The Black Necromancer

491 Battle Of Valeant - Diversity of Laws (4)

Michael's plot was nothing too complicated, but that did not mean that it was easy to pull off. After all, he was fighting a Fate God like himself. If not for the fact that Deeno had to split his attention thanks to Asteria's attacks, it would have been much more difficult for Michael to pull it off, and he would have most likely failed.

What Michael did was simply to nudge Fate and mess with Deeno's perception of it. As Deeno tried to use Fate to predict the attacks of his opponents, the false information that Michael had planted would be supplied to him instead, allowing him to make false predictions.

It was thanks to this that Michael had been able to breach Deeno's defense.

His spear blurred and flashed through the space between them as he unleashed a flurry of attacks. The tip of the spear burned with a silver flame that looked to corrode the space between them. It was an immensely powerful application of one of the other Laws that Michael had spent some time on.

At the same time, the two other Gods from Leon's Undead Army provided support from a distance. Their attacks rained down on Deeno, only to be halted in the space around him for a few moments while he escaped.

As Deeno moved, all his hands moved with him. The hands that held daggers constantly flashed as they struck out at both Asteria and Michael. The hands with the shields constantly blocked the attacks that came his way. As for the hands with the hourglasses, the hourglasses that they held constantly let out a strange light that fused with the space around him. It was this effect that allowed him to block the attacks of the two Minor Gods.

Most Fate Gods were not individually powerful in battle, but Deeno was a war machine on his own. His body constantly moved and each movement seemed to carry the application of a powerful Law.

The Law that Deeno studied was that of Versatility.

In the vast Void, there was a powerful being that had made his name known among the endless worlds. His name was not as well known as his Title, the Versatile Fighting God.

What most did not know was that this Title was not exclusive to one God, but rather, a number of Gods that had merged together to hold this Title. His story was not well known, but what was known was that the merge between them was permanent and the group of Gods had now become one immensely powerful God. He was a God who had mastered every fighting style, whether it was with a weapon, or with his body. Even his finger could be considered a powerful weapon.

Deeno also practiced this Law in addition to the Law of Fate. That was how he was able to masterfully wield so many weapons without making any errors under so much pressure. The Law of Versatility and the way he applied it was also finely complemented by his Law of Fate.

On the other hand, Michael studied the Law of Fate and the Law of Might. At the time when he fought against the Gods, this Law that he studied had given him the strength he required to be able to resist their oppression and fight back against them. Every attack he made was imbued with the essence of this Law and increased their strength.

The only common thing between the two Fate Gods was the fact that they both practiced the Law of Fate. However, on the basis of the other Laws they practiced, Michael was supposed to have the upper hand. But in practice, it was not so.

Not only was Deeno's accumulation deeper than Michael's, but his membership in the Army of Destruction provided him with benefits that would normally not be present.

For every member of the Army of Destruction, no matter their strength, there would always be a buff that applied to them in battle, granting them slightly greater strength, speed and lethality than normal.

Because of this, the Gods and Celestial beings on the side of the Army of Destruction were able to display a much higher level of power than was normal.

Everyone on the side of Datar had already taken note of this. In Michael's situation, he would have been in deep trouble if not for the support from Asteria and the Gods from the Undead Army.

"Tch!" Deeno clicked his tongue as Michael's spear slipped past his shield and grazed the right side of his torso. His body was immediately forced back. Even though the attack had been a mere graze, a powerful kinetic force had been transferred onto his body, causing much more damage than it should have.

He raised his other shield to block Asteria's sword, but was baptized by a shower of red flames upon blocking the attack. A mere block was not enough to stop the explosion of flames that she had released upon being blocked.

In the span of a few seconds, a flurry of attacks rained down on Deeno in the dozens and he soon found himself on the passive side. He was shocked at the strength of Datar's Gods. While he was not a Peak Major God, he was not far from it. How these Gods from this mere middle sized world were able to pressure him this much was a mystery to him!

Bang!

The Hourglass Barrier that he had been using to hold off the ranged attacks of the Minor Gods shattered and a giant blue fireball came falling down on his head. He could only divert some of his attention and Divine Power to deflect the attack, but that left him open to an attack from Michael.

Whoosh!

Michael's spear, with its tip that burnt with a silver flame, stabbed through Deeno's defenses and stabbed into his chest, embedding itself inside his dense flesh and muscles!

BOOM!

An explosion of force and energy resounded through the sky as Deeno's body shot backwards. He soared through the sky and crashed into the side of a distant mountain, sending rocks and dust flying in all directions!
