I was unpacking in the tent that had been assigned to me.

"Thank God you have a tent for one," I said to Hippopo, who was in the tent with me.

The tent seems to be the second largest in the encampment after Kalene's.

That alone clearly conveys that Kalene appreciates and expects this from me. And perhaps it is also meant as a message to the others in the encampment.

However, the only thing they really prepared for us was a tent. There is no floor and the ground is bare. It seems that Karin knows me well.

"Watch the boy a little longer," I ask Hippopo about the white lizard, who is still not waking up.

After I finish treating the carpet I have prepared with the scroll of "purification", I lay it directly on the ground.

"Oh, it's about time. Thank you, Hippopo," I say, accepting the white lizard from Hippopo. I place the white lizard on the cushion I have put out in the corner of the room.

Hippopo. I return Hippopo to the scroll and say, "Good night for a while.

He looks for another scroll.

"I rarely use it these days. ....... Oh, there it is. Rose.

A rose appeared in the corner of the room. It is rooted near a white lizard and has a large flower. Rose, it looks like a plant, but it is a splendid creature just like Hippopo.

"Rose, first we need to make a bed for her. Especially a sturdy one."

The ivy grows in response to my instructions. The ivy burrows under the white lizard and lifts it vertically from the ground. When the lizard is about my waist height, it then spreads out around me and weaves itself into a cage-like shape. The intricate mesh of the weave is exactly as I had requested.

"Thank you. Yes, that's good. Now I'll just need a standard type of tent for the area," I continue to ask Rose.

Rose shakes a large rose to convey her approval.

Ivy immediately spreads throughout the tent. First, the ivy gets under the carpet and lifts it up evenly. Once insulated and well ventilated, Rose's ivy weaves its way up to my furniture.

A bed frame, a desk and a chair. And a table for experiments.

I put a thin mattress from my backpack on each of them and cover them with a cloth.

Rose is an alchemical beast I made when I was a student. She was a great help to me when I went on fieldwork expeditions and stayed for long periods of time. It was so comfortable that several of us, including Karin, who happened to be taking the same class with me, got into the place and disturbed me, which is a good memory now.

I continue my work, remembering the old days. The rose ivy was safely woven into the necessary furniture and the room was almost ready to be used. A voice comes from outside.

"Master Rust, I have brought a patient with an endemic disease. May I come in? And that's Ary's.

And so my work at my new office began.
