I'm Not Sure If Things Are Going Well or Not

Alice, Yurizono-san, and I walk down the corridor on the third floor where the third-grade classrooms are located.

Since lunch break had just started, only a few students were walking in the hallway.

They were probably eating their lunch.

However, students are going to the restroom, going to the cafeteria, and eating their lunches outside the classroom, so more than a few students are walking around.

As I passed a student walking down the hallway, I lightly bowed to her.

“……?”

The female student looked at me, tilted her head, and then――.

“…eh?”

She looked at me twice and shouted in astonishment.

“Hey, hey, hey! Why is Amane-chan on the third floor? There’s also a double Alice!”

The senior’s eyes are black and white, and she’s screaming.

“Good day.”

Alice greets her, raising her hand lightly with a frown.

As expected of Alice. I’m sure she’s not fazed by the noise.

“We’re going to raid the third-grade classroom!”

Yurizono-san raises her hands in the air with a wow and says something outrageous.

No, it’s not! It’s not a raid! I never said that, did I? You idiot!

“You idiot!”

“Ofuuuu!”

Alice slapped Yurizono-san’s head, and Yurizono-san stuck her hands out in front of her, tripping her up.

It’s like a comedy act.

“Oh, um, senpai. It’s not like I’m punching in.”

“Y-Yes, yes it is! Ahahaha!”

I tried to explain to my senior to clear up the misunderstanding, but she was laughing dryly, stammering, with her eyes shaking violently and a twitching smile on her face.

No, this is no good. Maybe she can’t hear me at all.

“What’s going on――Aah!”

“What’s the matter――Aah!”

“Wait, what’s going on――Aah!”

As soon as the students came out of the classroom and saw us, their expressions became more and more shocked.

“Why is Amane-chan on the third floor? And double Alice!”

“Amane-chan has never been on the third floor before, has she?”

“D-Don’t tell me, she’s here to see the vice-president?”

The students who came out of the classroom were all shouting.

I was expecting a certain amount of commotion, but this is not good.

If it gets too loud, the teacher might come and send us back to our own classrooms to quell the commotion.

If that happened, I wouldn’t be able to talk to the student council president.

We’ll have to come back after school.

“Everyone, please calm down!”

A clear voice rang out, and the crowded hallway gradually became quiet.

“Excuse me. Please let me through.”

With that voice, the crowd broke and the vice president appeared. The student council president was behind him.

“It’s the vice president.”

“It’s the vice president.”

“Is he going to confess again?”

A whispered conversation could be heard.

The students in the room are all looking at the vice president with an expectant look on their faces.

The vice-president is the focus of a lot of attention from the students, but as expected, he walks towards me without any hesitation.

Then, after a short distance from me, he stops.

“Minazuki Amane-san, do you have a request for the student council president?”

The vice president raises his glasses with his fingers and asks me that question.

Most of the gathered students seem to think it’s related to the last confession fiasco, but the vice president seems to be different.

“Yes. I’m here to talk to the student council president.”

When I said this to the vice president, he raised his glasses with his fingers and smiled. He then turned around and looked at the crowd of students.

“That’s right.”

The vice president raised his voice to the students.

When the students found out that my goal was not the vice president, but the student body president, they were blatantly disappointed and went back to their respective classrooms.

Thankfully, the vice president was able to control the situation.

“What can I do for you?”

A voice rang out, and the vice president quickly stepped aside.

The student council president walked proudly down the middle of the hallway.

She was not big, but rather slender. Even though she’s smiling, she had a distinctly different air from the other students.

I guess you could call it a sense of presence.

I could feel the weight of someone who has stood in front of a large group of students as a representative of the students and expressed their opinions without hesitation.

I gulped and swallowed my spit.

“Since we’re here, why don’t we go to the student council room?”

The student council president stopped and said with a smile.

The president led me to the student council room.

“Come in.”

When we arrived at the student council room, the vice president, who had been walking behind the president, quickly stepped forward and opened the door.

“I-I’m not making him do this, just so you know! I’m telling him to stop, but he won’t!”

The president turned around and raised her voice, her face turning red.

She seemed to be trying to say that she wasn’t making him do it, that the vice president was acting like a servant.

The Vice President raised his glasses with his fingers and smiled at the reddened President.

I’m sure you enjoy watching him get in trouble, vice president.

Regardless, I was relieved to see the president turning red and embarrassed.

I had been worried that I wouldn’t be able to speak properly under the pressure of the president’s dignity, but now I felt a little better.

“Please come inside.”

