Trial Marriage Husband : I Am CEO’s Plaything

Chapter 792 - Oscar's Mood

Today, Lisa was purposely going home earlier than usual. Ever since she got the news that Oscar's company had an open meeting, she couldn't work in peace anymore. Instead of wasting her time feeling restless, Lisa decided to put off her work for the day and rushed home.

Apart from wasting time at the office, Lisa also wanted to give Oscar a little surprise. She didn't know how the open meeting turned out because until now, Oscar had not given her any news.

Before going straight home, Lisa stopped at the nearest supermarket first. She bought some ingredients that were easy to cook, then went straight home.

At first, while Lisa was in the taxi, she had thoughts of contacting Oscar. She wanted to tell the man not to eat out for the evening because she would've already cooked for him by then.

However, Lisa thought that maybe the open meeting wasn't over yet. Rather than interrupting the meeting and breaking Oscar's concentration, Lisa decided not to contact the man. Just let their afternoon or evening meal plan be a little surprise.

And out of the blue, Lisa's heart felt heavy when she saw Dani's name on the screen of her cellphone.

"Dani? Why are you suddenly calling me? What happened to Oscar?"

After Lisa received the news that Petersson Communication would be holding an open meeting, she was worried that something bad would happen. So when she was contacted by Dani, Lisa was afraid of what could've happened.

Dani, who was still on the sidewalk near Peter's house, gripped his cell phone tightly, "Miss Lisa, Mr. Oscar's mood today is not very good. I am worried about his condition because he suddenly left here. Can you help me by contacting him?"

Hearing Dani's panicked voice made Lisa frown. She washed her left hand in the sink for a while as she replied, "What happened to Oscar? Did the open meeting not go well?"

"No, no," Dani replied quickly, "Ah, I mean, I also don't know what puts Mr. Oscar in a bad mood. After returning to visit Mr. Peter's house, his mood was not good. I didn't go inside, so I don't know what happened."

"If I may suggest, it's better if you try to contact Mr. Oscar now." Danny continued.

"Alright." Lisa replied quickly. Before Dani replied, she had already disconnected their call.

Without realizing it, Lisa's fingers that touched her cellphone had turned white due to gripping the device too hard. Her lips, still smeared with the pink lipstick, were between her upper and lower teeth.

Being contacted by Dani earlier made Lisa's worry even more intense. She turned off the stove and walked over to the table.

According to Dani, Oscar was in a bad mood when he left his parents' house.

Suddenly, Lisa's footsteps stopped when she realized something. Her heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and the tips of her feet and hands felt cold.

What could've happened'¦

Did Oscar find out about Greta and Michael's past? Did he know that he was not Peter's flesh and blood but someone else's? Could that be the reason why Oscar was in a bad mood?

If that's true, it's only natural that the man would want to go alone without Dani!

For a moment, Lisa didn't know what to do. She was still too confused by the possibility of what happened at Peter's house. Lisa knew that Oscar would find out about her mother and uncle's affair, but she had no idea that it would all happen so quickly!

Just yesterday, she had heard shocking news from Greta's own lips, and now the dark news had reached Oscar's ears.

Lisa sat at one of the dining tables and tried to call Oscar. The dial tone was heard, but the man didn't answer the call.

Actually, she and Oscar were of the same mind. If one of them couldn't contact the other, they would definitely keep trying until their frustration took over. If Oscar was going to tell Dani to find out where Lisa was, she couldn't do anything.

Lisa has no trusted people who can track Oscar's whereabouts with just a cell phone signal. All she could do was keep trying to call Oscar and hope he was okay.

Five minutes had passed and Oscar still hadn't answered a single call from her. Lisa, who is sitting on the dining table chair, can't stop moving her legs while biting her fingernails sometimes.

"Ugh, where are you?!" Lisa grumbled while looking at her cell phone's screen. She then pressed the green button again and called Oscar, "Quick, pick up my phone..."

She'd dealed about 20 times and none of them were received. Lisa couldn't sit still anymore. She was dead worried to the point that the woman was fed up.

In the past, Lisa didn't know why Oscar could be so panicked just because she didn't pick up his incoming call. Now Lisa understood what Oscar felt. Feelings of panic, worry, irritation, all flooded her chest.

The first time Lisa tried to contact Oscar, the sky was still orange and the street lights were still not on. But now, the sky had started to turn dark with the street lamps, moon and stars illuminating the dusk.

The longer Oscar didn't answer her phone calls, the more panicked Lisa felt. Cold sweat had begun to break out and wet her nape, temples, and back. Lisa didn't know what to do, and didn't know where Oscar was now.

When the clock showed 7 pm, Lisa felt that she had waited too long without certainty. The woman hurried up the stairs and changed clothes to go find Oscar.

Lisa didn't know where to look, but she couldn't wait for him to stay at home. She'd better get out and try to find Oscar's whereabouts.

"Miss Lisa?" Mrs. Rusminah called when the woman saw Lisa wearing her shoes, "Where are you going at this time?"

Lisa didn't look up nor stopped wearing her shoes. "I'm going out for a bit."

"Then let me call the private driver to take you," Mrs. Rusminah said quickly. She was once reminded by Oscar to never let Lisa go alone, especially when the sky was getting dark. "It's already night, it's dangerous to go alone."

"No need. When I come back later, please heat up some food for Oscar and I, okay?" Lisa replied before she finally looked at Mrs. Rusminah.

She then turned around and opened the door of the house, "I'll go first."
