Other Dimension's Knight

Chapter 13 - XIII: True Assassin

Shirou arrived in class and saw his two friends talking to each other.

" Good morning " said Shirou to them.

" Hey, how rare to see you being late. Professor Fujimura was quite furious about it. " said the brown-haired friend.

After that Shirou simply talked a bit with his friends and sat at his place waiting for the class to start. Meanwhile, Alexander was on the roof, seeing that Sakura was safe and here for the time being, he relaxed a bit and checked the surrounding using his eyes. He didn't see anything, but he felt something was wrong and knew that today, someone was going to make a move in this school. The master of Caster was still here and acted like nothing happened. He knew Caster had a clone in the school protecting her master or to attack. At that moment he felt something approaching the school at a high speed. When he looked at it he realized it was another servant, supposedly assassin considering his clothes but he didn't look like Sasaki at all. He didn't know what was happening but he guessed that the previous assassin got killed and this assassin was summoned instead. This Grail had multiple problems in it, first someone managed to summon the infamous gorgon and now this.

Alexander found it funny that this assassin didn't realize that Alexander was there but didn't manage to notice who assassin's target was. Assassin was just scouting the area a bit and hid. He would probably wait until the end of school. Alexander wondered for a bit if the 'thing' that put worms into Sakura was the new master of assassin. It would make a lot of sense since he was the one that disappeared from the Matou Residence yesterday at the same time that assassin got killed. Although he didn't check where he was right now, he guessed that he was near the school if he ordered assassin to get close aswell.

Lunch time arrived in Fuyuki, and when Shirou planned to go to the student council room to eat, he realized that his classmates were apparently looking at something interesting outside the classroom.

" What's up? Not going to the cafeteria? " asked Shirou to his brown-haired friend.

" That's what was planned but... well just look at that. " answered his brown-haired friend.

Shirou then looked outside of the classroom and saw Tohsaka waiting, looking exhasperated with her lunch in hand. She looked slightly embarassed at the action.

" There can be no doubt. That girl is peeking into our classroom, nonchalent, yet brazen as can be. It is not 'the one you wait for will not come' but more 'the one you wait for will not notice'. She looks like she's about to snap, like one who had left a birthday present for someone, but even after a year the recipient failed to notice. " said the brown-haired friend.

At the same moment, she looked in the direction of Shirou and poited him, telling him to come with her. Obviously, everyone was surprised by who she was waiting for, even Shirou...

After that, Shirou followed her as the gaze of the other students made him uncomfortable. Although it was a good situation for him, as he wanted to talk to her about the recent events, he didn't know how to do it and her making the first move was beneficial for him. They reached the roof where Rin made gesture for him to sit next to her.

They both ate in silence for a while since they were both uncomfortable with what happened in the recent days. Rin, although she didn't necessarily regretted it, felt quite bad with the death of Matou Shinji and also she was informed with what happened yesterday between Shirou and her servant.

" I'm sorry. " said Rin suddenly.

Shirou looked at her for a bit, not knowing what she was talking about.

" About yesterday I mean. I've used a command seal on Archer. I ordered him not to attack you as long as our alliance stands. I know it doesn't make up for anything, but I'm sorry. " said Rin, looking downcast.

Shirou looked slightly relieved now that he knew that yesterday's action were indeed Archer's fault and not Rin's.

"That isn't something you should be apologizing for. Plus it was also Alexander's fault for leaving me alone against him when he could have defended him. I'm sure he had a good reason but he doesn't want to tell me. " said Shirou.

" But.... I gave free rein to Archer yesterday so I'm also responsible. " said Rin, looking slightly surprised at the mention of Alexander's actions.

" .... Ok. If that's what you say, I'll go along with it. " said Shirou

" So where is Archer today? " asked Shirou

" I left him at school " said Rin.

" I see " answered Shirou as he got up since the bell rung.

" Hang out with me a bit. Skipping class once in a while won't do harm right? " said Rin to Shirou.

While Shirou and Rin were talking on the roof of the school, Alexander saw that Assassin was starting a formation on the second floor, where Sakura was. He didn't know exactly what formation that was, but it looked identical to the end he destroyed in the past. He quickly got close to Sakura's classroom to stop Assassin from doing what he wanted to do and to possibly kill him. Since he was a knight he wouldn't attack him in the back but he was sure that nobody could escape him in this war, even when weakened like this.

He appeared next to Shirou and Rin who were talking about magic, startling both at the same time.

" Shirou, true assassin has appeared and his target is Sakura. He's going to use the same formation as the one I destroyed previously to capture her. I'm going to protect her from assassin. " said Alexander before he disappeared, leaving both of the masters dumbfounded.

Alexander arrived in front of Sakura's classroom when the formation activated. Every student started to suffocate and dropped to the ground as he saw true assassin running towards the classroom, possibly to take Sakura. He materialized in front of the classroom and waited for true assassin.

He also saw something problematic with true assassin, there was another entity with him, a shadow to be exact so he simply prepared himself to fight two against one.

---------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Shirou and Rin went down from the roof the moment the formation started and a giant eye appeared in the sky. Apparently this formation stopped communication from outside since she couldn't contact Archer. Shirou started to run towards Sakura's classroom but he and Rin were blocked by Dragon Tooth Warriors in the corridor. Shirou had a reinforced broom as a weapon and it wasn't really effective.

As they heard the sound of steel clashing under their feet, they quickly got surrounded by monsters and shirou decided to use a command spell to summon Saber as he knew they probably wouldn't make it out of here without her.
