The Saint's Trial: Can He Resist Their Charm!?

In Tannin's house.

Tannin and Bova were talking among themselves when they heard a loud thud. Seeing the place where the sound came from, they were shocked to see Hiroto lying on the floor. Tannin quickly approached Hiroto in his mini dragon form. He flipped Hiroto's body to check what happened to him. Then, he saw Hiroto's face. His eyes were closed but are still shedding tears, his whole face twisting in agony while both his hands are clutching the left side of his c.h.e.s.t.

"You think, he heard our conversation?" Tannin asked Bova who is also looking at Hiroto with a pained expression.

"Yes, father. I think he overheard our conversation. W-What should we do about this father? What we feared really happened to him," Bova said, worry visible on his face

"Time is the only thing that can heal his wounds. Let us bring him to his room to rest," replied Tannin to his son, also feeling guilty that he didn't propose an engagement to the Gremorys when he had the chance to. He is blaming himself for not acting quick, and now, his son is suffering from heartbreak. Although it can be said that engaging 4-year-olds in arranged marriages are weird for commoners, it is common in aristocratic houses. Only a few would not arrange a marriage for his/her son/daughter.

Reaching Hiroto's room, they tucked him inside his bed and decided to wake him up when it is time for dinner.

At the office where Rowan is monitoring Hiroto's well-being.

Rowan watched all of Zeoticus' actions, he wanted to stop him from ruining his young master's happiness but was unable to do so. It is strictly forbidden to intervene in the young master's 'trial' unless he is being targetted by beings that are also from the High Heavens.

The Madam commanded him to prevent her son from being manipulated or feeling heartache when he still hasn't regained his memories. He was supposed to regain his memories this day but, he decided to stop it for now. He was enraged at the shameless lower devil's actions and decided to take action.

In the Gremory house, Rias Gremory's Room

Rias was still annoyed at Hiroto's continuous pestering but was madder that he didn't go to apologize to her. She waited for him for a week but never heard a word from him. Angered at the blatant attempts if Hiroto to ignore her, she decided to no longer talk to him anymore and care about him.

She was called in his father's study at this time so she has no choice but to bottle up her anger. Reaching her father's study, she knocked and waited for the confirmation to come in before opening the door and going in.

"Rias, I heard that you had a fight with Hiroto. Is this true?" Zeoticus asked, a small smirk visible on his face.

"Don't say that name in front of me, father. He was so annoying, continuously pestering me every given time he meets me. I decided to no longer care about him from today onwards," Rias said. She, as a child, obviously didn't think of the consequences of her actions.

When Zeoticus heard his daughter's reply, his smirk widened and said, "Is that so? Then you no longer feel anything for him?" Zeoticus asked once again.

Rias who is now blinded by anger, replied without thinking, "Obviously father! He didn't even bother to come here for a week! So why would I bother about him too?!" said Rias in fury.

"Is that so? Then from today onwards, you are officially engaged with Riser from the Phoenix household. I was afraid that you still have feelings for the boy Hiroto but, it seems that my worries are unnecessary. Tomorrow, we will visit the house of Phoenix to discuss the specifics of your engagement. You will have to behave there and get close to your future husband," said Zeoticus, with a smile on his face.

Rias, who heard her father's words was stunned. She didn't expect that everything would turn out like this. She wanted to say something but was cut off by his father's next words.

"I let you play around with the child for 1 year. You know that you will eventually get engaged to a son of an aristocratic family right?" said Zeoticus while staring at Rias coldly. Rias could only nod her head.

3 weeks after that, she was visited by Sona who heard about her engagement with Riser. Arriving at Rias' room, Sona didn't mind that Rias was grieving. She went directly in front of Rias and slapped her hard across her face.

With evident fury in her eyes, Sona said, "It's all your fault that Hiroto is no longer here! Are you happy now that you got your childish revenge on him?! Now he is no longer here and it's all your fault!!!!" Sona shouted at the top of her lungs.

Rias who felt someone slap her was surprised and wanted to lash out, but when she heard Sona's next words, she was confused.

"What are you saying Sona? What do you mean no longer hear?" she asked Sona, fear and worry visible on her eyes.

Sona heard her words and was even more angered. She held Rias' shoulders and started to weep.

"Hiroto is no longer here, he was retrieved by his real parents and they said that he will no longer come back here unless he wants to! They said that he erased all of our memories with him! Now he doesn't even remember us! Not even our faces nor names! Nothing! It's all because of your stupid actions!" Sona shook Rias' shoulders continuously while muttering,

"Hiroto is gone, he's gone".

Rias who heard Sona blaming her and was at first confused. But when she heard her next words she was shocked and asked Sona if it was true. Sona took a piece of paper from her pocket and threw it at Rias' face without remorse.

When the paper was on Rias' hand, it suddenly glowed and a man on his 20's appeared.

