One Night With The Prince

Chapter 7 - Learning How To Do A Catwalk

At that point, Alexa was full of determination to keep her oath, whatever it took. She planned on doing everything in her power to accomplish her dreams and goals. Her grandmother always said, "When opportunity knocks, keep the door entirely open, and once it's in, make sure it stays for good."

The attendant, who was waiting for Alexa, came with her cell phone in hand. "Miss, your phone was buzzing. I thought you might want to answer it in case it's an urgent matter."

The phone stopped buzzing just as the attendant was handing it over to her. Alexa checked the number of the caller to see if it was an urgent call. It was from her grandmother, "Let me make a quick call, it's my grandma, and it could be important." She informed the stylist that was waiting for her to finish dressing.

The stylist smiled at her and motioned for her to carry on.

Alexa went out to find a more discreet place to make her call. "Hello! Grandma, what's up! Are you looking for me?" She could hear the sound of mah-jong tiles being shuffled on the background.

"I just wanted to let you know that I am at Aunty Bering's house, playing Mah-jong." Grandma Santos sounded like she was having fun.

"I know, I figured that when I got home and you weren't there. Are you winning? You sound like you are. I can hear it from your voice. Hehe!" Alexa teased her grandmother.

"Yes, I am. I'm about to quit while I'm still ahead." Grandma Santos said it out loud, so the other players could hear her too.

"What do you mean you're quitting soon? I need to get some of my money back first." One of the players complained.

"Alexa, tell your grandmother that she can't do that. She can't keep winning all our money then suddenly quit!" One of the players yelled, and Alexa heard the banter.

"Hahaha! Grandma, you better give them a chance to win some of their money back. Otherwise, they would not let you play anymore. Hahaha!" Alexa warned her grandmother jokingly before saying goodbye.

"Grandma, I have to go. I am quite busy right now. If this pays off, I would be on my way to stardom. See you later at home, alright?" Alexa tried to sound as cheerful as she could. But, what she really wanted to say was... She would have enough money to pay for all grandma Santos gambling death.

After hanging up, she rushed back to where the stylist was patiently waiting for her return. "I'm sorry! It was my grandmother." Alexa explained.

"It's alright, no big deal. Anyway, there's not much left to do. Here, put this on, so we can see how it looks on you." The stylist handed her a knee-length evening dress. It was beautifully designed, but she couldn't find any label on it at all.

"Ms. Garcia has designed that dress. It's not out yet. It's going to be a part of her collection for her next fashion show." The stylist proudly informed Alexa after noticing the way she kept studying the dress.

"Wow! Are you for real? Are you saying that this is an exclusive design that has not been seen by anyone yet?" Alexa was stunned and rooted to the ground, hearing what the stylist told her.

"What are you still standing there for? We don't have all day!" Ms. Garcia scolded Alexa, who was still unable to move.

"I'm sorry! I'm on it. I'm going... I'm changing right now." She hurriedly went to put on the one of a kind exclusive evening dress that would change her life forever.

A couple of minutes later, Alexa came out, wearing a beautiful evening dress. From what Ms. Garcia saw, it was like she had designed the dress just for Alexa. It fit her perfectly. Ms. Garcia was in awe and loved the way it looked on her.

"Give her the matching stilettos. Let's see if she can rock the dress while wearing high-heeled shoes." Ms. Garcia ordered the attendant that was helping the stylist.

Alexa was handed a pair of rock-studded t-strap stilettos by Valentino Garavani, which probably cost almost a whole year of her income. Her hands were still shaking when she put on the shoes. In her mind, she was stressing out that she would mess it all up and she wouldn't be able to afford to pay for it if something happened.

After putting the shoes on, she stood up straight. With her height, that was 5'11, and the heels elevated her by 4 inches", she looked so tall and beautiful.

Ms. Garcia couldn't stop herself from smiling. She liked what she was seeing.

Alexa was tall, slim, had long legs like a gazelle, with black, long curly hair that strolled down her back and beautiful straight pearly white teeth. She was picture-perfect. The perfect candidate for the title of a beauty queen…

Except for the single flaw... Alexa had never worn high heels in her entire life. She had in the past went to the mall and tried on high heels shoes, but never stilettos. She never thought she would need one since she's already pretty tall for a woman.

"What are you doing?" Ms. Garcia motioned for her to walk towards her, but Alexa just stood like a statue.

Alexa was unable to move, her legs were shaking, and she was afraid to take even a step forward. However, Ms. Garcia started getting agitated, and her brows almost touched each other while looking at her, waiting for Alexa to make her first step.

Alexa had no choice. She started to pray to all the gods that she knew about. She was praying to anyone who could hear her, to let her walk in these stilettos without falling flat on her face.

Unfortunately, it seemed that all the gods were currently asleep, and no one was listening to her prayer.

Therefore, Alexa took her first step without confidence, and...

*Plank! Thud! Boink!* She fell flat on her face...

"WTF???"

Where all the words that came out of Ms. Garcia's mouth...
