The Legend of Fatality

Chapter 854: Dragon Valley

The path that extends from the avenue leads straight to the top of the mountain, then slopes to the right and turns into a valley. Bai En can see that they have entered a narrow and barren valley.

The air here is filled with an unpleasant smell, a pungent odor mixed with mist. It smelled like Bai En and others walking outside the tannery rather than in the valley. Even the grass on the hillside of this place has a yellowish color. It was as if the evil forces belonging to the dragon had penetrated into the surroundings and corroded the earth.

Bai En realized that he had seen similar things in the waste soil eroded by evil forces before. It's almost like the effect of this land being corrupted by magic stone.

Mackason stopped his carriage at the intersection and began to search inside. He took out some devices one by one and tied them around his chest.

Bai En recognized some of them. One is the portable Gatling gun that Warwick brought into Gunter Grimm. Others are the big bombs he clipped on his strap. The last one was a long hollow tube. He put a cannon ball into the tube and threw it on his shoulder.

"I am going to visit the beast now," Mackason said, walking down the slope. Guerrerogan nodded his head in agreement, then moved his thumb along the edge of the axe, producing a string of blood beads.

"Come out, the dragon!" Guerrero groaned. "My axe is thirsty."

"I hope you don't do that." Bai En whispered softly.

Guerrerogan glanced at Bain and walked towards the path, advancing side by side with Mackason.

"Snowry thought it would be a wonderful fight." Snowry said happily, he raised two weapons, collided a bit, made a clear sound, and set off behind them.

"I want to know if there are any sheep around here. I need to relax," Bijonni blinked at Baine, said with an expression you know, and shrugged, striding toward the hillside. Dular also followed with him. With only a few humans left, Steiger and Uli stood on top of the mountain.

"I think someone should guard this carriage," Wu Li murmured. He looked a little ashamed, and he didn't even dare to look at Bai En with his eyes. Bai En did not blame him. He himself was not willing to face the dragon himself.

"I think so too," Steig said, staring at the carriage and not looking at others. "There must be a lot of valuable things here."

Then Uli and Steig looked at each other, seeming to understand each other's thoughts. Both of them seem more and more embarrassed.

Bai En looked at the two dwarves until the awkward expression on their faces became more and more unnatural. "I always thought that those who swear should seek heroic death."

"I think so too." Angelica agreed.

Wuli stared at his feet. Steiger stared at the sky. Both of them looked scared.

Perhaps the oath takers are not all lunatics like Grey Logan or Snowry, Bai En thought. He shook his head helplessly, not going to persuade them. Then strode into the Dragon Valley. Angelica and her bodyguard followed, holding a bow ready to fight at any time. Eisenheim-Schneider cast a glance at Uli and Steiger mixed with sympathy and contempt, then strode into the valley.

Shortly after entering the mist in the valley, Bai En was horrified to find something crunching under his feet. He looked down and saw that he was stepping on a dark and crisp branch. After a while, he realized that it was a pile of burnt bones.

"Well, I think we can guess what happened to the others who came here," he whispered. He wanted to speak out bravely, but something in the air forced him to quiet down.

"Yes," Angelica agreed, then added, "But I don't think we can always guess."

Her words sounded like he felt stupid. In a way, he thinks it really is. He took a deep breath and tried to stay calm. His fingers clenched the hilt, a new force and determination flowed in.

Bai En felt that he should be angry that his body and will were taken away by this sword, but in fact he was very grateful for this. He wondered if he would not consider approaching this beast if he did not carry this weapon.

He was also shocked by the bravery of Angelica and her followers. They didn't even need to come here, nor did they have the power of a magical sword to encourage them.

He believes that his courage has been tested in his encounter with the thirsty blood-killing lord under Gunter Grimm. The devil is, after all, the existence of evil gods.

But in some ways, the situation here is even worse. In that ancient dwarf city, he had no possibility of running away. He was trapped with the dwarf. There is nothing else to do except to stand up and fight. But now, he doesn't have to be here.

Nothing can stop him from escaping, or returning to Uli and Steiger. The warriors without evil gods, like Gunter Grimm, blocked him from returning to the ground. He was not buried deep underground.

He knew that, in some ways, he was no longer even bound by the great death vow that he would record Grerogan. Just the other night, he desperately proposed to elope with Angelica. However, here ~ www.wuxiaspot.com ~ he is advancing towards that fog, towards the nest of a dragon, obviously out of his own free will.

This reminded him of the first time he saw the dragon on Fatalin Island, he ran away fatelessly. At that time, the dragons were much smaller than this giant dragon. There is nothing embarrassing about choosing to escape now. For Baine, the most important thing in this world is survival for any living thing.

But things are not that simple. He is still bound by a complex series of events, dependence and emotions. He is still somewhat loyal to Guerrerogan. He didn't want to look like a coward in front of Angelica and others. He didn't want to destroy his image.

He knew he despised Wu Li and Steiger's cowardice, although he knew their feelings very well. But he didn't want to be like them. He also didn't want Angelica, Eisenheim Schneider and others to have the same view of him.

In fact, running away is not easy. The orcs and robbers were everywhere on the mountain. There was no way for a person to go back, and even the two timid dwarves were willing to accompany him.

He wondered whether Uli and Steiger realized this. He suspected that under all his emotions, the power of the sword in his hand was working on him, pushing him in the direction that the sword wanted him to go.

Bai En wants to know if other people are in a similar dilemma, and whether they can also feel mixed emotions as complicated as he is. It is difficult to judge from their serious expressions. It seems that each of their faces is a mask for perfect self-control. Every hand is stable for everyone.

Bai En did not want to do this, but somehow he had to do it again, so he continued to put one foot in front of the other, making sure that every step he took was closer to death.
