The Saint's Trial: Can He Resist Their Charm!?

At Rowan's Office

Rowan is now looking at a monitor instead of managing the souls of the dead. He got a break from his job and is now monitoring an important person. If he mess this up, then he wouldn't even know how he died.

"Looks like young master will get back his memories now. Hmmm, maybe I should give him a Title unique to him with some perks. It would help him in the long run too," he muttered while touching his chin, deep in thought.

"Okay, I'll give him this title. I won't give him an ability since I'm sure he got 'that' ability. He's his son after all," Rowan said after clapping, thinking that he was so brilliant because he thought of such an idea.

At the place where dead souls from Japan gets transferred.

In this place that resembles Limbo, a girl wearing a hagoromo can be seen sitting on a chair with intricate designs. She is a teenage girl with a light complexion and blue eyes. She has short, silver hair and a light purple ombre of a sort. Her hair is longer at the front of which she has two strands of hair framing her face with a piece of hair pointing out from her fringe. This teenage girl is Eris, she had a melancholic smile on her face, remembering her conversation with Hiroto.

While she was reminiscing, a magic circle on top of the chair in front of her appeared.

"Looks like his 'friend' is here now," she said while looking at the girl in front of her. She has wavy black hair tied up in twin-tails that is loosely hanging on her shoulders. Her black, obsidian-like eyes were revealed when she opened her eyes, looking around her in confusion. When she saw Eris sitting in front of her, she seems to calm down a bit.

"Ummm, can you tell me where I am?" Saeko asked.

"Yes, it is nice to meet you Toujou Saeko. It is sad to say but, you died," Eris said while looking at Saeko with a pained gaze.

"I... Did I die? W-What about Hiro? Is he okay? What should I do? I won't be able to meet him again! What to do?!" she said in a panic.

"C-Calm down a bit Saeko-chan. Hiroto-kun is fine, he will be in the world where I will transfer you in a bit," Eris said, trying to calm down the panicking girl.

"R-Really? *sigh* Thank God he is fine," Saeko said while putting her right hand over her c.h.e.s.t, trying to calm down her breathing.

"Wait, did you say send to another world? Then doesn't it mean he died too?!" she shouted again after she realized it.

"Well, yes he died. But he is now fine, he just transferred to the Other World to start his adventure. I'm sure you want to join him in his adventures, right?" she said while warmly smiling at Saeko.

"Ummm, I heard it just earlier but... Why do you call Hiro, Hiroto-kun? Are you close with him Goddess-sama?" she said while narrowing her eyes.

'That's what you noticed?!" Eris thought.

"W-Well, it's nothing big really ahahaha," Eris said while avoiding eye contact and scratching the scar on her chin.

"Hmmm, suspicious. Say Goddess-sama, are you perhaps... attracted to him?" Saeko said.

"Y-You know, w-we should be talking about your reincarnation r-right?" Eris said, obviously trying to avoid the question.

"Tell it to me truthfully Goddess-sama. To be honest, I am still not that close to being viewed by him in a romantic way. So, we are in the same boat," she said while smiling wryly.

"W-Well, I can't deny the fact that his physical appearance is attractive. But that well, that doesn't mean I like him romantically, you know?" Eris said while looking at Saeko seriously.

"Call it a girl's intuition but I think my gut feeling is right," Saeko said, looking at Eris with suspicion.

"A-Anyway, about your reincarnation. You pick out any ability or equipment that you want to take with you to the Other World," she said, trying to divert the subject.

"Hmmm, we'll talk about this some other time. About that reincarnation thing, can you show me the choices Goddess-sama?" Saeko finally relented.

"Here is the list of it," Eris took a stash of paper located above her mini cabinet beside her and passed it to Saeko. Saeko skimmed through all the abilities and weapons, she only has one thought while looking at all these,

'Which will be helpful to Hiro? Maybe this will be a good one! I don't know about games but I know about Archery.'

"Okay, I'll pick this one! I practiced Archery and I think this will be the best weapon for me," Saeko told Eris after much contemplation.

"Okay, so you pick a Holy Bow. But, can I ask why you never asked about your parent's well being? I mean, all the people who get here ask about them," Eris asked, puzzled.

"W-Well, how to say it. My father died when I was still a baby. My mother, she became a drunkard and neglected me. I only got into Middle School because there is no tuition fee, and I get my allowance from my work in my aunt's Convenience Store," she said. The corner of her eyes moistened when she talked about her life.

"You can say that Hiro is the spring breeze that gives me solace. Although it is still a one-sided attraction, I won't give up!" Saeko said while doing guts pose with both hands in front of her c.h.e.s.t while simultaneously nodding.

Seeing this, Eris thought, 'It looks like my potential rival is gonna be a strong opponent.'

"Is that so? Then I will be rooting for you," Eris said with a smile.

"Oh? Don't worry Goddess-sama, I will be rooting for you too when you finally feel the same way as me towards Hiro," Saeko said with a cute smile.

"But, I won't lose! The first wife position is mine!" this time, Eris was overwhelmed by her overflowing fighting spirit.

