Hi, everybody. I have recently started a new novel called I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History. You can read it HERE.

In the end, when they met last time, Mother Shen didn’t hide her love for Xu Xinduo. Once, she even jokingly said that it would be great if she had a daughter-in-law like Xu Xinduo.

Mother Shen was not one to crack a joke so simply. That was why he knew, if her position in the family was officialised, the Shen family might be able to accept a change in the marriage partner for their son.

That was because Xu Xinduo was truly excellent.

Mother Shen was someone who loved to make comparisons and enjoyed being in the spotlight of pride. In short, she liked to be praised.

The importance of Xu Xinduo to Yin Hua, paired with the sudden emergence of her brilliance in this generation and becoming the better child, made Mother Shen think that she seemed to like Xu Xinduo more.

The feeling of the comparison between her potential daughter-in-law and the prodigal girl made Mother Shen sleepless at night. Therefore, she simply ran over to hint a few things to Father Mu.

However, he did not express his opinion towards that. He even thought that it would be a better option for her to marry Tong Yan if she could.

On one hand, Shen Zhuhang was Father Mu’s ‘guarantor’ and could not be lost; on the other hand, Tong Yan didn’t intend to give up either.

Therefore, he wanted to maintain a good relationship with Xu Xinduo. The current timing was also a key opportunity to solve the identity problem as well.

If the Shen family would insist on changing the marriage candidate even after Xu Xinduo’s identity was publicly revealed, Father Mu was still deep in thought— a dilemma between taking the stable and safer route or aiming for a position that was higher than the mountains.

Throughout his entire thought process, he never once thought about Xu Xinduo’s personal opinion.

He only thought about which son-in-law would be more helpful to his career whereas Mu Qingyao had gradually been regarded as an abandoned child by Father Mu.

After Xu Xinduo and Tong Yan took Grandma Xu back home, the three bought a bunch of ingredients together and sat at the restaurant table to make some dumplings.

At the beginning, Xu Xinduo chopped up some dumpling fillings and Grandma Xu directed Tong Yan to mix the dough. The three of them worked well together.

Soon, they started to make the actual dumplings.

Grandma Xu looked at the dumplings made by Tong Yan and said with a smile, “I’ll say, I was wondering why the dumplings made by Duoduo were sometimes alright, but sometimes they were really bad. It turns out that your levels are different, after all.”

Tong Yan was really actively participating, but the dumplings were not as nicely wrapped by him. He couldn’t do anything as he let out a sigh,”Sigh, what should I do? I am not as good as you two. Could it be that my hands are not as nimble as yours?”

Grandma Xu immediately praised him, “Yours look pretty nice too— they look like golden ingots, swollen and plump.”

Due to the presence of Grandma Xu, Xu Xinduo and Tong Yan could not address the other things during the whole process. The current topic was sprung on in an attempt to evade the other, which made Xu Xinduo a little silent.

As she was making dumplings, she pondered about what sort of tricks was Father Mu trying to pull.

Grandma Xu was a little unhappy as she said, “I can’t watch the Spring Festival Gala program here.”

Knowing that Xu Xinduo was still in her absent-minded state, Tong Yan took over the job of chatting with Grandma Xu, “There is no Spring Festival Gala at this time.”

Grandma Xu retorted, “There’s the ‘Spring Festival Evening Countdown’ and the ‘Spring Festival Evening Express Train’. There are several channels that broadcast the program.”
