Johann and Kon have returned to the room in front of the Layer Boss. There, they meet up with the Zecca-Remma Combo, who are having a hard time.

And then, they heard information about the boss’s strategy from the two of them.

“I see,” Kon said, nodding while holding her chin. “So it’s a tough customer if you don’t have the numbers, yeah?”

“Yeah, we can pin it down, but with just the two of us, beating it is just out of our reach,” Zecca said.

“… It’s tough,” Remma said.

“Ms. Kon, I’m begging you, would you like to form a party with us?” Zecca said.

“My, my, with me?” Kon said.

“You are a famous Summoner, Kon-san,” Zecca said. “If you join us, we’ll be sure to win.”

“Hmm,” Kon said. “Is the Young Missy okay with that? Can I join y’all?”

“… We can’t win on our own… help us,” Remma said.

“Then alright,” Kon said. “I’ll join y’all. But, I’m calling a helper of mine. Can he join us, too?”

“Yes. What kind of person would you call, Ms. Kon… wait… huh?!” Zecca cried.

In the middle of saying that, Zecca finds out. A large, red-haired man is approaching. He is nearly 2 meters tall and has his face painted white like a clown. And his clothes are also like a red clown costume. However, because of his strong physique like a bodybuilder, it was quite a bit of a ridiculous sight.

“Ahhhh… izzat him!?” Zecca said, struggling through giggles.

“… I can’t when I see…” Remma said before she started giggling, too.

“Oh, y’all are here, Donald,” Kon said. “This way, this way.”

Apparently, the tall macho clown was Kon’s helper, so she beckoned him over.

“Wait, wait a minute, Kon-cha~an,” Donald said. “These gals the same gals who fought so hard in the Pirate King Raid, aren’t they~?☆”

The macho clown wriggles his body while speaking in a heavily exaggerated voice.

“They are,” Kon said. “Zekka-chan and Remma-chan.”

“P-P-P-P-Pleasure to meet you!” Zecca said.

“… Nice to meet you,” Remma said.

“I’m Donald Smile! Nice to meet you as well,☆” Donald said, shaking hands with them both.

Then, he turned to Johann.

“Nice to meet you,” Johann said. “Please take care of those girls.”

“Of course, I will!” Donald said. “I just love cute gals!”

Somehow, Johan thought that this person could be relied on.

Johann is going solo, and Zecca, Remma, Donald, and Kon are a party, the two halves finally challenge the Layer Boss.

The inside of the boss room was dome-shaped, just like with Kuwa Geiger. However, the floor and walls were covered in ice, and the atmosphere of the room was completely different.

When Zecca and the others enter the room, Crystal Leo was sleeping peacefully in the center, then woke up and roared. With that signal, the air around it condenses into 6 giant crystals floating in the air.

Crystal Leo is a giant white lion-like monster with dragon-like wings. Its mane and body are covered in ice-like armor, spikes sticking out all over. The armor can be destroyed after dealing a certain amount of damage, but until then it protects Crystal Leo.

“Oh, right,” Donald said. “There was that thing Zecca-chan mentioned.”

“Yes,” Zecca said. “Those crystals are a field effect, protecting the boss while they spin around it.”

“… Very annoying,” Remma said.

Crystal Leo sees them. It takes a fighting stance.

“Anyway, let’s go ahead as planned,” Zecca said. “Me and Remma-chan will destroy the floating crystals while attracting its attacks. I’ll leave the rest of the attacks to you two.”

“Understood, Zekka-chan,” Donald said. “Just leave it to me.☆”

After Donald winks, Zecca pulls out her swords and charges at the enemy. Then comes Remma. Zecca leaps up and attacks the floating crystal with the white half of her Unique Equipment, Dead Or Alive.

“Okay, I got 2 stacks of Guts… uooOOOHHHH!”

After gaining Guts stacks, she attacks with the black sword. By consuming the Guts stacks, a gigantic amount of damage shatters one of the floating crystals.

“GARRGAAAAHH!” Crystal Leo roars.

It wasn’t just watching. As it flaps its wings, a ferocious blizzard kicks up and assaults Zecca.

It’s the enemy’s skill, Absolute Zero. It’s a powerful skill that inflicts Freeze on players, encasing them in ice. The scariest thing is that if you get hit with a Physical attack while Frozen, your body will break to pieces alongside the ice, killing you instantly. 1

“Remma-chan!” Zecca cried.

“… Position Change!” Remma cried.

Remma swapped places with Zecca since they were in a party together. And then, she took the damage from Absolute Zero.

“… Won’t work on me,” Remma said.

Remma wears accessories that nullify the Status Ailment Freeze. Zecca’s attacks, Remma’s defense, and so on, were the two of them aiming to wear Crystal Leo down by repetition, but this was still not enough.

That is why the role of their two helpers, Donald and Kon, is so important.

“Those two…that’s pretty cool, isn’t it?☆” Donald said.

“As expected of Maou-han‘s aides,” Kon said.

Donald and Kon watch the battle from a distance. But it’s not just observation. Kon repeatedly calls summoned beasts and Donald’s multiplies his Strength stat with support Skills.

“Skill, Damned Charge…… Backup Cheerleader, disappear,” Kon said. “Now to continue summoning beasts—Backup Cheerleader!”

An angel clad in a cheerleader outfit emerges from the geometric magic circle.

“Just keep usin’ Power Yell on Donald, y’all!” Kon said.

As the Backup Cheerleader dances, Donald gains a Strength buff. Power Yell is a Skill that increases the strength of 1 party member by 100 points. This was repeated 10 times as Zecca and Remma fought. Currently, 1000 points have been added to Donald’s Strength stat.

“Well… from here on… hooonnu.☆”

Donald activates his Skill, Fighting Spirit: Extreme. His Strength and Magic stats double.

“Furthermore… hoonnoo☆”

Donald then activates Fighting Spirit: Zero. From here on, his Strength and Magic are tripled. However, as a drawback, he would instantly die from a single attack.

“Now, then… let’s go in, shall we?☆” Donald said.

As he finished his super-enhancement, Donald snapped his fingers and rushed at Crystal Leo.

Man, the developers just love their incredibly OP Status Effects, don’t they? Makes you wonder how this is balanced, since we all know Stun is barely available in PVP, and veteran players always have counters to Instant Death.
