The Fantasy Entertainment Empire

Chapter 226 Screen Design

Ye Jiayi didn't deliberately leave Xu Ziting alone.

Although she was unhappy in the previous cooperation, her mentality is not so fragile. Even if she was still brooding about the previous events, she wouldn't be so childish to deliberately fight against her just to vent her anger.

As for asking the assistant to refuse Xu Ziting's meeting, it was mainly because she was too busy recently.

Such as the commercial preparation of "Martial Arts Master", "4.6 Billion Ensemble of Evolution" will also be launched, the further copyright development of "Hell Apartment", and the plan for overseas release...these are all things she has to deal with.

No matter how shrewd and capable Ye Jiayi is, she is only one person, and it is impossible to carry all the work on her body. Therefore, the work of sharing the box office of "Hell Apartment" with Lotus Leaf Films was handed over to others.

For Dimension Entertainment, the most important project is always the next one.

However, the project "Martial Arts Master" still has certain pressure on Dimension Entertainment. Converted down, the entire project is expected to invest more than 500 million yuan.

This is the investment of the top and most first-line TV series in China. Such a large investment volume is also one of the reasons why many practitioners in the industry are very excited about this project.

But if you spend so much money all at once, even Dimension Entertainment will feel a lot of pressure.

At present, Ye Jiayi has initially prepared almost 100 million funds for the filming of this TV series. At the same time, a number of investment institutions have provided another 100 million funds to participate in this project.

While the rate of return given by Dimension Entertainment is relatively good, their past performance also makes investors full of confidence.

As for the other 300 million funds, it comes from Dimension Technology. Needless to say, the "money" of Dimension Technology must be used in the post-production of TV dramas.

With sufficient funds, the progress of the entire project has become faster. The script has now been polished, and the screenwriting department under Dimension Entertainment is now full of talents. Li Qingzhao and several screenwriters worked together to create several versions of the script.

In fact, the work related to the script started very early. At the beginning, when Dimension Entertainment bought the copyright of "Martial Arts Master", the script compilation work was already in progress.

And when Fan Zhe had the idea to transform this work into a film and television, more refined polishing of the script was put on the agenda.

Now, after many discussions and revisions, this version of the script, in Fan Zhe's opinion, is still very good. Basically kept the spirit of the original. Moreover, under his instruction, the screenwriters did not make too many adaptations of some difficult scenes to shoot. After all, with the support of the dimensional system behind it, many scenes that are difficult to achieve in traditional shooting will become a bright spot in this drama.

In addition to the script, Fan Zhe also spent a lot of effort on the initial conceptual design.

In fact, there has been some progress in the conceptual design of this work in the early days. Artists in many companies have been designing and drawing for the works in the company's copyright library when they have not specifically joined a certain project. Among them, "Martial Arts Master" is a hot topic, and many painters are very interested in it, so they have accumulated a lot of pictures.

Many of these design drafts do not seem suitable now, but there are also many that can be used directly. Including Fan Zhe himself, also drew some conceptual design drawings.

The design he made basically determined the overall style of the work.

In his vision, "Martial Arts Master" should be a sunny and passionate work, and the style of painting will not be dark. The several conceptual design drawings he made are also dominated by warm tones, and the pictures are exquisite and beautiful.

One of them is a picture of the main character Lou Cheng playing an official game for the first time.

It was a group arena.

The protagonist, Lou Cheng, is wearing a martial arts uniform, showing heroism between his fists and feet. He visualized an image of an avalanche, and punched the opponent with a heavy fist.

Of course, Fan Zhe's hand skills need not be questioned. However, when he drew this picture, he encountered many difficulties.

There are no technical problems, but it does not mean that the design is so smooth.

In this work, squid, the original author of "Budao Grandmaster", has a setting that will drive the designer very crazy: visualization.

For example, in this picture, the main character used the 'big avalanche' trick.

According to the setting of the original book, this trick requires the user to visualize the picture and scene of the snow peak collapsing in their minds, and then cooperate with their strength to punch with a special force technique, which is as fierce as an avalanche.

Then this brings a huge problem to the designer: how to show the character visualizing the avalanche while the character is punching and attacking?

This is a particularly troublesome thing.

Of course, if you want to save trouble, you can choose to remove the visualization part. But Verzhe certainly wouldn't do that, and that would take away a considerable part of the work's action scenes.

In order to make this design, he scratched off an unknown number of hairs.

To this end, he drew several layouts. Some of them are represented by imaginary pictures outside the brain. However, the fusion of such a visual image with the actual battle scene is not ideal, and it looks very strange.

Then Fan Zhe designed another version. He turned the 'Avalanche' into a special effect and displayed it on his fists and feet. Just like in some movies, games or animations, the light and shadow special effects when the character releases skills, it looks much more comfortable, and it is very powerful and domineering.

However, after careful consideration and comparison with the description in the original book, Fan Zhe gave up this version of the design.

Regarding this battle, the protagonist had just practiced martial arts at that time, and his level was still relatively low, ranging from amateur first rank to professional ninth rank, so he should still belong to mortals. In this way, playing such a fantasy fist move, no matter how you look at it, it feels unreasonable, and the style is quite different from the original book.

After all, the selling point that Fan Zhe wants to give this work is still the hard-core fighting from fist to flesh. It's not very good to come up with so many bells and whistles at the beginning.

The most important thing is to make the moves so grand and cool at a low level, then how to show their moves when they meet real inhuman powerhouses later on?

After many considerations, Fan Zhe was still cautious and gave up the design of this version, and finally chose the third version: background visualization.
