Sam finished all of his necessary preparations.

Throughout the preparations, he made sure that his presence is as low as possible. He didn't want to stand out too much and he didn't exactly that. Now it is time to act.

Right now, at this moment within the forests on the western front.

A squad of humans are being deployed. The commander in charge is giving them a mission brief.

"Four days, One of our Blade squads has disappeared in the forest. They were sent on an assassination mission. We even received and confirmed the news that the target of the assassination was dead.

The mission was successful, but the squad itself has disappeared during their return.

We tried searching for them, but we were unable to get an info about their whereabouts. There is not a single trace that they moved through the designated path. But they definitely did if they accomplished the mission.

We thought the possibility that they might have been killed, but their life tokens are not broken, which means they are certainly alive.

An hour ago, we got a rescue signal from them. They used the emergency communication system that would only give us their rough coordinates instead of the normal communication.

It seems like they are stuck in some sticky situation. So, you guys need to leave immediately and assist them. You are the elites specialized in rescue operations, so I hope I see the results by the end of the day."

The squad all saluted, too the mission brief and entered the forest.

After half an hour, they reached the area the rescue signal came from. It is not an accurate and exact location after all.

"We need to keep on search properly from here. Don't leave even the tiniest of anomalies you find out. Giants might have already gotten to them once again, but that is the worst case scenario and if it did indeed happen, we have to find the place where they were taken to."

The leader was sharp and on to the point as he quickly delegated some tasks to the team.

"Boss, what about the trinkets given to us?"

"What trinkets?"

"The cubes that were given to us by Mitra. We were supposed to take the pills and activate it, we don't have one for each other after all. If we are split according to your rules, then wouldn't we have problem distributing the pills."

"Ah, those stupid boxes. I don't think we need to worry about them, but just in case let's just distribute the pills now. The people who are holding the boxes, don't take the whole thing seriously. Mitra is one guy and I heard he has one teammate that doesn't even belong any faction.

There is only so much they can do. Let's just go with our plan. 

If you really encounter an emergency, try to deal with it or contact the remaining team members, only if you have a chance you can try to use that box."

They spread out, the trees are way too dense there and they are having a hard time navigating through them. Of course, they are not stupid enough to cut them and create a massive disturbance to attract the giants.

Time passed, it has been more than twenty minutes.

One of the trio that was separated from the team looked in their designated area and sat downfor a break as they analyzed.

"We couldn't find a single clue. There are no traces of footprints, the trees are all looking undisturbed, even the fallen leaves are looking just untouched. It is almost perfect."

"Yeah, the only weird thing I see is that there are no beasts. After all a couple of trees are fruit trees that could attract some beasts at least, even if they are of very low level, but there are no traces of those beasts."

"If there are no traces, then how did the fruits disappear though? I didn't see a single one?"

"Come on guys, really? Are we talking about fruits and trees right now? We need to think about the squad. Since we finished our area quickly, lets go back and report to the leader, we can proceed with the next step of the plan."

With that, all three of them started walking back in the path they came.

Twenty minutes passed, they are still walking.

Thirty minutes, still walking.

Forty minutes, still walking.

"What the fuck is happening? We are not reaching the rendezvous no matter how much we travelled?"

"Don't tell, we are lost? We are Divine Plane cultivators for gods sake."

They threw the vigilance out of their windows before spreading their senses to the maximum. They could sense that the location of their rendezvous is just a couple of hundred meters a head. They should reach within a couple of minutes, even if they just walked casually.

They kept their spiritual senses locked on to that location and started walking. But no matter how much they walked, according to their spiritual senses, the distance between them is not decreasing at all.

Soon, the horror dawned on them. They are lost, or rather they are trapped.

They immediately took out their weapons and started cutting the trees down.

They didn't walk through the path that they came in and instead made a new path completely with their blades as they cut through the forest.

But after a couple of minutes, they lost the direction. When they turned around to go back in the newly created path, they were dumbfounded. The trees are back there. There is not a single cut down tree that they could see.

One of them who put the tree trunks in the storage looked inside. The trunks are still there, which means it is definitely not an illusion. They are indeed moving, but they are still not moving.

They unleashed their powers, they destroyed everything within a hundred meter radius with a single attack, but all they managed to do is create a large circle and at a visible pace, one tree after another grew in that area and locked them.

They tried to fly up and run away, but the branches locked them off. The same trees that they managed to cut off instantly, didn't even budge as they tried to destroy the branches.

Soon, some wooden spikes flew off and stabbed a few of them as they tried very much to get out of the area.

After another ten minutes, all three of them are lying on the floor with their limbs pierced, their energy exhausted.

"Fucking hell, what is happening?"

One of them cursed as they tried to find a way out.

They tried to use their communication token, but they couldn't send out a message. It is blocked.

They tried to use their formation discs, inscription scrolls and even transference tokens, but nothing is working.

The more they struggled, the more they despaired.

Similar situation happened to the rest of the members. The whole squad with twenty four people divided into eight teams, all of them are trapped in the forest. They don't know their own location and they don't know if they can even escape.

They are lost both physically and mentally.

At this moment, all of a sudden their divine senses riled up. They could sense someone approaching them. Someone is coming to their location. And they are giants.

Three giants are running towards them in a crazed pace.

"This is the way, I can sense them. They are in that location and they are injured. Let's go."

One of the giants screamed and called out to their members.

Soon they all arrived at the location to the almost lifeless humans, who are injured and exhausted.

"The nature is truly in our favor. To think that we keep on getting these human bastards like this. How many squads has it been?"

"I don't know the squads, but judging from the captives and the body count we have, it is more than a thousand by now. And that is just by our team. Imagine what the other teams are doing right now?"

As they muttered they took out some restraints planning to capture the humans.

"Guys, we can't let them capture us. We need to do something."

"What the fuck can we even do? We tried every fucking thing we have."

They started discussing openly and looking at their futile struggle, the giants even slowed down and waited. The ridicule they have for these humans is insane.

"Not everything. Take the pills."

One of them decisively said and swallowed a pill.

The remaining two also nodded and took the pills.

And one of them took out a cube and pressed on a button on one of the edges.

"Hope this thing works."

"What the fuck is that? Let's capture them."

The giants made a move, but the next moment, the cube hovered and spun in the air as it gave off a grey energy.

The energy spread wildly around and effected everything that is living. The trees, grass, giants, everything except for the humans that swallowed the pill.

A hundred metre radius circle was created once again and this time, the trees withered away and turned into debris.
