When I Became a Girl, an Unexpected Love Quarrel Occurred!

“We’re here!”

Alice said once she got onto the train from the station. Stretching her arms up and out to announce her arrival.

“There there.”

I said so as I pat Alice’s head.

“Geeze, You will get tired if you worry about me all the time, right?”

She replied and hugged me tightly.

No, I’m not honestly tired. We are taking a bullet train and will only be on it for about an hour and a half.

After we sat down at our seats, we heard some gossip from behind us.

“Hey, Did you see the beautiful girl that call the other girl her sister? They aren’t alike but she is her sister? Perhaps a sister in law?”

“I saw the little sister gosh over the older one while they were walking down the aisle. It was super cute.”

“A composed older sister, and an adorable little sister. What a great pair.”

A group of girls, who seem to be the closest seats behind us were talking loudly.

Them being an all girl group is great, mainly because they are safe. They may occasionally call out to us, but that won’t cause any problems. So we got lucky with them being our closest neighbor.

A real problem is a group of men. Even more so because it is summer vacation, so there are a lot of “playboys”. But those are easy to tell apart, so it’s fine because you can think of an escape.

If a group of guys call out to you, just keep your distance, if they are following, stay away from unpopulated area.

There are some guys here look like they may call out to us, but the inside of the train is pretty quiet, and any fuss will be noticeable. I’ve learned all these important lessons from being around Alice all the time.

After one and a half hours on the train. Alice and I finally reach my father and mother’s hometown without much of an issue.

By the way, it seems like my father will be late because of a sudden work emergency. While my Mom is coming with her father.

We may be there alone, but our Mom just told us to have fun.

Fun may be relative.

By the way, there will be some other people at our Parent’s home.

My Father has uncles. And they have children visiting. One of my cousin’s names Is Kanau-kun(奏) who is three years older than me and Alice and is a freshman in college. He has a younger sister named  ), while she is the same age as Alice and I. 

And my mother also has a sister who had kids. One of the kids is Mizuki-chan(瑞希), who is in third year junior high school. And her little sister, Mizuho(瑞穂) who is a sixth grader in elementary school.

I remember when I was a guy, Kanau-kun was the only person I could call a friend.

He was an unusual person who didn’t pamper or make a fuss over Alice.

Thanks to that, I was able to take a break from Tyrant Alice.

Although one thing to note, unlike me, he took the best genes from my father’s lineage and was quite the good-looking guy.

I’ve never heard it from anybody, but I’m sure he was quite popular. 

In short, Kanau-kun was on the Alice side of people. Not in personality, more in looks.

I did really enjoy my time with him, he was my only friend and acted as a gentle older brother to me. One of the best times with the Bon Festival was my time with Kanau-kun. Always giving me advice and being there for me.

I was feeling down because I didn’t want to hear about my Father’s love comedy, but now that my father is going to be late, it’s pretty refreshing.

And this time, Kanau-kun is bringing his car, and he will take us for a drive.

My sister and Iori-chan will also be there.

It seems the Mizuki-chan and Mizuho-chan also wanted to come, but unfortunately they couldn’t come this time because Mizuki-chan is studying for an exam. Mizuho has nothing to do with an exam, however I think she is watching over or being cared for by Mizuki-chan. Those sisters are really close to each other. However, they may appear later in the evening.

Well I’m fine with my only friend Kanau-chan, but now that I’m a woman, our relationship is most likely different from what it used to be. And that is worrying.

Once we passed through ticket gate and went down the escalator, I saw a girl running towards us.

“Amane-chan!”

She was waving her hands in a cute way, she had ordinary black hair and black eyes.

Yeah normal. My dad’s average genes.

This is Iori-chan. In a sense, we look pretty similar.

Well actually, she is much cuter than me.

“Amane-chan! It’s been so long!”

Iori-chan stopped in front of me and greeted me with a smile.

“It has been a long time, Iori-chan.”

I returned the greeting.

Then, I heard a peculiar sound.

I felt something wrap around my arm and touch my back. 

Like a cat hiding under a car, Alice was hiding behind me and peaking at Iori-chan.

“It’s been a long time Alice-chan.”

She then came out from behind me and laughed in a shy tone.

When I was a man, Iris-chan and Alice were on good terms, however I think Alice was acting.

However, today she isn’t putting up a facade.

Their relationship seems very different than before.

“. . .Eh?”

Iori-chan eyes turned to dots once she saw Alice.

“OOOOOOOOOOOOhhh!”

She suddenly screamed and it shook everybody walking past us. They then gave us odd looks as they continued walking.

What is happening?

“W-Wait, Alice-chan!? What happened this past year!? You look so much more cuter!”

Her cheeks went red as she loudly exclaimed.

She is amazingly cute? I don’t know about that.”

