Alexa like she had seen a ghost. Alexa looked just like her deceased mother, 'how can this be?' She couldn't believe what she was seeing in front of her that she had to rub her eyes a couple of times to make sure. 'Unbelievable!' She thought while she still stared at Alexa.

Flashback: 18 years before,

First Lady Dianne and Lady Lucy were attending the same college, and they were the two most beautiful girls on the campus. Dianne Kent at that time was engaged to be married to Sean Grant who was an aspiring politician. It was a family arrangement for the two to marry, but Sean Grant was not happy about the whole set up.

He tried so hard to break up the engagement. However, the family was adamant that for political reasons, he needed to marry Dianne Kent.

Dianne Kent had fallen in love with Sean Grant since childhood. For her, there was no other man on earth that she wanted. 'Either Sean Grant or death.' She tried to kill herself when she found out that he wanted to cancel the engagement.

Lady Lucy had found out the reason why Sean Grant wanted to cancel the engagement. One night while she attended a fashion show in NYC, she accidentally saw him with Alexa's deceased mother, Chrissy Chen, an aspiring model from the Philippines. She took a picture of the couple and sent it immediately to Dianne who in turn, went on a rampage and flew to NYC to confront Chrissy...

Daniel broke the silence by asking his mother a question. "Is father back yet? How about grandma? Is she here already?"

Before the First Lady was able to reply to her son, someone had come in, and they all had to look to see who it was...
