The Black Necromancer

335 Addressing A Thousand (2)

Leon's words stumped the humans that were listening to his speed. They were already shocked and shaken enough by his looks and that of the beings behind him, but after being with Michael for some time, they had grown to adapt to it. Michael had specifically sought out people based on the criteria that he had used to pick Leon, so they were high adaptable. They had been many strange things during their stay with him, so they were not too startled by a talking skeleton.

Leon felt their shock and confusion and nodded his head.

"Yes, you will die. I will not tolerate any form of insubordination. If I see that you seek to act against my plans, then I will remove you from the face of the earth and turn you into my servant." He looked over the crowd.

"However, those of you that act outstandingly will naturally get rewarded. You will not be disappointed." He added.

As he rounded up, a shadow quickly approached from the distance. When it got closer, it became clear that it was Rakon, who was using a pair of see through wings on his back to fly. He landed a distance before Leon and went down on one knee.

"My Lord, I have arrived." He announced. When Leon had stepped out of the temple, he had called for Rakon through the mental connection that they vaguely shared.

"Rakon, I want you to take these soldiers and put them to work in the frontlines. The war is getting more heated at the flanks, correct? Assign them to posts there." Leon said.

The flanks of the battlefield was mostly where those of Low C rank and below fought. The stronger combatants focused their efforts on the center of the battlefield more. If these humans that were roughly between Mid D rank and Low E rank fought there, then they would surely be able to grow stronger while tempering their skills and minds.

"My Lord, I have a suggestion." Rakon said.

"Speak."

"My Lord, I suggest that we should put Sir Eugene as the head of these humans. He already has prior experience with leading people and has several skills that facilitate this ability. With him supervising them, I believe he would be able to put them to good use. Also, he has broken through to C rank, and will be able to handle himself well in the flanks." Rakon explained while bowing his head. He was a bit hesitant to suggest this to Leon, as he felt Leon would prefer for his father to be kept safe, but in his heart, he truly felt that this would be a great opportunity for Eugene.

"If you think that will be the best, then do so. But first, take me to see my father." Leon nodded. He did not doubt Rakon. The High White Millipede Royal had spent the most time with Eugene since they returned to Datar. Leon would have liked to be the one to do so, but his hands were full most of the time.

'After this war, I should spend more time with him.' Leon decided.

"Of course. Please, follow me, My Lord." Rakon stood and nodded. He then turned to the people that were staring at him. His eyes flashed with a silver power and he spoke up. "All of you will wait here until I return!" As soon as he spoke, the people nodded and sat on the floor, their eyes a bit hazy. Only after all of them had sat down did their eyes return to normal, but they knew to wait as they were.

Leon felt strange when he saw that. He turned to look at Rakon as they left the courtyard. "What was that? It seems to be a rather dangerous ability, depending on how it is used." Leon commented.

"It is a skill that I gained upon reaching B rank, My Lord. I can use my powers to induce thoughts or a state of mind onto others. Indeed, it is dangerous, depending on how it is used, but I serve none but the Lord, and this power will be used on your behalf, and in whatever way you deem fit." Rakon recognized Leon's intentions through his words and immediately exclaimed, bowing his head in subservience. He did not was Leon to doubt his devotion and loyalty.

"It's fine. Just make sure you know what you are doing when you use it, and that you don't use it too much." Leon waved his hand. He could tell Rakon was speaking the truth, and he did not doubt him in the first place, so he put the matter at the back of his mind.

As to why he had treated the humans from Earth as he did, it was quite simple. He was no longer the man he was in the past. Right now, with strength at the peak of what was achievable amongst mortals, Leon did not need to tread lightly over people's feelings.

Another thing that made him disregard how they felt was the fact that these people were once gangsters! Gangsters! There was no way he would treat them like babies. Their minds were supposed to be hardened already, seeing as they were already used to the tougher, bloodier side of life.

Before long, Rakon brought Leon and the elite summons to a house not too far from Leon's mansion. It was close to the center of Fort White, but not too close. Leon's sharp senses already captured the movements of a single person within the house. The person was in a meditative state, and Leon could see the flow of ambient mana revolving around the person.

"He is in the middle of a meditative state." Leon murmured as he contemplated on whether or not to disturb Eugene. But before he could decide, the man already ended the state and the mana around him calmed down.

"It seems like Fate wants us to talk today, huh." Leon scoffed and stepped forward. Their talk was long overdue.