"W-Well, that is a talk for later. Anyway, this is your chosen weapon. The Holy Bow, Artemis's Bow," Eris said while placing a Recurve bow with green limbs and golden outlines. Its tips are adorned with a fancy leaf-like design, while its strings are sakura colored.

"This is the bow of the Goddess of Hunting Artemis. Its first function is just dealing extra damage to those who have demonic energy/mana inside their body. Other functions will be unlocked in the future, though I can't help you with figuring it out. I too am clueless," Eris said while smiling wryly.

"It's ok, I will somehow figure it out," Saeko said while smiling.

"Okay, now, it is time for you to go. The flow of time here is slower than the flow of time at the Other World. I will drop you off near Hiroto-kun, so you can meet him much early," Eris said.

"Thank you, Goddess-sama. Oh, that's right. What is your name Goddess-sama?" Saeko asked.

"U-Um, well my name is Eris. I am the Goddess of Fortune," Eris said while smiling wryly. This girl just thought to ask him this after all this time!

"Also, you are Hiroto-kun's friend. So, you can ask him more about the specifics. Hiroto-kun may wake up anytime soon, you must be there to support him," Eris said.

"Okay, I am ready now," Saeko replied.

"May our blessings help you on defeating the Demon King and his generals!" Eris said while spreading her arms wide. A magic circle enveloped Saeko and she then disappeared.

In a vast expanse of greenery. There is a boy in his early teens sleeping. Sometimes, he would grimace and he would then cry in pain.

Right now, he is crying while still asleep. In his mind, chaotic thoughts are swirling around.

"I hope that you will remember Mommy when you grow up," a lady with silver hair said. After that, a lot of voices called him out, mostly girls. He never met these girls so he was confused as to why they are appearing in his mind. Eventually, he saw all the life experiences of him. When he was helping out people out of goodwill, when he watched some animes that caught his attention, and etc. It was him, the Hiroto of the past.

Then, he heard a voice,

"I will be sealing your memories first. You will recover it once your body touched upon a sliver of mana. It is highly probable that it will not happen for a long time. So we will leave you with caretakers so you won't be lonely. Also, don't forget about your mission!" said the voice of a man.

"Hiro-chan, once your memories of your other childhood flood your mind, please don't panic ok? It's just like unlocking your sealed memories, to be honest, you were not that much different from your past selves," a familiar soothing voice said. Then, memories of a four-year-old child with the same features as him flooded his mind.

"I'm having fun with Papa and Bova-niisan!"

"The dragon sisters are going to visit again today!"

"I'm gonna meet an onee-chan today. It was what the silver-haired-oneechan said, you know?"

"I met Rias-oneechan today!"

"Ria-chan and Sona-chan is fighting!"

"I hate you!" said a girl with crimson hair. He was shocked at first but then he 'recalled' the conversation of Tannin, his previous Papa, and Bova about an engagement. Then, all the emotions bottled up inside his heart surged forth and he wept.

'That hurts a lot. Your fiancee, who you like, got taken away by someone in a flash,' he thought while weeping. He didn't know that his physical body responded to all his emotions.

'That Zeoticus, Lord Phoenix and Riser. I'm gonna show them what happens when you mess with me,' he thought sinisterly. But then, he stopped his train of thought. He remembered all the girls that have been with him in his first life, but just got ignored.

'So I was such a dense person,' he can't deny that he was dense. Even Saeko's affection towards him, he only noticed it after all this time. But he doesn't plan to go into relationsh.i.p.s for now. It's unknown territory for him, and people fear the unknown. He just decided to treat Saeko and those who would show affection towards him, better.

After he arranged his thoughts, he wanted to escape from his mindscape and wake up but was interrupted by a cute bell-like voice. It was so melodious that Hiroto thought she was singing.

‹Hello there Host! Menu will be integrating with you so it will be a wee bit painful okay?› said the cute voice. Then a robotic voice followed,

«Menu is synchronizing with Host. Activating the safety measures. Host will undergo hibernation after a slight jolt»

Before Hiroto could say something, he was assaulted by a huge pain in his whole body. He shouted in agony and lost consciousness.

Saeko just got transferred so she looked around a bit before remembering that Hiroto's location is supposed to be near her.

After a few minutes of search, she found him lying on the ground with a grimace on his face. She ran towards him, placed her bow to the side and placed his head on her l.a.p. She thought it would help him be quite comfortable.

"Hiro! Hiro! Wake up!" she tried calling out to him. But right after she said that Hiroto suddenly shouted and then became quiet. This made her more worried so she called out continuously.

"Hiro! Hiro! What happened to you? Hirooo!!" Saeko said with watery eyes. Noticing that Hiroto has even breathing, she thought that he is now sleeping. So, she decided to let him sleep in her l.a.p for a while. They stay like this for hours before Hiroto opened up his eyes.

(A/N: Now Hiroto is in KonoSuba Fantasy World! Since there is not much information about other locations in KonoSuba World, I will just be creating stories around the locations that are mentioned in the Light Novel)
