Alice and Arisu Became Amane and Iris

Yurizono-san eats her pasta with her mouth covered in a sticky mess.

“Hey! Wipe your mouth!”

Alice, who was sitting opposite Yurizono-san, shouted at her.

“This puffta ishh dhehihiuss!”

Yurizono-san, who looked as if she didn’t care about the sticky mess around her mouth, shouted out to Alice with a big smile on her face.

“Oh, my God!”

As if she couldn’t stand to see it, Alice got up from her seat and sat down next to Yurizono-san, wiping her sticky mouth with a napkin.

Yurizono-san, who was holding a spoon and fork, didn’t put up any particular resistance and let Alice wipe her mouth.

The two of them were at an Italian restaurant.

After playing in the park for a while, the two of them seemed to have decided to have lunch.

And Iris-san and I are in the same restaurant.

But I was surprised. I was surprised to see that Alice was taking such good care of Yurizono-san.

She was always taking care of Yurizono-san when they were playing in the park, and now that she’s eating pasta, she’s wiping Yurizono-san’s mouth.

“I’m sure you have Amane-san blood running through your veins as well, Alice-san.”

Iris-san, who had been gazing at the two of us happily, smiled and muttered when she saw me.

I thought I knew everything about Alice, but the Alice I see now is the Alice I never knew.

I’m very happy about that, but also a little sad.

It’s not my fault that I feel sad when I see Alice’s growth.

“I’m thirsty!”

Yurizono-san suddenly shouted, and Alice let out a sigh with her eyes.

“Okay, okay. What do you want to drink?”

Alice, who has her cup with Yurizono-san, asks Yurizono-san with a sigh.

“It’s the Arisu Special!”

“ha?”

“It’s the ultimate drink, a perfect blend of Arisu favorite juices in perfect proportions!”

“What’s that? I don’t know anything about that.”

“Onee-chan does.”

“I’m not your onee-chan.”

Yurizono-san’s expression tightened and she desperately appealed, while Alice muttered with a dumbfounded stare.

And there, unexpectedly, Iris-san left her seat.

“Arisu-chan is calling for me.”

This is the first time I’ve ever seen such a thing.

“No, Iris-san, you can’t go!”

I grabbed her hand and asked her in a whisper, but she didn’t stop. She seemed to have forgotten herself.

I thought about what to do, and then I remembered something.

“Iris-chan, listen to your onee-chan. If you don’t listen to me, I’ll get mad.”

Driven by shame, I told Iris-san.

She stopped and looked at me, her cheeks flushed.

“Y-Yes, onee-chan.”

She replied happily, walked up to me, and hugged me tightly.

Hey, we’re in a store here, Iris-san.

“Hey, hey, I hear they’re sisters.”

“Isn’t the onee-chan younger?”

“Also, my onee-chan has silver hair.”

“Well, you know, there are all kinds of sisters in this world.”

“It’s too much to ask for…”

The girls sitting next to us were whispering to each other, glancing at us.

I also think that it’s a bit of a stretch to set up me and Iris-san as sisters, and Iris-san as the younger sister.

After dinner, they went to see a movie.

“Wha!? Hey, we have to go to the cinema soon!”

It was Yurizono-san who invited Alice to the movie, but the important thing was that Yurizono-san wandered off to the shopping mall, and Alice was in a chaotic situation, worrying about the movie time and getting impatient.

“Oh! I think that dress looks good on you!”

“Don’t call me ‘you’! I don’t want you to call me ‘you’!”

Alice gets angry when Yurizono-san calls her you.

“Then what should I call you?”

When Yurizono-san asked that question, Alice puzzled over it.

I’ve never seen the two of them call each other by their first names.

But I guess that’s true. Their names are.

It’s “Alice and Arisu.”

(TN: Reminder, Alice (ありす) and Arisu (アリス) both spelled “Alice”. Previous TL changes one of them so it’s not confusing.)

Neither of them is the kind of character who calls our friends by their first names, and if they did, they’re calling them by their names.

I guess that’s why they end up calling each other “you”, “you”, and “idiot”.

(TN: you (あんた), and you (お前). One is more polite and one is more disrespectful)

Alice was troubled and worried.

If she calls her by her first name, she can’t tell the difference, so she has to call her by her last name, but she doesn’t want to do that.

“Yes! I’ve got a good idea!”

Suddenly, Yurizono-san raised her voice and Alice jumped.

“What’s a good idea…?”

A jittery Alice asks Yurizono-san.

“How about if we borrow each other’s onee-chan name only when we are alone?”

At Yurizono-san suggestion, Alice’s eyes lit up.

I don’t know how you come up with the idea of borrowing your onee-chan name.

“Oh my, Arisu-chan!”

Iris-san, who had been silently watching the two of us, happily dyed her cheeks and tugged on my arm.

“Y-You borrowed your onee-chan name, then I’m…”

“It’s Amane.”

Yurizono-san answered Alice who mumbled. When she heard the answer, Alice’s face instantly turned bright red.

“I-I’m Amane…”

“That’s right. And I’m Iris. This is easy to understand, and we are both happy.”

“We are both happy.” Iris-san’s eyes widened when she heard Yurizono-san’s words.

Yurizono-san, who had been pretending to be indifferent to her onee-chan, borrowed Iris-san’s name and said she was happy.

It was truly a moment when a tsundere became a dere.

Iris-san covered her mouth with her hand, tears spilling from her red eyes, her thin shoulders trembling as she struggled to keep her voice down.

I put my hand on her shoulder and gently pulled her into my embrace.

She hugged me back and buried her face in my shoulder without saying a word.

I’m so happy for you, Iris-san. Your sister seems to love you.

“Shall we call each other then?”

Yurizono-san, who had no way of knowing that her sister was crying with joy, asked Alice so.

“Well, okay, but…”

Alice, her cheeks stained with gaze, crosses her arms and replies with pouting lips.

“Amane.”

So Yurizono-san called out to Alice, and Alice’s face turned completely red.

“Wha, wha, what is it, Iris?”

Alice, though bright red, somehow managed to call out to Yurizono-san.

Yurizono-san, who was called Iris, averted her gaze with dyed cheeks and scratched her cheeks with her fingers in embarrassment.

The awkward, yet strangely sweet and sour air that flows between the two of them.

“I-I think we should get to the movies, Iris.”

“Y-Yes, Amane.”

After an embarrassing conversation, they looked away from each other, nodded at each other, and――.

“I-I’m worried about you, so I’ll hold your hand.”

“T-Thank you so much.”

Alice raised her voice as she held out her right hand, and Yurizono-san, who nodded, gently took Alice’s hand in hers.

They were both red-faced and refused to look at each other, but they walked off in perfect sync.

They’re both so cute.

While I was thinking about this, I gently stroked Iris-san’s head, who was crying with her face buried in my shoulder.
