The Rise Of The Consortium

Chapter 29 - A mysterious piece of paper

After scanning her device, it blinked and notified how much she received. The total balance that showed to her was five hundred and forty-three COH only. The screen blinked and quickly it showed her how many tasks she had to do. Out of hundreds of tasks, she only had completed twenty in about 4-5 hours. Her eyes were tired looking at the bright outside. She blinked her eyes and decided to take a seat nearby.

"Are you Rionora Tarnilier?" asked a young boy who looked like a salesman of the shop.

"Yes, I am." she realized she shouldn't have said so because she doesn't have the proof. But she couldn't do anything now. It happened whatever was meant to happen.

"For you." the young boy quickly handed her a tiny folded paper and went inside the shop.

She couldn't understand why he gave her the paper just like that. But the boy was so quick she didn't get a chance to ask him. The door behind him closed as soon as he entered. To get inside it, you must have a purpose. In other words, you must have some tasks there as a worker.

She walked away from there as vehicles honked loudly. She found a seat on the opposite side of the road to sit and opened the folded paper to read it.

'The table near the kitchen, 3rd floor, Seli' s Brunch, Street 5'

She didn't know whether to laugh or be scared of this address. Who orders a table near the kitchen? From the address, it looked like something her friends would do. But why choose such an inconspicuous place when you have got so many decent ones in the city? She forgot they don't have her contact to give the message. All the contacts got burnt along with her work card.

She felt worried about meeting them. The blame she has been carrying would have made her friends ashamed to meet her. She looked at the piece of paper again to look at the time to meet. But there wasn't any. When she should be meeting them? Also, it wasn't the weekend yet, then why do they want to suddenly meet her?