The president, who was staring at the vice president with a red face, said so and entered the student council room.

“Excuse me.”

It was the first time I had ever been in a student council room, and I was very nervous as I entered.

I had jokingly thought that the student council room would have big, luxurious desks and chairs for the student council president, but the room looked like an office.

Three desks for office use, a long table, and a pipe chair. The walls were lined with bookshelves that were crammed with tons of papers.

It was tidy, but not exactly spacious, with cardboard boxes and wardrobe cases piled up.

“Please take a seat.”

She went to the office desk in front of us and sat down on a chair.

We sat down on the pipe chairs that were lined up near the long table.

The last person to enter the room, the vice president, closed the door and stood with an upright posture next to the door.

“Just so you know, I’m not making him do this.”

The president mutters to himself as she stares at the vice president who refuses to sit down, and the vice president smiles as he raises his glasses with his fingers.

The president seemed to want to say something, but she put her fist to her mouth and coughed with a bright red face without saying anything.

“So, if I may be so bold as to assume that you’re here to talk about Takanashi-san…”

The president’s face was still red, but her expression tightened and she raised her voice.

She seemed to have anticipated my purpose to some extent when I came to see her.

“I did not expect you to move so quickly.”

The president smiled at me.

During the incident with the vice president, the president had spoken to me. And now she said, ‘I didn’t think you would move so quickly.’

In other words, she knew that I would make a move sooner or later.

I’m impressed.

Also, the reason I came to see the president was definitely related to Takanashi-san, but it was a little different.

I stood up and looked straight at the president.

“I have a lot to tell you. But first, I would like to tell you my intentions. I’m going to run for secretary in the next student council election.”

I turned to the president and said my opinion.

She smiled and tilted her head.

“Eh?”

The Chairman raised her voice and tilted her head.

She didn’t get the message?

“W-Wait, wait. Amane-chan is in the student council? What? Running for one of the three positions in the student council? Amane-chan?”

The president’s smile twitched, and she shouted shakily, sweat coming out.

The vice-president standing next to the door is also sweating profusely as he pushes his glasses up with his fingers.

What is this reaction? I thought she would be happy to see me, but I guess I was too egotistical.

As I was getting impatient, Alice and Yurizono-san stood up and glared at the president.

“You have something against onee-chan?”

Her blue eyes were filled with deadly energy as she glared at the president as she wants to kill her.

“What’s with that reaction? Are you picking a fight? I’m not going to let it away if you picking a fight Amane-san.”

Yurizono-san’s red eyes were filled with deadly energy as she glared down at the president and raised her voice.

This is not good. The two of them are about to lose their temper.

“There is no such thing as a complaint. And I’m not even picking a fight. It’s just that it was so unexpected.”

The president, who was under the full weight of the two girl’s killing energy, grinned instead of being frightened.

“To get Takanashi-san into the mood, I thought it would be a good idea to talk to Amane-chan about it. It would be ideal if Takanashi-san would be willing to join. It would have been great if Amane had joined the student council with me, but she’s not the type of person who would willingly go out in public, so I gave up on that halfway.”

The president stood up as she spoke plainly.

Both Alice and Yurizono-san, who had been on the edge of their seats, were silently listening to the president.

“I believe that Takanashi-san is the right person to be the next student council president. Moreover, she has a great weapon. The weapon of having a powerful connection to the immensely influential Minazuki Amane. I thought that would be enough. I knew that if Takanashi-san became the student council president, Amane-chan would definitely support her from behind the scenes, without forcing Amane-chan to join the student council. And yet, I never thought that Amane-chan would come out in the open…”

Then the president began to tremble.

“Hmm, that’s a very good point.”

Alice crossed her arms, sniffed, and raised her voice.

“I understand that you not picking a fight with Amane-san. I’m going to grant you special permission this time.”

Yurizono-san put her hands on her hips and raised her voice in a pompous manner.

Both of you, the other person is a senior and also the student council president. How can you act so high and mighty?

“What are you going to do, Minazuki Alice and Yurizono Arisu?”

The trembling president asked them in a stifled voice.

“It’s obvious.”

“It’s obvious!”

They both shouted at the same time and put their hands on my arms, also at the same time.

“Double Alice is!”

“Will be with Minazuki Amane!”

The two of them raise their voices without hesitation.

I’m a little embarrassed.

“Hmmm… this is a hell of a thing.”

The president, hugged himself to suppress her body trembling, grinned, and muttered quietly.

I was nervous because I thought they would object me to become a secretary, but it seems like they’re expecting too much from me, and that’s a bit of a problem.
