Chapter 7: Sincerity

“Lao Yang has had some good luck in the past few days, spring is all over your face,” Lao Li asked his friend curiously about his good mood. “Did you manage to get the beauty you saw last time?”

“What nonsense, no beauty is more beautiful than your sister-in-law,” Yang Gang said seriously and waved his hand, “I dare not touch those wild flowers.”

Lao Li thought that Yang Gang was joking, but when he saw his serious expression, it seemed like he truly believed that his wife was the best and wouldn’t take a look at another woman.

Understanding Yang Gang’s attitude, Lao Li no longer mentioned the beauty, “I heard that you’ve negotiated a few big contracts recently. It seems like your luck has been good these days.”

“Not at all, they have been discussed before in the past. We are just finalising it recently.” Yang Gang thought about the master and felt immense gratitude in his heart. He had only just filled in the fountains no more than an hour ago, but he had already successfully negotiated a contract. It’s too magical!

“The southern city had a flood recently, you have to donate more.” Lao Li was a little bit jealous, and couldn’t help but pointed this out to Yang Gang.

But Yang Gang did not mind and nodded, “Definitely.”

Seeing Yang Gang’s joyful appearance, Lao Li was speechless, he felt like he had just punched cotton.

In recent years, there have been natural disasters in the south. Hail and floods had caused many people to suffer.  Whether they really sympathized with the victims or for the sake of their own image, the businessmen in Capital City gathered together and held a donation drive to donate money to the people in the disaster area.

Regardless of their intentions, the victims of the disaster really benefited, so people from all walks of life were happy to see this.

After the donation drive ended, Yang Gang was chatting with a few friends when he suddenly heard a voice.

“Fortunately, I listened to what my wife said and didn’t go to the south on a business trip, otherwise I would suffer this time. The master fortune-teller is a god.”

Hearing the word “master”, Yang Gang couldn’t help turning his head to look at the person who was speaking. He turned out to be a member of the Cen family. Although this person was not very capable, he was honest in his work, so he was able to have a decent role in the head office of the Cen family’s company. He was considered to be respectable among the crowd.

Others should respect him solely for his surname.

It might be that he was thinking about the master too much, or he was too reckless. He felt that the master mentioned by Cen Chun might be the expert who had seen Feng Shui at his house.

Only such a master was able to predict the future and knew someone’s fate like this. It was not someone money could buy.

Qi Yan, who attracted the attention of some wealthy people, was hiding in the house enjoying air-conditioning, eating ice cream, and playing games. Since Capital City had been so hot recently, he didn’t have the courage to step out of the gate.

Wang Hang had called him a few times to invite him for dinner, but he had refused due to the heat outside.

So when someone knocked at his door, he subconsciously felt that something was wrong. At this time, he didn’t order food, and there was no package to be delivered. Who would knock on his door?

The person who was knocking on the door seemed to be very polite. After knocking three times, he waited for a while before knocking twice and then continued waiting.

Qi Yan turned off the game and threw away the trash on the table. He walked to the door, looked outside and opened the door.

“Is this Master Qi?” A middle-aged man wearing a suit smiled at Qi Yan, “Master Qi, I’m sorry to bother you.”

Du Dong had heard that even though Master Qi was young, his methods were mysterious. He was very good at fortune-telling and analysing Feng Shui.

So when he saw Qi Yan walking out wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of jeans, he didn’t change his tone and bowed respectfully at Qi Yan.

Qi Yan did not shy away from his bow. He only looked at the two young men behind him and nodded lightly, “Please come in.”

“Thank you master.” Du Dong’s chubby face was filled with bean-sized sweat. He bent his body slightly and stepped into the house. Then, he took off his shoes carefully, afraid to dirty the floor.

When the two young men behind him saw that, they obediently followed their boss and took off their shoes.

Qi Yan saw the three men standing by the door barefoot and said, “There was no need to do that.”

“It’s what we should do.” Du Dong took out a handkerchief and wiped his face. He said bitterly, “Please forgive us for showing up without warning. It’s just that we have no one to turn to and did such a rude thing out of desperation. We are so sorry.”

Qi Yan smiled lightly and sat down by the mahogany coffee table. Then he poured four cups of tea and invited the three to sit down, “Since you’re able to find me, it’s fate. Please sit down and have a cup of tea.”

