Shizun

Chapter 4

Shizun - 004 - Decide to live together

There was no point in trying to escape the shame...

The man had already washed himself clean of the monster’s blood, and his fists were no longer as terrifying as they had been. The black chains were also smaller, looping around his wrist thrice like a thick metal bracelet.

The night wind blew and a few ripe grapes fell off of the vines. They hit his head, bounced off, and fell into the mess of hair on his shoulders. The man continued to kneel with an expressionless face, his back straight like a bronze statue. Then... he tried to sneakily move his shoulders, trying to shake the grapes off, but failed even after several tries.

It was a bit funny.

Lu Yunzhen was a little tickled by the scene and a lot of his fear evaporated.

He gathered his wits, bent down, thought better of it, knelt, then thought it was even worse. “My benefactor? Can we both stop with the kneeling?”, he probed.

The man froze for a second, then grabbed him by the arm and hauled him up.

The two faced each other in silence for a while.

Lu Yunzhen was a bit nervous, as he stared at the grape slowly slide down he really didn’t know what to say...

The man asked in a low voice, “Are you afraid of me?”

“Ah?” Lu Yunzhen realized that the man in front of him was even more nervous than he was. His grip became tighter and tighter, almost to the point of breaking bone. He grimaced in pain and sucked in a breath.

The man immediately let go, his eyes brimming with the fear of having committed a mistake.

“It’s fine, it doesn’t hurt much.” Lu Yunzhen recognized that he only looked scary and had no intentions of hurting him and felt relieved. He thought for a second, grabbed two bunch of grapes, washed them, and handed them over. “I’m sorry, this is the first time I’ve experienced something like this. I’m a little scared, and left my benefactor behind without even asking anything...” He said sheepishly.

What kind of normal person knelt this much?

If this man could be reasoned with, then he wouldn’t run away.

“These are grapes I planted myself, they’re pretty tasty,” Lu Yunzhen recommended carefully, “do you want to have a taste?”

The man received the grapes and shoved them down without even spitting out the seeds. It seemed like he’d been hungry for many years.

After seeing that the man ate human food and not humans, he was even more relieved.

He brought the man into the living room, made a big bowl of egg noodles, and chatted while eating.

“I’m Lu Yunzhen, how about you?”

“Mo... Mo Changkong...”

“I’m just a normal student, not your Shizun.”

“You are...”

As Lu Yunzhen chatted, he found that the man seemed to have not spoken in a long time. He had forgotten his words and had his ability to speak impacted. Every phrase took a long time for him to utter and even then he tripped over the short sentences.

Only, he said “Shizun” smoothly, as if he had carved it into his heart and practiced it ten million times over.

Lu Yunzhen had tutored before and was very patient with kids. He took a long time and guided him little by little until he slowly remembered how to speak. The truth came out with a lot of untranslatable archaic phrasing:

Mo Changkong was a disciple of Wujian Peak, both as a sword spirit, for unknown reasons (he could not understand this part) he was sealed underground for ten thousand years. Recently the seal had broken and he had come out to look for his Shizun’s reincarnation.... It was unclear how he made that judgment (Lu Yunzhen didn’t understand this part either), but anyway he had recognized Lu Yunzhen as Shizun.

This whole thing was a bit fantastical...

Lu Yunzhen had seen fights between monsters, confirmed that reality differed from his own imagination, and didn’t dare doubt the existence of these inhuman beings.

Mo Changkong had said that Wujian Peak was a sect that was well known and upright, that they had killed demons and protected people. This night.... he seemed violent and his methods were brutal, but in the end he had killed a man eating monster and protected a human life...

So, he was a good guy?

Lu Yunzhen came to this conclusion and started reflecting on his decision to judge a book by its cover and misunderstand his benefactor.

He couldn’t prove that he wasn’t the reincarnation of Mo Changkong’s Shizun, and he couldn’t out-stubborn him. So he decided to just treat it as his internet dn and let him do what he wanted.

Lu Yunzhen asked with concern, “Do you have a home?”

Mo Changkong answered quietly, “Wherever Shizun is, that is my home.”

Lu Yunzhen was taken aback.

His heart was inexplicably stabbed with this answer, and he felt a prickling pain. Belatedly he realized that this man had been sealed underground for many years and felt all kinds of suffering. By this point the world had changed and the stars had shifted, there was no longer anything left that was familiar to him.

There was nowhere for him, and no one for him.

He was probably hoping “Shizun” would take him in.

“Shizun, I know that I was wrong,” Mo Changkong lowered his head. There was a strain of fear in his voice, as if he was a beast that was facing a future of being abandoned, “Pl, please don’t chase me away.”

Lu Yunzhen rushed to comfort him, “Don’t be scared, I won’t chase you away.”

He had no experience in dealing with these supernatural matters, didn’t know any xuenxue specialists, and didn’t dare to hand him over to the police. Not to mention his own life had been picked up by this man, it was only reasonable to repay it.

Lu Yunzhen apologized, “I’m not exactly well off, it’ll be a little rough to stay here.... if you don’t mind, you should stay here. When you find a better place you can make plans then.”

Mo Changkong nodded with a lot of effort.

Lu Yunzhen was a man of action. When he made a decision he immediately set out to work on it. As soon as Mo Changkong had finished off the last of the noodle soup, he immediately shoved the man into the bathroom, took out the soap and shampoo, pointed out the location of the knobs, and then went to make the bed and grab a change of clothes.

