Second Chance: Overlord

As Quinn Ni rushed with incredible speed toward Xion the latter smiled at the scene. A golden shield-like aura enveloped his undisciplined uncle. He knew that if he took that hit even with his current body state it wouldn't be pretty. So he rolled in the ground and ran towards the other two that were smirking at the scene. As he ran towards them he asked the system to analyze.

Xion smiled as he took a quick glance at the data. They weren't his match. Xion quickly retrieved the Wooden Sword from his inventory and broke into a faster sprint they both looked at the boy in disdain and smirked.

They couldn't feel any aura coming from him, the boy had no power whatsoever they were sure to take his head.

"You dare underestimate us?! How stupid can you be?!" Li Dai said in a mocking tone as he drew his sword from the sheathe on his waist and clad the blade with a blue aura with a c.o.c.ky grin on his face.

"What a small minded boy…" Xiao Gi muttered to himself drawing two small daggers as he clad them in a red aura and maintained his calm and calculative face.

Quinn Lan looked at the scene desperate to intervene. In the moment he was about to rush out and help Xion, Quinn Ni rushed towards Xion using his unique martial technique 'Blade Shield'. The technique is very misleading, one thought that once the shield was close it would hit with extreme speed and send the target flying. But, that was not the case at all, as soon as he was close enough to his son it would rapidly change form and rope Xion leaving him defenseless against the oncoming slash.

Quinn Lan knew it's weakness. The only thing he had to do was get behind him which is the only place the shield doesn't cover.

While Quinn Lan dealt with Quinn Ni, Xion was enveloping his Wooden Sword with his Demonic Aura. Even though it was just at Lv. 3 he had confidence of it slashing through the weapons his current opponents wielded. They were only at the Human Realm, even though Xion himself was weaker in rank his Demonic Aura can surely make it through.

As he finally closed the gap between them he slashed perfectly against Xiao Gi. This man looked smart and was the weakest of the two. As Xiao Gi noticed it was just a wooden sword he also slashed with incredible precision.

But, the next scene had him frowning the dagger he used to block the wooden sword was cleanly cut through. Stunned by it his usual calm face changed. He hadn't expected this child to have the ability of condensing aura and controlling it enough to clad the wooden sword. Adding to the incredible control of aura, the boy's aura was at least of the Warrior Realm, it can't be…. The boy in front of him is a Warrior Realm being?!

*ZING*

*SLASH*

As soon as Xion cut through the dagger he quickly slashed Xiao Gi's c.h.e.s.t causing a deep injury. Xiao Gi lost consciousness from the rapid loss of blood and fell to the ground face first as Xion walked towards Li Dai with his Demonic Aura around him forming a protective barrier.

Li Dai was stunned, the monstrous aura coming towards him was dangerous. How the hell could a child possess such a horrific presence?! No, he wasn't ready to die! Why the hell did he follow that damned Quinn Ni in the first place? The money Quinn Ni paid him wasn't enough for him to put his life on the line!

"This was supposed to be an easy job…." He muttered. Xion heard those words and smiled blood splattered on his face from when he slashed Xiao Gi's c.h.e.s.t.

"Easy job? What a dumb piece of shit! If it were an easy job why would he have to require your services?" Xion said a small grin and a mocking tone as he pointed over to Quinn Ni.

That's right! Li Dai thought to himself. If it had been an easy job a Warrior Realm being like Quinn Ni would be enough to deal with it. Greed had conquered Li Dai's senses, he needed money to pay the Brotherhood, instead he came into this godforsaken place to die?!

"Please! I beg…" Li Dai began to say but was cut short by Xion as the latter slashed down from Li Dai's left shoulder all the way to his right side waist. Landing on his knees a look of regret flashed over him as he looked at Xion's cold and emotionless eyes until finally he fell to the floor entirely and lost consciousness.

"Don't worry. I wouldn't dirty my hands with a couple of undisciplined guys. You'll live to see another day, both of you." He said as he then shifted his gaze to Quinn Lan and Quinn Ni's battle. He was so focused on the battle the he couldn't hear the system notifications.

"Quinn Lan, do you think you are capable of defeating me? Why not just come back and face father to be done with it?" Quinn Ni asked calmly, but inside he was pissed! That twelve year old brat is a demon and Quinn Lan used his knowledge of the 'Blade Shield' technique to stop the attack from reaching the boy. This is not how it was supposed to be!

"Brother, I have no d.e.s.i.r.e of fighting. I live a peaceful life with my wife and son! Please! Let's stop this unecessary feud between us! We are family." Quinn Lan said trying to find a peaceful way to end this. He was amazed by Xion's combat capability, it was like watching a veteran fighting a couple of rookies. He couldn't be prouder, obviously he couldn't show any less skill or he would lose face in front of his genius child.

But, he wanted to find a way to end this debacle without more bloodshed. There had to be a way, he had finally made peace with his past and is very happy living freely as he does now! After ten years his father suddenly wants him to go back?! What was the reason for this?!

"Quinn Lan, our father truly needs you at the moment. You need to come home and have a face to face with him. That's the only way to avoid anymore confrontations!"

"But what is it he wants?! I am already too old to train under his Military Force!" Quinn Lan said trying to gain some information as to why this was happening! The only reason his father would call upon him is….

The sudden change in Quinn Lan's expression signaled that he now understood. As Quinn Ni noticed the change he put down both his daggers and sighed. If he had thought things through and told Quinn Lan the situation, maybe things would've been easier. Why did he complicate things and tried to force it?!

"That's right Quinn Lan, it's not that father wants you back or anything. He doesn't wish to interfere with your current freedom either. He just wishes for you and your family to visit him… before his final day arrives." Quinn Lan dropped his longsword and fell to his knees shedding tears.

His father was a very strict man, he would run his sons and daughter to the ground for training. Even when Quinn Lan and Quinn Ni's sister Freya died in that damned ear, he did not shed a single tear. But everyone could notice that their father was suffering on the inside. After her death Quinn Lan left the branch and wandered trying to find his own path. That's how he married and conceived! He left without another word to his father, if he didn't see him now that he was in his deathbed Quinn Lan would come to regret it for the rest of his life.

Xion began to understand the situation. He walked towards his father while cleaning the blood off his face and kneeled next to him embracing Quinn Lan saying….

"Pops, let's go visit Gramps! I'm pretty sure everything will be okay! Don't let him die without seeing you. That would be something that won't let Gramps rest in peace." Those words from Xion had a great impact. They might've sounded plain and simple but the maturity in them was that of an a.d.u.l.t.

Quinn Lan got up and wiped his tears. Quinn Ni nodded and turned to leave saying…

"I'll be back to pick you guys up tommorow. I'll let father know you guys are coming." Xion glared at him and Quinn Ni felt that cold gaze penetrating his soul as he shivered.

"Your not leaving until you take those two with you. Their alive but need someone to take a look at their wounds." Xion said as if it were an order. Things weren't all that bad between them anymore. But, Quinn Ni was wary of Xion he didn't know the extent of his power. He couldn't feel even a drop of aura from him!

'What a little monster my brother has brought to the world.' Quinn Ni thought to himself as he disappeared from their sight with the two bodies in blinding speed.
