I saw the Empire’s emblem at the bottom right corner of the display screen as I hung it up, and it made me so annoyed that included wiped it off with a touch of my thumb.

I did not leave my house on the sixth and seventh days.

This was mainly because Ella blew up the bathroom this time. I wasn’t familiar with bathroom facilities and so it took me two days to fix it.

Actually, according to my technology skills, it should’ve taken me at least ten days to half a month to repair it. However, this was the only bathroom that I could use in a radius of hundreds of kilometres in this no-man’s land. Who could bear the feeling of not taking a bath for such a long time!

And so, I told the Black Cat to sneak into the camp of the Imperial Federation to ‘borrow’ some necessary items.

By the time it was fixed, the bathroom was already a place of enjoyment at the level of the nation’s best bath centre.

And oh, while my hermitage may look small from the outside, I had actually set up space-folding rules on the insides, so the space can be expanded beyond imagination.

As for the reason for maintaining such an ugly appearance on the hut, this was solely due to aesthetic reasons, as a hermit required a simple hut to look the part.

Halfway through my wonderful bath, the Black Cat casually walked into the bathroom.

Before I had the chance to throw a nuclear bomb in Its direction, the Black Cat quickly spoke: “The former Emperor was tied up and is now kneeling in front of your house.”

I was silent for a few long seconds: “…… Please tell me he’s still wearing his pants, at least.”

This wasn’t me being lenient, it’s solely because I’m still a pure young lady who did not wish to have my eyes go rotten at the former Emperor’s little thing.

Anyways, a mere former Emperor did not deserve to have me leave my perfect bath early.

And so, when I finally stood at the window and looked out, the former Emperor, who had knelt there for more than two hours, seemed to have resigned himself to this fate.

If I had to be honest with myself, whoever tied him up was a professional, there were even a bunch of thorns at the back……

… But uh, it’s just that the thorns looked a little too ferocious, and I wouldn’t have been able to do it to this length.

“Who tied him up?” I stood on tiptoes as I try to observe the outside clearly.

The former Emperor was surrounded by soldiers, and even though there were a lot of people watching, the order was still maintained.

“Your ex-boyfriends.” The Black Cat said, “Both of them did it together.”

I was too lazy to emphasize that I only had one ex-boyfriend, but still, this had now become my personal dark history, and so I applauded excitedly in response, “Father and son fighting, monarch and minister against each other. Very good, this fits the style of this filthy world.”

It was now the Black Cat’s turn to have his dark history poked at, and It instantly responded with perfect airplane ears, “You can now go ahead and beat him with the thorny vine.”

I winced in disgust from the bottom of my heart: “Ew.”

Was I the type to abuse my power to conduct torture on another person?

Of course not!

So, I drew up the curtains and proceeded with my twenty-third attempt at fixing Ella.

“The first twenty-two attempts all ended in failure.” The Black Cat spoke in a mimicked electronic audio reporter.

“Get lost!” Refusing to admit my incompetence, I roared at It furiously, “I finished re-reading the book – ‘Artificial Intelligence: From Beginner to Master’ yesterday! It will definitely work this time!”

As the saying goes, failure is the mother of success.

And using this on Ella’s restoration, failure is currently the twenty-third ancestor of success

I left the studio in exhaustion: “Ella, bring me a cup of coffee.”

Ella: “Woof!”

Black Cat: “Pfft!”

Me: “Shut it.”

At this moment, I felt like a completely useless person. I could only pray that the fifth wave would come with a miracle, like a radiated electromagnetic wave that would allow Ella to be upgraded to the highest tier instantly.

Me: “Use your world conscience powers to think of a way!”

The Black Cat averted his gaze instantly: “Let’s talk about the people outside. There are currently three thousand six hundred and twenty-eight people kneeling outside, three thousand six hundred and twenty-nine… Three thousand six hundred and thirty-one……”

""

“Why do you pay more attention to the people outside than I do?” I was very puzzled, “And it’s totally fine if you’re having fun and be obsessed about this like how one would a drama series, but what’s the deal in broadcasting it to me?”

“I need to make sure that you will not change your mind.” Said the Black Cat.

“Why would I change my mind and pick up the garbage that I had thrown out?” Its response confused me further, “Well, unless you return my saintly emotions, but still, I do not think it would change my decision.”

“That’s not it.”

“Then what?”

“It’s……” The Black Cat stopped after saying a word, but It looked a little confused too, as if It didn’t understand what It was trying to say.

The next moment, there was a knock on my door.

The young Emperor’s voice sounded, “Can you open the door? There’s something I wished to give you.”

I rolled my eyes and ignored him, what can he give me that I don’t already have?

“It’s Ella’s coding date.” The young Emperor continued, “I will leave immediately if you don’t need it.”

I teleported outside the door in an instant.

The young Emperor stood there alone, without any guards or cronies around him.

Although, it was useless even if he did bring any.

“Are you threatening me?” I asked grimly.

“I have no other choice.” The Emperor raised his left hand, which was clenched up into a fist, “With this data, Ella can finally return to your side.”

“What’s the price?” I swept my gaze over his hand.

“I’ve made changes to it and this data is connected to my heart.” He continued, “The moment my heart stops, Ella’s data would be wiped instantly.”

Wow, I am literally speechless at the man’s actions.

First of all, he’s a mortal with an age limit, meaning he would eventually die one day.

Secondly, he’s blatantly looking down on me knowing that I am illiterate in programming, and was not capable of changing the codes back.

And finally…

“Are you giving up on your nation, family and friends, just to save your own life?” I summed up his plan audibly.

The former Emperor lowered his eyes for a few long seconds, before raising his head to glance my way, “If the universe must be destroyed, there must be a trace of seed left, and I believe I am the most suitable man to be this seed.”

“Pfft, that sounded really righteous and self-sacrificing.” I snorted in response, “The others know nothing about this proposed deal, right?”

""

His silence was an obvious acquiescence to my question.

“Alright,” I laughed, “Wait here.”

“So, do you think I should go ahead with Plan A or Plan B?” I asked the Black Cat while waving both my hands around in the air.

The Black Cat sat on the bench and stared at my hands, “…… Teacher, I might have been absent from class, but what are Plan A and Plan B?”

“Plan A would be to dig out his heart and cultivate it alone, this way, his heart would live for hundreds of years as long as it beats.” I answered simply, “Plan B would be easier, where I cast a spell on him so he would use his clever little brain to change Ella’s data back, and then kick him back to the Imperial camp.

The Black Cat lowered Its head and gave it a long thought, “Plan B sounds better, let’s also expose him while we’re at it.”

Me: “Great! How do we expose him?”

Black Cat: “I recorded the whole conversation.”

Me: “?”

Black Cat: “.”

Me: “Be honest with me. Are you sure this world’s black and filthiness was not due to your true essence? See, even as a cat, you’re entirely black!”

As soon as I finished speaking, the Black Cat suddenly turned into an orange cat right under my nose.

The Orange Cat replied slowly, “No.”

Me: “……”
