"Oh, no. I can't believe it."

Almire, waiting for the first match of the  finales of martial arts tournament to begin, sighs as she looks at the wagers that have been gathered in her hand.

 The match-up is Norwin-von-Endenberg versus Ryan-von-Eisenburg.

The odds are almost zero in favor of Norwin.

Although Ryan was in the top group of his age group when he qualified for the finals, the popular expectation was that he would not be able to beat Norwin, who was a winner in the qualifying rounds.

"He is a top-notch spearman, and his magic is superb."

His spear is top-notch, his magic is top-notch, and his thinking ability is outstanding. The first-rate spear, the top-notch magic, and the excellent thinking ability.

He is no match for an ordinary prodigy. The only ones who would lose would be Schneizel daughter or Lieselotte.

"Well, I wonder how they will do. I put my salary into this, so it would be a problem if he loses".

The fox-faced female magician laughs as she plays with the betting cards in her hand.

"Good luck, !"

Raymond-von-Eisenburg called out to his brunch brother, who was heading to a match.

"Do you think I can win?"

'If you work hard, I think you can win."

'I see."

Ryan smiled ruefully at his younger sibling's unfamiliar kindness.

(I'm sure this genius in front of him thinks he can't beat Norwin.)

(I know that much.)

Until Raymond took up the sword, he was known as the star of Eisenburg, and he grew up with the expectations of those surrounding him. His talent and tireless efforts are unmatched by any other Eisenburgers of the past. Without a doubt, Ryan is a strong man...but it is Raymond who has surpassed him.

He is four years younger than Ryan. Although he is only six years old, he is the quickest prodigy who has never lost a match.

There is no way he can beat Norwin, who has a higher reputation than Raymond.

( Yes, I know that.)

He is not a chosen one. There is no way he can beat someone like Norwin and Raymond, who were promised to be strong from the very beginning.

" This is too bad luck for me, right from the first round, isn't it?"

Unaware that his opponent is a former average person, he heads to the arena.

When he received the call to begin the first match of the first round, he found his opponent already there.

He was older than me, with a superior physique. He was probably ten years old, or close to it, and his weapon was a sword.

"I look forward to fighting with you."

"Oh. Good to know '

Cheers and stares poured in. Most of the audience's attention was on me. I held up my spear silently, not being intimidated by the cheers as I had been in the preliminary round. The other side also readied their swords.

This is the first step toward saving Crescencia. I absolutely could not lose. I must not lose.

The power in my hand gripped the spear. With this hand, I will save the person I love.

'The first match of the first round, let's begin!"

 And the match began.

Immediately after the signal, it was Ryan who took the first move. He quickly stepped into the match and fired a check blow with his sword sharpness. A sword faithful to the basics. A compact swing, but...

 He is fast.

The difference in size and physical ability made it more than enough of a threat to me. The other side must have known that and unleashed a strike.

As a strategy to defeat the six-year-old me, it was not a bad idea to use the difference in physical specs to push me.

That's why I was so confident that I would be able to beat him.

"Ah!"

Before the sword could gain any momentum, I held the beginning of the technique with my spear. From there, I twirled the sword with my spear and sent it flying wide outward...

"I'm not going to let you do that!'

Just as he was about to do so, he was forcibly drawn back by the force of his arm. It seems that in a pure contest of strength, we are still inferior.

Damn, this is why the body of a six-year-old is so troublesome.

He immediately changed his strategy. He mixed feints with his gait and spear handling to make the enemy overly cautious, and while he was doing so, he took a step back and regained his stance.

"Phew."

Probably, if I don't ask for any means, I can beat this opponent any way I want. However, since there are many strong players ahead of us, we want to hide our cards as much as possible.

"Do you want to force them into it with a weaker body reinforcement? If it's that strong, it's okay to expose it."

The moment I made that decision and was about to activate the physical reinforcement, Ryan turned his empty hand toward me.

 No way.

"Spirit of the wind..."

I opened my eyes to hear the chanting of the enemy. It seems that the enemy in front of me can use wind attribute magic.

I don't even know what other techniques they have. If we wait too long, we might make an unexpected mistake.

I thought I should take a look at the situation and get used to the actual battle, but I knew I had to stop messing around. Let's get this over with right away.

I lightly activated my physical reinforcement and ran across the ground at a speed far faster than I had ever run before. Ryan, whose eyes peeled back, hurriedly interrupted his magic and swung his sword, but he was too slow.

I strike the sword's handle with my spear, which I turn at high speed, and kick the sword far away from Ryan, who takes it away in pain.

"It's over."

Then I thrust the tip of the spear into his neck and declared the match over. A few moments later, the referee declared me the winner, and thus ended the first round.