The moment he turned around, he heard a “crack” coming from the bathroom followed by the sound of rushing water. He rushed back in only to see a naked Mo Changkong standing in front of a burst pipe, staring at the knob which he had torn off...

Lu Yunzhen said, “I made a mistake...”

He had underestimated the strength and perceptiveness of supernatural beings.

Luckily, poverty had trained Lu Yunzhen into being quite handy. There were also plenty of tools and spare parts that Grandpa had brought home. He hit the shut off valve, messed around for half an hour, and finally managed to repair the pipe.

He didn’t care to let Mo Changkong wash by himself again and thought that it was no big deal if two dudes were involved. He grabbed the loofah and shower stool, told Mo Changkong to sit down, and started to scrub vigorously.

Mo Changkong’s hair was long enough to almost reach the floor. It was filled with knots and Lu Yunzhen couldn’t untangle it no matter how hard he tried. When Mo Changkong noticed him looking slightly troubled, he immediately reached out, turned his finger into a blade, and cut his hair to shoulder length in one slash.

His hair was smooth.

Lu Yunzhen looked at the cut hair on the ground and hesitated, “Didn’t people in ancient times say that the body, hair, and skin were from the parents?”

Mo Changkong said, “En... I belong to Shizun.”

He was raised by Shizun. His hair, his body... everything belonged to Shizun.

Seeing that he really was unbothered, Lu Yunzhen relaxed. He cleaned up the hair then grabbed the loofah again and scrubbed with effort. This guy had stayed underground for much too long. He was so dirty that the water was rinsing off black. Lu Yunzhen carefully went over him again and again, spending over an hour and most of a bottle of body wash. After he finally washed out Mo Changkong’s original appearance, he grabbed a razor and cleaned up his face.

“Don’t move”. Lu Yunzhen’s method of shaving was rather old fashioned and it was easy to accidentally cut someone. He carefully held Mo Changkong’s face, got right up to it, and gentleness emanated from his fingertips.

His white t-shirt had been soaked since long ago and stuck to his body tightly, revealing what was underneath. His warm fingertips were placed on the face gently. Beneath his soft, short hair, his eyes were filled with steam, making Mo Changkong’s heart itch unbearably.

Back in Wujian Peak’s hotsprings, Mo Changkong had seen this beautiful sight many times. Back then he could not control his impulses, had grabbed his Shizun, and did many immoral things in the waters...

Shizun’s personality was rather conservative, and he was embarrassed easily. Even though he had been forced to agree to do these things, he was always worried about others finding out. No matter what he did, Shizun would always restrain himself to the extreme and not make a noise.

But he was unrelenting. Even though he loved him so much in his heart, he’d always purposely say shameless things, and force his Shizun to blush to his hears and be forced to beg.

“Changkong, stop talking...”

“Changkong, hurry and finish...”

“Changkong...”

...

“Changkong?”

The cheerful voice dragged Mo Changkong from his ancient recollections. He looked at the living, warm, laughing Shizun in front of him and realized he had made another mistake. While Lu Yunzhen wasn’t paying attention he secretly wrapped the towel around his waist a little tighter to hide the reaction he wasn’t supposed to have.

There were fingerprints on Shizuns neck, it was red and blinding.

The sword god who had once shaken the three realms and made every demon fear his name had fallen into mortal life, had been humiliated by such a minor demon, and had almost lost his life.

All of this was his fault...

If he hadn’t thirsted after Shizun’s body, disregarded ethics, indulged in his desires, and committed great crimes, none of this would have happened.

Shizun had forgiven him.

He needed to change himself, and be a true, good disciple...

He couldn’t think of such messy things anymore.

...

Lu Yunzhen stared at his handiwork with shock. He had thought Mo Changkong was some rough man, but after a wash and a trim.... he was amazingly handsome. His features were perfect, with six pack abs, a dorito figure, long legs, and pheromones surrounding his entire body. He was the type that could make the girls scream with just a few casual photos.

Unfortunately, there was a flaw in the jade.

Mo Changkong had been underground for many years, and without any sunlight his skin was deathly pale. His under eyes were shadowy as if he had smoky makeup. That, plus his scary tattoo, perfectly gave him an aura of darkness, like a demon that had fallen from the heavens.

This kind of guy wouldn’t even need makeup to play a villain in the movies.

Lu Yunzhen was a little jealous of the guy. He used his straight man sense of aesthetics to compare the gap of the two of them, and thought that even though Mo Changkong was handsome, he was just too scary and wasn’t the kind of soft man who would make girls happy. He must be just like Lu Yunzhen and would never get hitched....

Good bros have to be bachelors together!

Lu Yunchen was amused by his thoughts and couldn’t hold back his laughter, the more he looked at Mo Changkong the more pleasing he seemed.

Mo Changkong didn’t understand the laughter, but when he lifted his head, he saw that his Shizun’s eyes were like crescents, there were two little dimples by his mouth, the wet clothes were sticking to his figure, and his pants were so short that beautiful white thighs were swinging to and fro in front of his eyes...

HOLD BACK! I HAVE TO HOLD BACK!

After he had woken up, he had realized that the world had changed and everyone’s sense of shame had gone down. Girls walked around with their arms and legs out while shopping. There were even men and women playing around with only a few pieces of clothes at the seaside. It was so bold he really didn’t know where to put his eyes.

Shizun’s actions were much bolder than before, but there was definitely zero intention to seduce him....

He needed to get used to all of this soon.

He prayed for Shizun to never go to the beach...
