I hold a pendulum in one hand and deploy a scroll of transcription. I am trying to figure out why monsters are not to be found in these ruins.

There is nothing strange about any of the buildings that I first checked. They are all just ruins. Taura seemed to get bored there and walked away to look around on her own.

Next, I was walking slowly, examining the ground of the entire site. Roa was following me, looking a bit bored.

"Whoa! You're reacting. Is the concentration of the magical element slightly high here?"

It was a while after we started walking. I couldn't help muttering to myself. I was holding a pendulum over my head as I walked, and at a certain point, the pendulum reacted.

I crouch down, paying attention to the movement of the gemstone on the tip of the pendulum.

The pendulum vibrates violently as it approaches the ground.

I examine the ground closely, but it is the same cobblestone as the rest of the site. The scroll of the transcription does not reveal anything strange.

I get down on all fours and move the pendulum from the area in all directions.

"What do you see?"

"Oh, down here! There is a line of magical elements here. It's like there's a line from here to there, a line where the magical elements are darker than the others, under the ground."

I point at the ground toward Roa and tell him, moving my hand.

"Is that unusual?"

"No, actually, it's quite common. Especially magic circles. They are made of lines of magical elements. You know, magical elements are floating in the air. Magic circle is the part of the magic circle that is especially thick. If I were to use an analogy, it would be like collecting sand in a sandbox and drawing a picture," I tell him, pointing to the scroll of the developing transcription.

"Hmmm. And the magic circle is under there? Rohr seemed uninterested in the explanation part.

"Maybe, maybe. And if this is a magic circle, it's pretty big.

"If it's a magic circle, is there someone maintaining it?" And Roa looks alarmed at once.

"Hmm. "Well, I can't say. Maybe it's a continuous installation. Let's just move along this line of magical elements.

Slowly holding the pendulum just above the ground, we began to move.

We started to move.

"Does it continue outside the ruins ......?"

The line of magical elements was not what I had imagined, and it did not seem to be a magic circle. It is not closed like a magic circle.

"Do you want to go back to tell Taura?"

"...... I guess so. This is a bit, I don't know what's going on down there. Let's go home just in case.

I left only a landmark at the spot and started back the way I came with Loa to meet up with Taura.
