Walking The Jiang Hu

Chapter 7 - Entrance Exam(4) - Xing Jie's Fierceness!

"It's time for everybody to show me their ability", said Mr Kano.

Mr Kano was smiling at anticipation to see what kind of talent everybody had.

Everybody looked at each other in confidence. Everybody was sure that they met the requirements to pass the test.

Everybody then sat in front of Mr Kano. They all felt immense respect in front of this pivotal figure. They all felt as if they were all a bunch of ants under the watch of this giant. He could crush them all with one thought.

"The minimum requirement for the passing is minor success. I believe that because that these are low grade sword arts and you were given two hours. That you would all pass. All of you should pass this bit", announced Mr Kano.

Mr Kano then randomly pointed at a person sitting the crowd.

"You", said Mr Kano while pointing at a yellow robed young boy. The young man immediately went in front of the crowd and pulled out his sword and started dancing with the sword.

It looked like his sword was his dancing partner. The young boy then did many complicated twists and turns with his sword. This sword art would most likely used for entertainment reasons and to impress other people.

After the boy had completed his routine he faced Mr Kano with a face of hope. Mr Kano simply nodded and the boy went and sat at the wall behind Mr Kano.

The boy was actually surprised at his own display too.

Mr Kano then pointed at many more people and they all showed extraordinary sword arts. Yip An was staring at amazement at everybody's sword arts. It seemed like nobody would fail this test.

Finally after a soul crunching hours it was finally his turn. Yip An then took in a deep breath.

He faced and bowed to Mr Kano in respect and started his sword art.

Yip An readied his position. He then felt his surroundings around him and began. With the flick of his hand the wooden sword slashed against the air and then you could see a massive wind gust form right in front of him. It was a wind gust that was two meters long was about 10 centimeters wide.

If this wind gust hit somebody it could potentially kill or potentially leave a massive scar on a mortal's body.

Though , 1 second after forming.

The wind gust reappeared over twenty meters away and slashed against the wall and hit the wall.

The wall seemed indestructible as it took the brute force of that strike without faltering.

People were not only impressed with Yip An's technique , but impressed of how a wooden wall withstood that attack and didn't receive a single dent. Too strong!

Mr Kano felt impressed at Yip An's ability and gave him a thumbs up showing him his astonishment.

Soon after Mr Kano pointed at Xing Jie.

Xing Jie then smirked as he lifted up his wooden sword.

Xing Jie then swung his sword at an alarmingly fast rate.

The only thing that you could see was him simply jabbing in the air. Everyone was disappointed in Xing Jie's performance. He could only stab at thin air? Everybody was looking at Xing Jie like as if they were all looking at a piece of trash.

Though, when they looked at Mr Kano they could see his eyes bulging out of his face! Veins were popping out and he was very surprised. Though, he soon calmed down.

"It seems like the heavens have gifted you with a gift for weapon arts. You are a genius! You've managed to reach the adept stage in just 2 hours! Genius , genius , genius!", praised Mr Kano.

"No matter what your grade of talent in the next test is you will immediately become an inner disciple!"

"Heeeeeeeeeeeeh!!!" screamed everyone in unison.

Xing Jie had just been accepted as an inner sect disciple! Yip An jaws dropped all the way to the ground.

Everyone was making a commotion. Well that is to be expected from a Jie clans member. The Jie clan was known for their fierce sword arts. The ancestor of the Jie clan had actually transcended into the immortal realm and left a legendary sword art to his family. Because of this sword art the Jie clan's strength grew at an astonishing rate.

The clan had finally, after 200 years of hard work established itself as a main powerhouse of the Solid Earth Continent.

But the real question was how Xing Jie had actually passed.

Soon after the last person had passed he cleared his throat and looked directly at Xing Jie's direction.

"Some of you may be questioning why I had accepted him as an inner sect disciple.

From your point of view it seemed like that h was jabbing at thin air right?" Announced Mr Kano.

Everyone nodded in unison and all agreed. Xing Jie just chuckled.

"When Xing Jie had practiced a technique that hid where he would hit. When slashing the sword the right way you can make it look that you are simply jabbing. Though, that's not what is truly happening. he's actually made an illusion. This illusion doesn't show you where he is truly striking. When he was performing this technique it had appeared that he was just jabbing at thin air but truly he had been making horizontal slashes the whole time!", Explained Mr Kano.

Everybody looked in amazement at Mr Kano's analytical skills. He was truly worthy of the name of an immortal. This man was truly mysterious.

Many people were now sitting down bragging about how genius they were.

Some were also saying that Mr Kano was lying and had put up a show for Xing Jie.

However, Yip An knew Mr Kano was telling the truth. Such a wise man would have zero chance to be such a guy.

Though, if that were true then Mr Kano would lose his place in Yip An's heart.

Yip An admired Mr Kano quite a lot because of his immense strength.

Yip An wanted to be Mr Kano's disciple but he wasn't even that strong.

He knew that if he didn't receive the divine beast blood then he wouldn't have even passed te first trial.

Yip An knew about the immense strength in his legs. But he was very weak at his core.

He was confident that if Xing Jie was truly fighting him to death then he would've been beaten 8/10 times.

The only thing that Yip An wanted was to become strong and become immortal. Yip An was scared of dying. He only wanted to be immortal and never die. However, he knew the chance of that happening that it was negligible. It was like a drop in the ocean.

Yip An yearned for strength so much. Everyone else thought the same. Yip An didn't think he was a special snowflake. But Yip An stopped this train of thought and encouraged himself to become stronger and become an immortal.

Before Yip An could think anymore Mr Kano pulled out a magical globe that was constantly changing colors but whenever it went to navy blue it stopped changing colors and then resumed once more.

"Now, It is the final moment of truth. Your talent! If your talent level isn't up to par, then cultivating will be much more time consuming and you will see very little breakthroughs in your cultivation."

explained Mr Kano.

"There are nine levels of talent ranking from lowest to highest,

Trash

Poor

Average

Good

Excellent

Genius

Supreme Genius

Godly

and finally True God", informed Mr Kano." Now, everybody line up one by one and put your hand s on the globe. The brighter the globe is. The higher the talent you have. On the other hand, the darker it is the less talent you have. If the globe stays completely black then you have trash talent."

Yip An looked around and saw the nervous expressions of everyone around him. Xing Jie included. So what if he had godly talent for weapon arts? He would be stuck at low cultivation realms for the rest of his life if he had trash talent.

The talent part of most entrance exams was always left for last.

That was because if they has didn't have the greatest talent then they would still accept the disciple as long as he performed exceptional in the other tests.

Yip An looked all around him as he slowly got closer the front of the line. Finally it was time for his turn.
