In the end, Xu Xinduo didn’t eat the breakfast that Tong Yan prepared. After washing up quickly, she changed her clothes and went downstairs.

In fact, Xu Xinduo became nervous when she was walking in the stairwell. She wanted to head out directly, but she felt that Tong Yan was actually innocent. Hence, walking out like this would hurt him.

Finally, she walked to the opened door of the kitchen.

They never really used this kitchen, so most of the items were displayed like decorations. There was nothing to do in the kitchen anyways, as only the refrigerator was full of dazzling treats— mostly consisting of drinks and snacks.

Tong Yan had no choice but to make some porridge and a side dish of salad.

Xu Xinduo stood at the door and said to Tong Yan, “I still have to go to work, so I won’t be eating.”

Tong Yan was rummaging around for some plates, but when he heard this, he stood up and asked, “Your stomach is rather weak, how can you do without breakfast?”

“Deyu will buy some sandwiches for me.”

“I made some porridge, would you like a drink?”

“No thanks, it’s easy to go to the washroom after drinking it. I rarely ever drink water before my photoshoots.”

Tong Yan stopped and said to Xu Xinduo, “I will go to school in the afternoon. I’m living on-campus this semester, so I was told to clean up the dormitory this afternoon.”

“Oh, I applied to not live on-campus, so I won’t be going there.”

“Mm, I know. You would have to go to school by yourself tomorrow.”

Xu Xinduo stared at Tong Yan for a while as her face portrayed a complex mix of expressions. She subconsciously began to bite her nails before she said vaguely, “Tong Yan, for this short while, do not provoke me, don’t talk to me and don’t be intimate with me…”

“To avoid suspicion at school?”

“No, I’m worried that I can’t control myself and would have to kill someone to silence them.”

“…” Tong Yan swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

He thought about it and walked towards Xu Xinduo, wanting to make it clear to Xu Xinduo that he really didn’t care about how others perceived them so she didn’t need to be so shy.

As a result, Xu Xinduo took two steps back and warned him, “If you come any closer, I’m going to make my move now.”

“Okay… I’ll be obedient, but you have to tell me a deadline, don’t you? Don’t make me wait for nothing.”

“The contract is still here.”

“Are you kidding me? I won’t be able to help it. Five days at most and we’ll go to the apartment on weekends.”

Xu Xinduo didn’t answer as she pointed towards the knife in the kitchen.

Tong Yan hesitated for a while before he nodded, “Okay, I’ll be good. I won’t provoke you, but you can provoke me at any time. Also, call me if you need anything.”

“Mm, alright,” After Xu Xinduo answered him, she turned her head and ran away.

Tong Yan ruffled his hair. Letting out a long sigh, he took out the porridge to eat by himself. After having two mouthfuls of it, he added some sugar in it till it was sweet enough to his liking before he continued to eat.

His phone rang at this moment and he saw that Xu Xinduo had actually sent him a message to explain her behaviour: [I don’t hate you, I’m the one that…]

Tong Yan typed and replied to her: [You’re the one that?]

Xu Xinduo: [I’m the one who feels shy when I see you.]
