Reborn Into Pokémon With An Odd System

The next morning Max woke up and looked around, he found that Ash was still asleep drooling as he spread his arms and legs out. Max got down from bed slowly and quietly and got dressed. When he walked out he was greeted by the sunlight and the thin mist that was floating in the air.

He breathed in the clean air and looked around the camp to see if there was any activity but ended up finding none. He had gotten used to waking up early in the morning to spar with Lance but now that he wasn't there Max decided to just use the time and work out.

He walked to a tall tree that was nearby and began to climb it, when he reached the very top he was able to see the forest be painted in an orange light as the sun began to rise. After checking out if the branch could hold his weight he sat on it and looked simply relaxed. Several minutes passed and he felt like he had enough and used his legs to hand from the branch he was on.

He began to do some sit-ups on the air with the back of the legs wrapped around the branch holding him in place. At first, he was a little scared of the idea but then he figured that even if he began to fall he could simply teleport back on land.

Once he did about 150 sit-ups and gained some confidence he started to bring out some weights that he had in his storage. He slowly began increasing the amount of weight but stopped as soon as he saw the branch start to bend an uncomfortable amount.

After he had done another 400 he put the weights away and sat back on the branch "phew that feeling of hanging upside down sure is fun and the view is better. I should do it more often when I get back to Pallet."

He jumped off the branch he was on and onto another repeating the process until he was about 8 feet away from the ground. There were no more thick branches that could hold his weight so he just climbed down normally. Max had made it himself not to use his teleportation out in the open unless he was covered or had no other choice.

Once he had gotten down he brought out his staff and began practicing as he spared against an imaginary Lance. His image of the servant was so realistic that he had even been able to hear some of the 'inspirational' words that usually came out of Lance's mouth. It seemed like the young man never opened his mouth unless it was to dis him when his parents were not present."

While he was practicing his moves from the corner of his eye he saw a furry yellow tail, Max got closer to see what it was and not much later a redhead with big ears popped out of a bush. He immediately recognized it as a Flareon and jumped around like a schoolgirl who had met her idol.

When he was watching the show he was always irritated by how Ash never caught an Eevee who was arguably one of the cutest and mysterious. When you caught one it was like rolling a wheel of fortune since it had 8 different evolutions.

He began to feel lucky that he had found one, but then he remembered that yesterday Vlad had mentioned that he had a Flareon. He gave a big sigh as he saw the pokémon start heading to the large building proving his suspicions. "Man that sucks, but oh well at least I can mess around with it for now.

He followed the cute pokémon that seemed to be about 2 or 3 feet tall into the building. When they entered he found that both professors were awake and drinking some coffee while talking about their pokémon theories.

When he walked into the room that they were in he saw the way that the Falreon ran and jumped on Vlads legs and began nuzzling its furry head on his cheek. All Max could do was look and feel jealous and wishing that he was already 10.

Oak gave a small smile and nodded "Good morning Max I didn't expect you to be awake so early in the morning."

Max looked at him and gave him a short nod "My family is usually awake at this time, or at least my father is."

Vlad put down Flareon and gave her a pat on the head "Good job, I know that you've been working hard so take a good rest." Then he brought out a pokéball and after a red flash Flareon disappeared, Max couldn't help but feel depressed "Professor Vlad do you think that during the camp I'll be able to play around with Flareon?"

The Professor quickly nodded "Of course you can, when she is well-rested just let me know and I'll let you touch her."

Max couldn't help but give a wide smile as he jumped in the air. Vlad looked at him and chuckled "My that is a very exciting response haha, is your friend awake yet?"

He shook his head and thought "With the short glimpses I saw of him in his bed during the show I doubt that he is waking up any time soon."

He laughed and looked at Vlad "No he's out cold"

"Well that's alright the people that are going to cook should be here soon and they will get breakfast ready."

Max nodded and sat down with them "Do you know about what time the other kids are going to arrive?"

Vlad began to think and then nodded "The bus should be getting here in about half an hour, for now have some coffee with us."

Max smiled and took the cup that Vlad had handed to him "Thanks"

"Don't mention it, me and Professor Oak were just talking about the old day haha"

Oak wrinkled his brows "Hey don't make it sound like I'm so old hehe, but yeah when Vlad was a kid he always acted first and thought later which got him into trouble on many different occasions. There was this one time where he ...…"

After about 45 minutes of constant talking between the two professors, they heard several engines and then some honking. Max quickly went out to see what was going on and found 4 buses that had parked and opened their doors.

He began looking at the people that were getting off, the more time it took to find the person he was trying to find the more depressed he became thinking that she might not have come. After about 4 minutes waiting he finally found the person that he couldn't wait to meet.

Coming down from the 1st bus was a small girl wearing a pink dress and a hat with a pink bow. She was looking around with a big smile on her face as her blue eyes seemed to reflect the light from the sun.

Max sighed "Can't wait till you grow up, for now, all I can do is make sure that you don't forget me."
