Summoning Call: Livyatan

“Ooh. If it’s that Livyatan, it’d surely be able to defeat the golem. Yosh, Argo. Call it forward.”

Ar-niisama nodded to Frank-san’s words.

“Summoning Call: Livyatan!”

Ar-niisama raised his right hand high in the sky, then light spouted from it, and in the twinkling of an eye, Livyatan appeared.

But it only floated mid-air as it appeared.

Aah. Could it be that the one summoned wasn’t Livyatan itself, but most probably its manifestation that was called via the summon. If that was the case, it could be said that its form in this world would only be temporary.

In other words… I couldn’t say this well, but the one that Ar-niisama summoned wasn’t Livyatan itself, but a fragment of Livyatan’s power that was called to help, so this Livyatan here didn’t have a free will.

“Ar-niisama, please order it to attack.”

“Does this mean that even if we summoned it here, it wouldn’t attack the enemy on its own?”

“Perhaps you can try using one skill now?”

Ar-niisama’s muttering was answered by Amanda-san.

Of course, Amanda-san and Virna-san were still trying to keep the golem back at that moment.

“I still can’t use Ocean Howl… huh? Can’t be helped. Aqua Breath!”

Livyatan opened its mouth wide and a large quantity of water was being spout out in the form of a whirlpool.

Amanda-san and Virna-san who were trying to keep the golem back then jumped at once, avoiding Livyatan’s attack.

The next moment.

The whirling water headed in a straight line towards the golem.

The water’s momentum caused the golem to lose its balance. I thought it was going to collapse just as it was, but it managed to hold its ground with some efforts.

Almost! Although just a little bit more and it will collapse…!

“Jou-chan, fire off some magical attacks at the same time as Argo’s attack! We’ll be able to break through that way!”

“I will try!”

In response to Frank-san’s instruction, Ar-niisama and I put our breath in order to match our timing.

“Aqua Breath!”

“Thunder Lance!”

A thunder lance hit the golem’s head after it staggered several steps behind after being pushed by Livyatan’s Aqua Breath.

Perhaps it was because my level had increased, but the magical shadow that appeared before my magic was released had grown bigger, and the spear that emitted electrical discharge was thicker than before.

“Gooooo!”

The golem’s body fell with a loud sound, and it became cracked.

Even so, after it collapsed, it was enveloped by some light and was about to begin recovering.

“I won’t let you. Twin Sword Dance!”

Virna-san’s dual swords sliced the golem’s body with a speed that one’s eyes couldn’t keep up with.

“Split Flame Blade!”

Amanda-san’s flame-clad sword blocked the golem who was about to try and recover itself.

“Frank, now’s the time! Apply the seal!”

“Ou!”

Then, Priest Rou and Frank-san began to chant the seal together. But their expressions didn’t look so bright.

“Gramps, the seal’s not taking root.”

“Is it because the opened hole’s too big, huh? The magic power then leaks out from there.”

By hole, they mean… The hole that I opened, right?

If that’s the case…

“I will close it up with earth magic. Everyone, please stand back!”

Yosh.

“Rock Fall!”

As I swung my Gecko staff, several big rocks appeared on top of the golem.

The rocks rained over the golem’s body.

“Now! Put up the seal!”

“O divine majestic guardian who protects the heavenly throne. Answer our prayer and grant us the power to seal away the evil. In the name of the almighty god, ward off the evil. Holy barrier!”

As Priest Rou and Frank-san chanted, a blue magical formation floated in the sky, slipping into the rock that blocked off the entrance.

“…It’s a success.”

I sighed in relief.

Ah, but the exit and the entrance are in the same place.

“Frank-san. There’s also an entrance at the bottom of the dried well, what about that one?”

Since the magic would leak out from the area that had holes, we’d also need to block that one too, or it won’t be good.

“Then, let’s stretch the barrier there now.”

“But the passage at the bottom of the dried well is narrow, so I think Frank-san and the others won’t be able to pass through it…”

After all, they abducted children to pick up magical crystals from this place since only those with small bodies would be able to pass through it.  It’d be totally impossible for Frank-san to pass through the same path.

“To think that it’d be connected to the dried well. Did they abduct the children in order to have them harvest the magical crystals? …What a foolish thing.”

Priest Rou looked up to the sky and shook his head.

“At this rate, we have to block up the dried well, too. If it’s really the guardian golem, it should cease to move once it doesn’t sense any presence that’s considered as the enemy, so that should be enough. As for the magical crystals in that place, they’d be used up to recover the golem and turn into ordinary stones. …This should be good, right?”

If it was known that the magical crystals still existed in that place, other people that wanted to excavate the place would appear again.

In order to prevent the golem from resurrecting, it would be better to seal the place forever.

All of us headed towards the dried well just as we were, covered the dried well with Rock Fall—thus putting a lid to it—and put on the barrier there as well.

As for the barrier, Priest Rou told Frank-san, “You can do it alone, can’t you?” and so, Frank-san worked hard for it, earning Priest Rou’s compliment, “Hoo. You’re now fully fledged to stand on your own, huh?”

Hearing that, Frank-san scratched his head, feeling embarrassed. And I didn’t miss the fact that his ears turned a little red at that time.
