The Lost Fruits

Chapter 39 - Does This Deserve Death?

When she heard her father's command, Jasmine was confused for a moment, it didn't make any sense, none of it.

"What is going on here?" When she spoke, everyone looked at her. Jafar had a surprised expression.

"I thought I had said no one enters?" He spoke.

Jasmine glared at him "I am the princess, I enter wherever I wish to." She replied to him. Then she looked at her father "Father, mind explaining what is going on here?" She asked looking at Ace whos hands were locked.

The Sultan didn't speak as he looked lost. Jafar cleared his throat " If you allow me...this man here had the audacity to act on his own in a decision only the royalty are allowed to make, a mere Sheikh dared to reinstate the previous queen of Jahilon as the new ruler without consulting back with us."

Jasmine looked at Ace who shrugged at her "I did you a favor. No rebellion, more money, and peace."

"SILENCE!!" Jafar shouted, hitting his staff on the ground.

Ace frowned "I have had enough of this." He said, his locks melted "You shout at me again I will melt your face."

"Wait!" Jasmine walked between him and Jafar who hesitated knowing what Ace can do and seeing him free of his melted locks. "You said that he acted on his own...? That is not true."

Jafar narrowed his eyes at her "what do you mean?"

"Father...Mr. Portgas has been acting on my orders this whole time, I have been exchanging letters with him and I was the one who ordered queen Jamila to get back on the throne." Jasmine said. She looked at her father, knowing her, he should believe that she can do such a thing.

"Don't bother, he will not respond." Ace said.

"What?" Jasmine looked back at him.

Jafar's mouth opened slightly 'This guy...he can see it?" He thought 'This is bad, I need to awaken the Sultan now.' He moved his staff secretly.

"What are you talking about Ace? Father?" Jasmine looked at her father with worry "Is my father okay??"

Ace didn't want to get in Jafar's business since the guy essentially didn't target him or trouble him, he let him be. But now he is coming straight at him, he must get him back.

"Your father is being Hypnotized by him..." Ace pointed at Jafar.

"What?... I KNOW IT!!!" Jasmine shouted, "no wonder he stopped acting like he used to." Jasmine looked at Jafar who still had a poker face.

"Princess, please. I am but a failure Magician from Nomrood Academy how could I know such thing as hypnotization." Jafar secretly started canceling his spell to awaken the Sultan completely 'Using full power on him was a mistake at this time.'

Ace smiled at how obvious and irritating this situation has become. He vanished from his spot and appeared behind Jafar taking his staff.

"When?!!" Jafar looked at his staff in Ace's hand.

'if I remember correctly...you smash this thing.' Ace grabbed the staff and snapped it in half as a flash of light exploded in the room.

"Erg!! What is going on?" Jasmine said as she was covered by Dalia. Just as she spoke. She heard her father screaming.

"Aahhh!!!" The Sultan fell from his throne grabbing his head in pain.

"Father!!" Jasmine ran to her father to ease his pain. She looked at Jafar with hatred "you really did it?" She said.

Jafar looked around him with a fl.u.s.tered face, he took a few steps back just to pump into Ace's c.h.e.s.t.

Ace reached for Jafar's neck and pulled him up "w-what are you doing?" Jafar spoke with fear.

"Father!" Seeing her dad waking up, Jasmine was happy.

"Jasmine...?" Sultan Hamid looked at his daughter's face and touched it "Where am I?" He looked around him "my headache! It is gone!" Feeling the sudden change in his body that was troubling him for years, He was happy.

"Thank the almighty you're okay!" Jasmine

"Sultan? Are you uncomfortable in any way?" Dalia helped her liege to stand up.

"No, I feel better like never before." He said with a smile, he looked around him and saw Ace strangling Jafar.

"Jafar? Lord Portgas? What are you two doing?" Sultan Hamid spoke with worry and started walking to stop Ace from choking Jafar slowly.

"Let him, father. Jafar has betrayed you. He has been hypnotizing you all these years. Just now, he used you to frame lord Portgas and banish him out of the kingdom." Jasmine held her father back.

"Jafar?!! You?" He couldn't believe it "out of all people." But it was true. Ever since Jafar came to his palace, everything became clouded "oh God!! All those people I have executed!!" He remembered what he did in the past under Jafar's influence.

"You seem to have done quite a lot, huh?" Ace chuckled as he tightened his grip on Jafar's neck making him squeeze his tongue out.

"Gah! Argh!! Jafar's face turned blue from the lack of oxygen.

"Jafar? I saved you. I've protected you from getting killed by the magus academy? Why?!!" The Sultan shouted but he didn't need any answer.

Jasmine looked at Jafar with hatred, she wished Ace's hand would just slip and cut his neck off.

"So...does this deserve death?" Ace asked with a smile "Just say the word and I will burn him alive." Hearing such words, Jafar started kicking around trying to flee

"Aaah rghaa!! Aaa!!"

Jasmine smiled "of course, kill him now. or better let us do a public execution." How can a mere peasant, a mere rouge magus, after being graced with her father's kindness dare to mind control him?

Sultan Hamid looked down "...I cannot demand such thing out of Lord Portgas after nearly banishing him."

Ace chuckled. Actually, he was enjoying watching Jafar struggle to stay alive, from time to time he could feel his physical strength increasing to escape but Ace was far superior in that. "Don't mind, I will end him for you." He said darkly before looking at Jafar.

"Tell me..." Ace brought his face closer to Jafar's and smiled "...Have you ever seen the face of the devil?" he said.
