The Legend Of The Rune Master

Sitting on a tree branch, dragx had concluded that the lynx was now physically and magically weak and it would be a waste if he didn't take advantage of this golden opportunity.

"Well dragx are you serious about this? I won't help you at all in the fight." Zayde cautioned.

Dragx snorted and said, "oh please Zayde, I've fought most of my battles ever since I entered the beast wilds."

"No,no,no,no,no,no, master you can't let this human fight it! If you do we'll die!"  Agni screamed.

"Just keep Agni under control." Dragx said as he jumped from the tree and started moving towards the lynx.

The lynx was ecstatic, after nearly two hundred years it had finally become strong, it had suffered much on it's path to power and had many close calls. But now it was by far stronger than the average beast. However presently it was weak and it needed to flee and recuperate.

Dragx sighed with relief as Zayde blocked the screaming Agni's cute high pitched voice. As he neared the lynx he activated the imperial knight of the flame circuit while running. The flame armor coiled completely around his body and he charged towards the lynx.

The lynx sneered as it sensed the  magical presence of a beast. It was enraged as the beast was rushing towards it. Under normal circ.u.mstances it would flee as it was far too weak. But judging by the  power of the ripples the beast heading towards it was a F ranked beast.

There was no way it would run from such a weak elemental. The lynx growled as it awaited it's latest victim. In fact this beast might be a good snack to gnaw on while it's strength is restored.

This was what dragx was hoping for, he needed the lynx to underestimate him; something dragx was not going to do as even though the lynx was now an A ranked beast, it was still a celestial and probably many decades old.

Dragx circulated his magic throughout the suit and burst towards the lynx at breakneck speeds. When he arrived a few metres in front the lynx he shouted, "Lynx, today I will defeat you, so prepare yourself!"

The lynx looked at the beast standing before it and laughed.

It's loud alluring female voice spread throughout the area. She couldn't help but laugh at the deranged creature, in her two hundred year existence she had never seen a beast which was shaped like a human but had a core or a beast crazy enough to challenge another beast that is a whole realm above it. Surly this beast was some deformed abomination.

Thus she decided that this crazy beast would probably not be healthy to eat....

But she would still kill it, as she could not have this thing following her around, especially at a time like this, she decided to kill this pitiful creature as fast as possible.

"So its a female huh." Dragx thought. Before the lynx sprung forward as quick as light and clawed at him.

Dragx's training kicked in and he quickly summoned his sword to block the Lynx's attack. A loud clank sounded as crystal claws and his sword collided.

The lynx then opened her large mouth and bit at dragx's head. He quickly gathered a ball of fire in his left hand and shot it into the lynx's face. The large beast screamed and jumped back and clawed at it's face.

Utilizing the opportunity dragx sprung forward and slashed at the lynx's front leg. Dragx's sword barely tore through it's fur and only managed to enrage the lynx.

The lynx snarled and jumped forward and formed a shield of ice around it's head and slammed into dragx, sending him flying. Dragx's body slapped into a tree and fell to the ground. He's c.h.e.s.t pained him and metallic tasting blood gushed up into his mouth.

Dragx ignored the pain and swiftly rose to his feet, only to see that lynx had covered the distance between them, her beautiful blue claws were extended and her large mouth was once again wide open, though this time it was full of frost; dragx doubted that his fire magic be able to harm it now.

Instead of being frozen in fear or ducking to the side as the lynx thought, dragx stomped towards her, her paws quickly closed behind him, hindering him from dodging; leaving only one place for him to go, into her mouth.

She would then snap his neck and leave the body behind. But in the last moment dragx rolled under her. She was in mid-air so she couldn't change directions all she could do was focus on landing.

After landing she swiftly looked around, searching for the wretched creature. But no matter where she looked, she couldn't find him.

Dragx had took to the skys after he rolled under the lynx. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to remain hidden any longer, dragx carefully condensed fire magic around his sword and slashed downward. An arch of fire fell from the heavens and struck the lynx's back.

She roared as the fire scorched her back at the same time dragx was falling towards her quickly. He mustered as much strength as he could and wrapped as much fire magic as possible around the blade of the sword slashed as he came close to her neck.

A loud clang followed by a fizzing sound was made as dragx's sword slammed and then sunk into the beast's neck; however the sword didn't even go six inches into the reinforced ice muscles.

The sizzling sound was not only because of the spilled cyan blood but also the ice magic that was rising up the sword and was canceling out the fire magic wrapped around the sword. The ice was now climbing up the sword and over his hand!

"How.....dare...you! You are only a weak elemental!" The lynx's deep female voice trembled with rage. Who was this creature!? It had the audacity to harm her! She must kill it at any cost!

Dragx pulled on the sword as hard as he could. He needed to remove it, but it was covered in frost. The lynx began to shake and buckle, throwing dragx and his sword off violently. He crashed a few feet away from both the lynx and his sword.

"This is bad." Dragx thought as he subconsciously began to circulate fire magic through the suit, hoping to harden it.

He stood firm, ready to dodge or attack the angered beast. A warm feeling spread throughout his body as he prepared to launch fire attacks at any moment. Both opposing parties hadn't expected the other to be so formidable.

"It's time I teach you your place in the world!" The lynx growled as the temperature suddenly dropped.

Dragx took a step back as the lynx rolled her shoulders as if preparing to pounce. Suddenly the frost oozing off it's body quickly formed a circle around both of them.

"This isn't good I need to -"

Dragx thoughts were cut off as the frost rose to the air and formed a huge dome. The frost then hardened into form sturdy looking ice dome.

"This is where you die!"