Du Dong saw that the master’s face looked so young. He was at most in his early twenties, but his words and deeds were full of mystery and unpredictability. He even felt that the young master had true abilities, so his attitude became even more pious. “Thank you for the hospitality, master.”

The tea leaf was from a very common bamboo, but for some reason, Du Dong felt that the tea here was more flavorful than those that he had elsewhere.

“Master, my surname is Du. Fortunately, my ancestors have blessed me in the past few years. I have acquired some assets. If the master doesn’t mind, please call me Lao Du.” Du Dong took the initiative to introduce himself, and his small eyes were squeezed together. He looked chubby and a little comical.

Qi Yan put down his tea cup and observed Mr. Du’s face. He had a difficult young life but a comfortable midlife, but after his middle age, his career began to fluctuate, and it would not stabilize until he was fifty years old.

His luck was white and reddish, which was not considered good, but it was better than most ordinary people. The most important thing was that Qi Yan saw that his eyebrows were very well-shaped, and he was a man of goodwill and kindness.

Qi Yan was stubborn, and he tended to rely on his eyes and mood to decide whether he would help the person or not. He was in an average mood today. Although Du Dong looked ugly and didn’t have a good figure, he was willing to listen to his request.

“What made Mr. Du come here today?”

Mr. Du told his experience with a bitter expression. His mother and wife were ill. Even the company was not going well. He had lost 10 kg this month from worrying.

Glancing at Du Dong’s body that didn’t seem thin, Qi Yan took a sip of tea, “So Mr. Du wants me to take a look at your Feng Shui?”

“Some fortune tellers said that I bring bad luck to my parents, my wife and my children.” Du Dong held the teacup and drank the tea inside. “Master, please tell me if it is so bad?”

“Mr. Du must be joking,” Qi Yan smiled and shook his head, “If you have such a fate, how can you have the chance to marry a wife and have children. Unless you are Emperor Kangxi, you and your wife would not have lasted till marriage.”

“Well, according to what you said, I am not destined to be alone?” Du Dong’s small eyes burst with hope, and he looked at Qi Yan with scorching eyes, as if as long as Qi Yan said no, his family’s bad luck could all dissipate.

“It’s not easy to be destined to be alone,” Qi Yan wiped his index finger across the red clay tea cup and wiped off a drop of tea on it. “Mr. Du is not a lone star. In fact, you have the life of someone who has a good wife and filial children. I think the fortune teller that you met before had calculated wrong.”

This was a tactful remark, but Du Dong and his two assistants knew that the previous fortune teller was probably a scammer.

“Since I am not a lone star, why are all the people in my family having problems, but I am fine?” Du Dong was a little discouraged. Although Qi Yan denied the idea of him being a lone star, he still felt that he had made his family sick, so he felt anxious.

This was a man who cared about his family very much, so he paid a lot of attention to his family, but the troubles in his company were rarely mentioned.

“Mr. Du’s company has a problem, isn’t it your fault?” Qi Yanpicked up the teapot and refilled Du Dong’s tea. “You care about your family too much, but ignore yourself.”

The bitterness in Du Dong’s smile became more intense. Holding the tea cup in both hands, and raising it above his head, he said, “Please help me, master!”

Qi Yan turned his head and looked out the window with a solemn expression, “After seven o’clock tonight, I will go with you.”

“After seven o’clock?” Du Dong was confused. Looking at the bright sunshine outside the window, did the time matter?

“Then master, why don’t we go out for dinner now?” Du Dong said politely, “I heard that there is a very good seafood restaurant nearby. If master doesn’t mind, we can go there to try it.”

“It’s hard to find parking there.”

“Since it’s not too far away, let’s walk there?”

“No, it might rain soon, we should just order takeaway.” Qi Yan picked up the phone and ordered a meal for four people, and then he said to the dumbfounded Du Dong, “I prefer to eat at home.”

Du Dong didn’t care if Qi Yan made any sense, he just nodded vigorously.

It was not the peak time for dinner, so the takeout came quickly. Du Dong rushed to pay the bill, and then put the packaged food on the table.

In the middle of eating, it started raining. Du Dong and the others heard the sound of raindrops splattering and there was a look of admiration in their faces.

Qi Yan put his phone in front of the three people, “There was a yellow warning on the weather forecast an hour ago.”

Du Dong suddenly felt that the master was indeed a master. He was sincere and did not try to be mysterious. At first glance, he was a man of integrity.

There was hope for his family.
