Reborn Into Pokémon With An Odd System

Early the next morning the family walked with Lance to the dirt path that led to Viridian City. When they reached it Lancer looked at the family and gave a big smile "Thanks for everything, after I catch the two pokémon that I think have potential I'll come back right away."

Lex began laughing "You better or else I'll feel lonely, don't worry though make sure that you have fun."

Maria walked forward and gave Lance another backpack that contained dried food that wouldn't be easily spoiled. The servant nodded his thanks and then looked at Max with an evil grin "Don't think that I'll go easy on you when I come back."

Max felt a shiver run through his spine but tried hiding it with a smile "I would be afraid that you were an imposter if you did, take care out there and make sure that you take in the beauty of nature."

Both his parents looked at their son with proud eyes, Lex gave him a pat on the back "That's my son with such a creative mind haha, well Lance like he said, make sure that you stay safe."

Lance gave him a thumbs up and turned around walking towards Viridian City. The family just stood there looking at the shrinking figure of Lance until they couldn't see him anymore.

After they could no longer see him he heard Lex sigh "I hope that fella stays safe, it sure is fun to have him around."

Max nodded, even if he was constantly tortured by the playful servant he still was happy that Lance was his first summon. He had always felt bad for the way that he was forced to kill himself with the use of a seal. He shook his head "That's all in the anime, this is real life and hopefully he will be able to lead a good and happy life here. "

He grabbed and pulled his father's sleeve "Can we go see Professor Oak now?"

Lex gave him a small smile and then looked at his wife "Do you have the herbs that he asked for?"

Maria nodded and took out 2 different classes of herbs from a basket that she had in her hand and looked at Max "These two herbs are what the Professor asked for not long ago, one of them induces a state of fatigue and the other one helps with digestion. By the looks of it, a pokémon has been having trouble so the Professor talked to your dad and asked him to tell me to give him some of the herbs."

Max looked at the herbs that she had in her hand and nodded, he had seen them around their backyard. His mother had made sure to show him the basics in medicinal herbs, to Max it really didn't matter since he had the power to heal but he still paid attention to most of it since she seemed determined to teach him.

The one that interested him were the ones that had narcotic effects since he never knew when he might want to knock out a pokémon he might not be able to catch easily. His father led the way to Oak's lab.

From below the hill, they were able to see the windmill that was behind a farmhouse type building which was connected to a house on the right side. The shingles on the building were red and the color of the siding was cream-colored which created a contrast that made the building stand out even more.

They walked up the spiral-like steps that led to a big wooden door and Lex knocked "Professor you there I'm here for the thing that you ordered the other day."

[BOOOOOOOOM!!!]

The family was startled by the loud explosion that they heard come from the farmhouse part of the building. Not long after an old man appeared covered in soot after a few coughs he looked at the people in front of him and smiled "Hey Lex it's nice to see you, sorry about the scare but I was inspecting a Voltorb that got surprised by the volume of the audio from the notification that lets me know when I have visitors."

Lex nodded and looked guilty, the professor just smiled and looked at the herbs that Maria had "Wow they look in great condition and the size of them is just amazing."

His father raised his head with pride "That's right they are, my wife is an expert, no one in this part of the world can ever wish to be as caring as she is with her herbs."

Maria just lowered her head as she began blushing from what her husband was saying. The professor nodded and then looked at Max "This the son that you were talking to me about the other day?"

Lex nodded and gave Maz a slight shove making him go forward "Hi I'm Max and one of my dreams is to become one of the best pokémon trainers in the world."

The professor looked at him and smiled "If that's one of them what's the other one?"

Max looked at him straight in the eyes and answered: "To enjoy everything that the world has to offer and to get myself a large family when I grow up, but for that I need to make sure that I get stronger so that I can protect them."

The professor looked at him in surprise and began laughing, his parents looked at him with curiosity since it was the first time they had heard him say that. After Lex recovered he gave a wide smile and began patting Max's head. Maria, on the other hand, was pinching Lex's arm and whispering "Just what have you been teaching him."

His father turned around and shrugged "I never told him anything like that, it might have been Lance but who cares? The only important thing is that we might have a lot of grandchildren hehe."

Maria just sighed and began to imagine her future grandkids being as cute as her son.

While the couple was daydreaming Max looked at the professor "I saw the flyer about the pokémon camp that you are going to have and I was wondering if it was too late for me to join in?"

Oak shook his head "Of course not, as a matter of fact, I'll be leaving tomorrow morning why don't you come by then and I can take you to the meeting area. I'll also be taking another child that is your age so you can talk to him during the car ride."

Max looked at his parents "Can I?"

They both nodded and gave him a smile after seeing how happy he looked.

"Okay, then tomorrow morning here at 7:00 you should hurry up and pack since it's kind of a last-minute notice, make sure that you have everything that you need. If I remember correctly they had the list of recommended things to have in the flyer."

Max nodded and began following his parents that had already given the professor their thanks and were now going down the stairs.

When they got home he immediately went to his room and began packing the things that he needed, when he was done he went down and found his parents about to eat.

When his mother saw him she was about to get up but he stopped her "It's fine mother I can serve myself." She nodded and began looking at him proudly, the dinner seemed to be quiet now that Lancer wasn't there to liven up the atmosphere. Maria looked at him and gave a big smile "Max the last dream that you told the professor is it true?"

Max nodded "Yes I want to have my own kids, so more people can know what it's like to have parents like you."

Both of his parents began to tear up and they stood up and gave him a hug "We are so lucky to have you as a son."

After the long hug they began to get into their daily routine, Lex was at the forge and Maria in her garden. Max was training the techniques that he had learned from Lance while he was wearing ankle and wrist weights. They were made by Lance and his father, each weight was 5kg since they were afraid that more weight would somehow affect his growth.

After he had finished he took a shower and went to sleep the next morning he woke up at 6:00 and ate some different fruits and a sandwich. He went to his parent's room and woke them up "Father, Mother I'm leaving. I already ate something".