“H-Hey Onii-chan! Come over here quickly and look at Alice-chan!  It’s ridiculous!”

Behind her, was a young man walking towards us, he then quickly came over to us once he heard Iori-chan.

There is only one person Iori-chan would call Onii-chan.

I felt excitement and anxiety. My stomach was filled with butterflies.

“Iori, you’re a second year high school student. So calm down. How long will it take for you to be gentle like Amane.”

Said in a kind but well heard voice. It was a tall, handsome man. A little taller than the last time I saw him.

It was Kanau-kun. He stopped besides Iori-chan and patted her lightly on the head with a smile.

He had a calm attitude, very similar to my Father. However unlike my father, he looked like a model.

He gathered all the good quality of my family.

“Yo Amane. I haven’t seen you in over a year, yet you’ve gotten even more beautiful. Surely you have a boyfriend. Although I need to prepare my Onii-chan heart to hear it.”

Kanau-kun said with a smile.

“D-don’t say have a boyfriend. I hate when you tease people!”

With a trembling voice, Iori-chan said to her brother and started to kick his shin. Kanau-kun was playing dumb.

It seems like the boyfriend thing was a joke.

“Ahh, Amane. I have something to give you. A yellow duck.”

While Iori-chan was kicking his leg, he nonchalantly took out a stuffed yellow duck from a paper bag and presented it to me.

“Wahh.”

Duck. And it’s yellow. . .It’s perfect.

With trembling hands, I took and hugged the stuffed animal.

It is so soft. Perfect, just perfect.

“Oh, that makes you happy? Then if that’s the case, you must make a promise with Onii-chan. If you get a boyfriend, you must tell me immediately. And I mean not when you get the chance, I mean immediately. So I can properly meet and thoroughly vet him.”

I could hear Kanau ’s voice, but I wasn’t listening as I was too busy duck hugging. But I nodded in the meantime.

“Good. Such a good Amane. I think that deserves another duck.”

Another duck!?! 

I looked up and say another yellow duck looking at me.

“Hello, Amane-chan. I came from duck country to meet you. Quack Quack.”

I instantly grabbed the adorable yellow duck, becoming even more adorable with the cute talk from Kanau. I hugged the two ducks together.

I feel so satisfied hugging these two stuffed birds at the same time.

“A, Alice-chan! My stupid brother is deceiving Amane-chan! You have to help!”

“Y-Yeah!”

I heard that and Alice suddenly left my back and started to kick and hit Kanau, joining Iori-chan.

“Oh, Alice. You are cuter than last year. As expected of Amane’s little sister. Here is a candy I bought earlier.”

He ignored them kicking them and pulled out a candy from his pocket.

“Why did you give two expensive looking stuffed ducks to Onee-chan, but I get one candy!?”

“What? Don’t kids like sweets?”

Alice screamed in anger, but Kanau-kun simply laughed.

“W-Who is a kid! How annoying!”

Alice’s face went red with anger and continued her barrage.

Ahh, I see.

“Alice, you don’t get why Kanau-kun bought two ducks?”

I told Alice. She stopped and looked at me.

Two ducks were given. And we are twins.

So one for me, and another for Alice.

“Here, Alice.”

I offered a duck to Alice.

Her face turned red as she glared at Kanau-kun. Then cautiously reached out to the duck I was offering.

However, the duck was lifted from my hand before Alice could reach it.

“No, both of the ducks are Amane’s ducks. Alice has plenty of candy. You usually get to monopolize Amane, so candy is enough.”

Kanau-kun said in a sullen voice and placed the stolen duck on top of my head.

Alice then began to tremble in anger.

“Iori-chan! Can I kill this guy!?”

“Alice-chan! I’ll lend you my strength!”

After that, their barrage strengthened.

It wasn’t very effective, he was well over 180cm(<5’9ft).

“Quack quack.”

Kanau-kun said and then- – –

“Woahhh!”

A third duck suddenly appeared from the paper bag.

“Amane-chan, I know a general store with plenty of Duck-san goods. We should go.”

“Duck-san merchandise!?”

“There are mugs, key chains, straps, etc.”

“I want to go!”

“Well then, come over here and let’s go.”

“Woo!”

While holding the stuffed duck towards me, as if luring me, Kanau-kun began to walk away, and I quickly followed him.

“Onee-chan is being kidnapped!”

“I’m really sorry! My brother is a real idiot!”

Alice and Iori-chan shared an exchange as they continued their fight.

“Quack quack, Amane-chan, this way.”

Kanau-kun continued to talk in his “cutesy” voice, completely ignoring Iori-chan and Alice.

Yellow duck mug. I could drink coffee with a mug that puts me at ease.

While hugging the two stuffed ducks, I followed Kanau-kun.