"If this message activated, then you must be the daughter of that foolish lower devil, Rias Gremory, right? If you can hear my message then I have some things that I have to tell you," the figure stared at Rias with fury and continued, "Madam has almost decided to make you her first daughter-in-law but, you have greatly disappointed us all. Young master started to have positive feelings towards you but, you gave him an unforgettable pain during his very birthday. You, self-centered brat and your idiotic father really are a match made in heaven. You, your father, and even this girl over there have made our young master feel unbearable pain in his heart. He cared about you two for a year and showered you with love! You girls are his firs love but, what did he get from you on his birthday? A selfish tantrum! No contact for months nor letters" he said those words, full of hate at the two girls.

"I would have tolerated it if you realized your mistakes, but no! He was in a coma for 3 months and you black-haired never visited him even once!! While you, Rias Gremory, childishly threw a tantrum and ignored him! Now you expect him to apologize to you?! You never even checked his well-being! Now he is in a coma because of severe heartache! I could have healed him if you guys went to visit but, now I can see that you are just a shameless bunch of little girls who think that they are the center of the world! From now on, you will never be able to meet him. Suffer from the consequences of your foolish actions! Unless he wants to come back here, you won't ever see him again! Repent and regret your past actions, because that's all that you can do now! Goodbye you brainless children with princess syndrome," said the man coldly. The paper disintegrated after those words while Sona and Rias were stunned by what they heard.

They remained like that for hours until Serafall and Sirzechs came to comfort them.

Meanwhile, in the Gremory Household's living room.

A man in his 20's appeared before them, eminating the holy power that angels possess but more powerful and dense. He looked at everyone coldly before looking at Tannin. He smiled warmly before greeting him politely.

"You must be Tannin, the Blaze Meteor Dragon of this lower world," he asked with an amiable smile.

"Yes, I am Tannin. Though I am ashamed to say that I am no longer called that for hundreds of years Mr," he stopped his words, looking at the man with a questioning gaze.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce myself. The name's Rowan a rank 3 Cherub, God-in-training at the High Heavens and a Lower God in some worlds. Pleased to meet you Tannin, and thank you for taking care of my young master," he bowed politely at Tannin.

(A/N: Okay, let me explain this. Cherub is a rank Higher than Archangels. Every Race advancements above Archangel are accompanied by Nirvana Rebirth so it is a painful process that a lot even died. In this novel, races are divided into 3 ranks. They can be considered a God if they touched upon even a low-level Divinity. That's why he called himself a lower God. But, he still has higher authority and power than the Gods of DxD world. In this novel, God of the Bible of DxD is only a rank 3 Archangel. He can't rank up because no one will replace him if ever he died in the process of Nirvana Rebirth. I'm still researching what to name on the devil's race above it.)

"N-No need to bow Mr. Rowan. I am sad to say that I didn't take care of Hiroto greatly," he replied with a sad tone.

"No no, it is alright Tannin. My madam wants to give you her utmost gratitude for bringing up Hiroto in such a state. He grew up nicely, and such a good kid too. He was happy being with you dragons but," he stopped his words and looked at Zeoticus coldly, "You, lower devil, hurt his feelings. I would love to bring you to madam and master so that we can get justice for the young master. But master decided to give you time to prepare for your doom," Rowan said ominously.

"I, Rowan of the High Heavens is here to give a piece of news from the God of Creation. You, demons of this world, will get punished for plotting against the young master and giving him severe heartache. Once young master regain his memories and decides to exact his revenge for hurting him. The madam and master will personally come down here to eliminate your entire race," he said with ice-cold eyes while looking at everyone in the room, "Except for the dragons and fallen angels, you devils will be removed from the face of the Underworld, mark my words. And you, you piece of filth. Don't worry because you won't die. You will only experience being stabbed and cut to pieces, again and again, you are not allowed to die for eternity. You must pray to your ancestors and all the Gods you know that young master doesn't hold a grudge against you. Because if he does, we will show no mercy."

Looking around, Rowan saw that everyone have pale faces. Every sentence that Rowan said made their face paler and paler until they are as pale as a sheet of paper.

"Me and young master will be taking our leave now," before he could leave, Tannin spoke up.

"Mr. Rowan, what do you mean by Hiroto getting back his memories?"

"Oh, that? Because of the severe heartache, he is feeling, the master and madam decided to seal his memories about this world. You do know that he is still so young and going through this would affect him in the future. So we decided to seal his memories about this filthy place until he is m.a.t.u.r.e enough to think for his own. I would now take my leave and take young master to another place besides this filthy place. Again Tannin, thank you for taking care of the young master. You would receive master and madam's gratitude in the near future," after saying his piece, he disappeared.

(A/N: It is a sad parting for our MC and his very first waifus. I would have liked to continue the story in Highschool DxD world but eventually scrapped the idea. I thought that Rias' and Sona's attitude towards love in the cannon is not too concrete and they are too weak at the start. Eventually, they turned into useless side-characters in the latter volumes. I would like them to get their lesson for being haughty. I think that it is good to be confident but, you must still be down to Earth. Their attitudes piss me off a bit so here we are, I arrived at this conclusion. Don't worry because, in the future, our MC will come back to this world.

Oh and one more thing, I wouldn't be following the cannon that much. I feel awkward writing a self-insert novel. So besides the characters and some events, I would keep some 'originality' hahaha.)
