The Black Necromancer

250 The Real Battle (2)

Leon had a serious expression etched into his skull as he stared down the Mid A rank that stood on the opposite side of him.

"I heard summoners are usually weak in close combat. But you have proved that truth to be a lie time and time again. You are an anomaly, and you need to be removed." The Demon said as he floated in the air.

As he spoke, a dark light shone from his back and multiple chains appeared, wriggling in the air behind him. The ends of the chains were tipped with a sharp spike. The Demon's eyes turned manic and a mad grin spread over his face.

"I love bones... Your bones will be very good for me!" When he made that insane declaration, his Domain and aura spread outward, immediately pushing against Leon's already deployed Domain.

The moment the two dark Domains came into contact, the Demon's Domain won out in strength, but Leon also glazed many details of the Demon's power from that brief moment.

"You are also a Necromancer!" Leon exclaimed in shock.

"Hehe, you are correct! But unlike an anomaly like you, I have taken special measures to ensure my safety in close quarters." The Demon growled as undead beings began to appear within his domain. Skeletons of all shapes and sizes began to appear with groans and moans. Zombies and, specters, wraiths were also present in the hundreds.

A heavy atmosphere descended as the Demon Necromancer spread his power. It was almost as if Death itself was peeking over the shoulders of everyone present. The skin at the back of their necks exploded with gooseflesh as they felt the cold embrace of death looming around the corner. Not even Leon possessed such a scary presence when compared with this Necromancer that had decades of practice while growing his power. In fact, one could even say that he had embraced Dearth even better than Leon who was an Undead!

Leon felt a chill run down his spine and he barely held himself together in front of that imposing presence. It was only by virtue of his strong mind that he withstood the terrifying pressure.

One thing with Necromancers was that they knew how to pressure the enemy more than what was actually possible. With the pressure coming from the Demon Necromancer, one would think that he was a Peak A rank, and not a Mid A rank.

As the man summoned his army that numbered roughly around a thousand, Leon felt something strange within his body. He could feel the souls of the Undead that made up the Demon's army reach out to him, as if pleading to him. He could not understand what was happening, though, so he quickly put aside the strange feeling and began summoning some more of his summons.

As the dark beings began to appear around him, the Demon Necromancer laughed.

"You are truly something. Your army is so large; how is that possible, huh? I wonder if your army will become mine when I add you to my collection." He smiled in a sickly way that made Leon want to make a disgusted face.

Nero and Aristodemus appeared within the army that Leon summoned to fight. The other elite summons were still fighting the army of gargoyles that Madox had brought with him.

The moment Nero and Aristodemus appeared, the army of the Demon sprung into action while the Demon took to the air and began to fling spells all around, trying to decimate Leon's army and give himself an advantage.

The strength of the Demon's spells were very high and explosive, and made Leon suspect whether his skills were already in the Advanced grade. It was a very real possibility when considering the age and rank of the Demon he was fighting!

Nero brandished his twin greatswords, and with a wave of his arms, the skeletons and zombies that made up the Demon's army were cut down by the dozen. Balls of fire bloomed overhead and rained down on Nero, but the Berserker Knight simply transformed the sword in his left hand to a shield that he held over his head to block the bombardment.

The magical assault of over a dozen Peak B rank Undead Skeleton Mages rained down around Nero, raising a cloud of dust and smoke that shrouded his form.

A moment passed after the bombardment ended as they waited to see if Nero had been overwhelmed. Unfortunately, that was their mistake.

Whoosh!

A flash of red light shone through the cloud of smoke before Nero's manifested weapon aura blazed out, slicing through almost twenty Skeleton Soldiers at a time. The only reason why more of them did not die was because the Undead Specters were behind the skeletons that had been killed. Their forms were sliced and disrupted by the burst of weapon aura, but they quickly coalesced together again and continued to march forward.

Mental attacks pounded against Nero's sturdy mind like a waterfall pounding on a rock, but something held firm within Nero. It was a combination of Leon's mental prowess, and the remnant of the soul that Nero's Partial Soul Reconstruction had been based on. The soul that had formerly inhabited the body that Nero's skeleton had been gotten from, had possessed a great mental prowess and resistance.

"Whoever stands against my Master shall bear my wrath!" Nero's shield disappeared and he held onto his sword with both hands, twisting his body around to build momentum before lunging at the Undead Specters with a fury.

His body lit up with bright red light, and red flames leaked out from underneath his black armor. It was not yet night time, so he could not activate his title, but even so, he was still very strong. He was mowing down the B rank summons of the Demon Necromancer like they were mere flies in his path. This sight made the Demon's greed begin to grow and grow, like a flame being fed fuel.
