Personal Dungeon

Chapter 6 - Welcome to Eclipsia city

"What happened between you two ?"

Asked the policeman who was driving without looking back, the policewoman was also sitting in the back seat with Kyle and the victim. She was glaring at Kyle as if she didn't trust him and was afraid he might attack her anytime.

"This asshole was looking at my wife with his lecherous eyes!"

Kyle looked at the guy and was still lost, why was it so bad to look at another person ?

He couldn't understand so just looked at the huge crowd getting in through the door, he opened the window and looked at the gigantic walls in front of him, this city looked exactly like a fortress. He doubted even an army of a million men could overtake this city, of course with enough strength even one person alone could reduce it to ash.

'I wonder if grandpa could have taken down this fortress, he was a legendary dungeon solo conqueror after all... the old man said that my dad is stronger than my grandpa was? What kind of absurd power does he possess ?'

Finally the car went through the giant gate and was engulfed in the darkness cast by the long tunnel for tens of minutes, the ceiling of the tunnel was so high that the lights attached there looking just like stars, it was just like a beautiful night sky.

After 20 minutes under the tunnel he car walked out of the tunnel and arrived to a checkpoint with knights standing everywhere, there was probably a full regiment of Eclipsia city's army standing there.

The police car stopped at the checkpoint and Kyle and the guy were checked in, the police officers didn't expect to see Kyle in possession of a pass. Usually only VIPs could buy one and VIPs travelled through the airs by helicopters or planes or in the most surprising case by car but they had never heard of a pedestrian holding a pass.

They looked at each other and started sweating. In this new world the police had their hands on normal citizens but they were far from being strong enough to judge strong magicians or magical knights, that wasn't their problem they just left them do as they wished because if they did wrong they'd be judged by the magical community as insiders.

The policeman was a smart guy, as he stood outside of the car to pass Kyle's pass at the knight who checked who could go in and who couldn't he said

"Your name is Kyle you said ? The handcuffs aren't too tight right ? I can take them off for you now, honestly it was just part of the procedure."

He tried to make his smile as natural as possible but his knitted shaking brows betrayed his nervousness, the "strong guy" who was being also registered by a knight looked over with wide eyes, what had suddenly happened to make them treat him better ?

Finally after 2 minutes everything was done, Kyle was allowed in in the first second when the knight saw the pass, he was very well informed that fakes couldn't be made and so that Kyle was a real VIP. It lasted two minutes only because of the other guy who had to go through the normal procedure, and they were lucky the knight was competent and had been fast, most people spent hours in a queue and around 10 minutes for the procedure.

Kyle just realized how lucky he had been to get into a fight, staying in queue for hours looked like the most boring thing ever, since they saw his pass the police officers were even acting like cute puppies. The girl who kept looking at him vehemently even offered him to sit in the passenger seat because it was more comfortable, he wasn't sure what kind of value his pass had yet but he didn't leave it in his backpack anymore and put in in his shirt's inside pocket, he didn't think it had big value earlier but he was thankful he had it now.

Meanwhile the "strong" guy was looking really down, he didn't know what had happened but he was sure that he had went through all of this for nothing after seeing how Kyle was being treated, the police officers were looking at each other through the rear view mirror and tried to communicate with their eyes, after minutes of silent talking the policeman who was driving nodded and said

"I'm sorry guys but we have to drop you off now, this place is near the city center so you can just go down this road to reach the closest subway station, we have been called for an emergency !"

He put his hand over his ear as if he was talking in a wireless headset but Kyle could see very well that there was nothing there, he wouldn't point that out though as he was more than happy to not have to go through the police station. He went down the car, smiled at the officers inside and said

"Thanks for the lift, I would still be walking if not for you guys !"

"Haha don't thank us, next time please don't make a fuss in front of so many people, maybe try to do it in a hidden alley or something like that..."

The other guy heard that and almost vomited again!

Finally the car left, inside it both police officers heaved a long sigh of relief

"I hate him ! He obviously played us !"

"Calm down, we dodged a calamity we should be happy."

"Why do you think a VIP was amongst pedestrians?"

"Who knows, I don't want to think about it anymore. I keep thinking of the consequences and I'm scared to death."

Back on the street where Kyle was left he had already started walking in the direction the policeman had given him, the other guy didn't want to walk in the same direction as Kyle as he was too afraid of him and he had to wait for his wife anyway, he went back on their tracks.

While walking Kyle kept thinking about his next move, his objective now was to gain as much experience as he could as fast as he could. Geniuses his age were already double his level if not more, he couldn't think of a better solution than dungeon raids, hundreds of people gathered and raided a high ranked dungeon that couldn't be done alone. He heard from his grandfather that this was the way for the weak to become strong, he wasn't arrogant. He knew without a doubt that if he didn't die early he would make it big but for now he was a weakling, he needed to group with other weaklings until he became strong enough to raid a dungeon alone.

He kept walking amongst the crowd until he reached a huge crossing, first thing he saw were the gigantic buildings that spanned thousands of meters above the ground, then he was astonished by the number of cars crossing the street at the same time. It was such a big number that he couldn't even start guessing how much there were, what he was sure about was that there were definitely more than ten thousands cars.

Finally he looked around him and couldn't help but gap, this number of people was even more surprising. Wherever he looked he could see tens of people packed in a small square meter, nobody remembered Shibuya crossing in this era but this was definitely the upgraded version except that Eclipsia city was located in Southern Europe, not far from where Barcelona used to be located. Most people in this city were natives so they were caucasians but there were other races everywhere you looked, Kyle was surprised to see other species too. He knew that they existed through his grandfather's stories and the books he stole from him but was still surprised to see Satyrs (Man with goat legs and tail), a Lamia (Woman with snake's bottom body), Werewolves and countless other mythical races.
