Where You Are

I look at myself and I start thinking that putting on a red dress that compliments my figure with golden high heels and a designer bag was a bit much. Min-Joon even asked those women to do my hair and make-up.

The women decided to leave my hair curly, because they thought it was beautiful and just use some products to lower down the frizz. The make-up was subtle, but I couldn't believe that the person in the mirror was me.

"You look so beautiful miss" one of them says. They all applaud.

"You should go show off how pretty you look to the young master" another one said. I didn't understand why I should.

"He's your boyfriend after all" the other one said. Oh goodness no, it's not like that at all. I want to clear the misunderstanding, but they all pushed me out my bedroom and called out to Min-Joon that I was ready. He came up the stairs with Secretary Chang. Min-Joon just stared while secretary Chang applauded.

"Wow, really beautiful. You look beautiful Hannah" secretary Chang said "Great work girls" the girls behind me bowed with smiles. I felt a bit uncomfortable that Min-Joon didn't say anything. Somehow his feedback mattered more to me than the girls or secretary Chang, but he isn't saying anything, he just looked away.

Secretary Chang hits him on the back. Min-Joon looks at secretary Chang angrily, then turns to face me, does a slight nod then walks back down the stairs. As he walks down, I feel kind of bad. I would have at least liked a 'nice' or a 'pretty.'

"Good job" he says without turning his head to look at me. The girls behind me start squealing.

"He was so overwhelmed that he couldn't say anything"

"He thought she was so beautiful that he couldn't even say the words"

These girls sure like to talk about what they don't understand. He obviously felt like he was put on the spot and he doesn't like that. He already has his grandmother breathing down his neck also he keeps getting attacked by his cousin and his uncle. Saying I look pretty…it shouldn't matter to me.

When I go downstairs Min-Joon is already waiting for me in the backseat of the car with the door open to my side.

The drive to work felt long since no one talked. I felt so awkward. After a while we arrive at work. I exit the car and look at the building in front of me. LV Entertainment. It looks so big. I see some people enter the building with briefcases, backpacks or big bags, all of them are dressed business casual. Comparing myself to them, I look like a red dot in a sea of grey. I'm attracting too much attention. I want to get back in the car and drive away.

"I feel I'm a bit overdressed for work" I tell Min-Joon.

He looks at me and says "You look fine" he said.

"No, I look like I'm going to a club trying to pick up guys. The moment I step in there, people are going to be staring at me and later start talking shit about me" I say.

"Do you really care about what other people think of you that much?" he asked with a disappointed tone in his voice.

"When it comes to first impressions, yes" I say as I try to keep the atmosphere light "Why can't you just leave me at home?" I ask him, pouting.

"I need to keep an eye on you" he said. I gasp loudly. Min-Joon looks around, a few people are staring. He smiles awkwardly at them.

"You planned this with Secretary Chang, didn't you?" I ask, "Why am I suddenly feeling betrayed?" Min-Joon tries to touch me but seems not to know whether it's a good idea or not so he just puts his finger over his mouth.

"Can you talk lower, please?" He asks me. I look at him shocked. He asked me if I cared about what other people think, looking all disappointed at me when he also cares about others opinions. This man contradicts even himself.

He takes the bag I have crossed over my body and pulls on it, so I move forward. I can't escape this. When we get inside people's eyes are quickly on the both of us. This is so embarrassing. When Min-Joon passes someone they quickly bow. I feel the need to bow as well, even if Min-Joon doesn't.

This is going to be a long day. I just know it.
