A two-meter-tall and three-meter-broad figure towered over the Mocalw Bear's corpse. The white semi-translucent color of the towering figure's outlines glimmered in a faint light.

The Spirit of the Mocalw Bear stared into the sky and it got up on its hind legs as it roared out loudly. Its conflicting emotions of sadness, anger, and despair were intertwined into the roar that resounded in the plains.

Zayn stared at the Mocalw Bear Spirit in satisfaction.

"Average talent, that's more than I expected," He mumbled while also taking into consideration that he had manifested the Spirit of the Mocalw Bear without losing a trace of its soul particles. The bear had already been weakened due to its fight with the Undead Wolves before it fought against Zayn and his Spirit but it still fought valiantly.

Only after making use of all the means available at their disposal was it possible for Zayn and his Spirits to survive until the monster finally succumbed to its wounds. Zayn manifested the Spirit not soon after with the remnants of the soul particles that dispersed from the body of the deceased and the soul particles attached to the Soul Wisp.

This resulted in the manifestation of a Spirit with half its Soulring completed!

Usually, monsters created their first soulring after their body began to overflow with soul particles. That way it wouldn't be a problem to create the whole Soulring in a single session. But even if most monsters followed the usual path a few exceptions existed.

One of those exceptions was the Mocalw Bear which had already created half of its first Soulring. The Soulring was also the reason why it was even stronger than Zayn had expected it to be, before and after killing it.

His new Spirit was very strong. In fact, it was the strongest amongst his Spirits in terms of physical strength.

Zayn was ready to test out a few things with his new Spirit when he heard the chirping of his two Sparrow Spirits from above. They dove down toward him and promptly shared their recent memories with him.

'What the hell is that?' He nearly blurted out loud. Zayn squinted his eyes and looked in the direction where the Sparrow Spirits had seen something charging in their direction.

It was the huge group of Goblin Skeletons that were advancing towards them.

'They shouldn't have heard the Mocalw Bear's roar.'

Zayn was not sure why they rushed in his direction all of a sudden but he predicted that they might have been ordered to go somewhere and that he was in their way. With that in mind, he reached for the Mocalw Bear Spirit and quickly climbed on top of the mount.

"Let's get out of here, first!" He ordered before turning over to the other Spirits. He glanced at the Dao Saber and the iron shield and muttered his next order while nodding his head subconsciously. "Herculean, you come up as well. Agile…you run behind."

The Agile Human Spirit was fast, and it had an infinite amount of stamina as a Spirit, to begin with.

Following the orders, the Sparrow Spirits returned to the sky while the Herculean Human Spirit got on the back of the Mocalw Bear Spirit. The Bear Spirit didn't seem pleased with the given situation but Zayn couldn't care less about that right now.

He pointed northwest and the Bear Spirit began to run tirelessly.

In the blink of an eye, more than ten minutes had passed. And to his surprise, they had put considerable distance between themselves and the Goblin Skeletons. But, instead of feeling happy, a frown appeared on Zayn's face.

"They're following us quite openly. Ordinary Undead shouldn't be able to sense the life force of a single Soulringless being over a distance of more than ten kilometers," Zayn thought out loud while scratching the back of his head.

He had nothing against fighting a few hundred Goblin Skeletons but things seemed to be too simple and easy to solve considering that it was suspicious. It didn't make sense for the Goblin Skeletons to have sensed him, in the first place, yet they were aiming precisely at him. Zayn might be mistaken about that and everything could be a coincidence but the possibility was slim.

Zayn had a bad feeling while recalling the large group of Goblin Skeletons he saw in the memories of the Sparrow Spirits as well. Something was wrong with the memories but he couldn't really put his finger on it.

The distance between him and the Goblin Skeletons continued to increase since the Mocalw Bear Spirit was much faster than the Goblin Skeletons.

This increased Zayn's suspicion of the given situation because it didn't make sense that the Goblin Skeletons, beings that followed their instincts, kept pursuing him.

It was only a matter of time before Zayn received a report from one of his Sparrow Spirits that there was a small village to his right.

Zayn chose to test something by riding past the village after taking a large detour around it. The Goblin Skeletons ignored the village in its entirety and continued to follow him.

If Zayn hadn't been suspicious of the situation before, his danger senses should have started to blare out warning signals by now.

But there was not much for him to do since the bad situation turned worse in the blink of an eye.

Several villages were reported to him only a few kilometers away from his current position! There were a bunch of Undead everywhere around him and it was almost as if Zayn was somehow releasing a unique scent that attracted all Undead as they charged at him.

'In that case, I might as well face this shit head-on!' He told himself, ordering the Mocalw Bear to turn back and charge straight at his opponents and a fight ensued.

In the end, Zayn found himself surrounded by hundreds of Goblin Skeletons only half an hour later. Numerous Goblin Skeletons had been defeated by Zayn and his Spirits by now, but their numbers kept increasing. The Goblin Skeletons had been charging at them for quite a while now, but things seemed to take a turn.

Yet, oddly enough the Undead stopped advancing toward him after a while. On the contrary, they retreated and something else attracted his attention.

'Somebody was searching for me….' He could only think at the sight of a bigger figure that walked through the hordes of Goblin Skeletons.

"Looks like my God led me to the correct person!" A hoarse voice resounded through the surrounding area as the Goblin Skeletons stepped aside, revealing a black-cloaked figure emerge in their midst.

The man stepped through the pathway that was cleared for him while pushing the cowl of his cloak back, revealing his face to Zayn.

That was a clear indicator that he wouldn't be allowed to flee, after all, he had seen the perpetrator, someone who was able to control the Undead that terrorized the central region.

However, that was the least problematic for him right now…

The more worrisome fact was that he looked like an older version of Phillip Cerk!
