Chapter 38: The Führer and the Postwar Conference

Yamato Calendar 12 December Year 304

It had been several weeks since we had ended the war with Beastvania, and the peace conference went smoother than I had expected.

For some reason that the Beastvania prince, Leon-kun, was it?

He’s surprisingly obedient… I mean, he pretty much listened to everything I said with a dumbfounded look on his face.

Besides, we were not imposing particularly harsh conditions on them, so the discussion was going well.

Although not officially a friendly nation, the Beastvania Beastkin Nation could be treated as one of our trading partners.

……Well, I am concerned about the fact that Leon-kun was staring at my thighs so much. Don’t tell me you’re one of those perverts like the people in my country?

Well, then…

I’ve been very busy in the last few days since I got back to the mainland.

Upon returning home, I immediately had to attend a massive victory parade. Both the Army and Marine Divisions that played an active role in the campaign are marching triumphantly through the Imperial City under the cheers of the people.

In the evening, a ball is held at the Führer’s Palace. Politicians, investors, and military officers gather for the celebrations.

But even after that, as soon as I went out for a stroll in the city, the people would even take out placards that say, “Long live the Führer! Victory to your beautiful thighs!” How could they possibly be so desperately praising my thigh…

I can’t help but wonder if there is a profession that specializes in praising my thighs.

While spending such days…

Now that things have settled down a bit, it’s time for the Imperial Council to address various post-war issues.

The place is the usual meeting room of the Führer’s Palace.

It’s the usual meeting with all the ministers and military officers and the like. The number of participants is… about 20 people?

When I have a meeting with these stern old men, I feel like, “I guess I’ve made it home.”

Nothing has changed since then, and these old men are still staring at my thighs.

For what it’s worth, the front line was a breeze.

There were fewer old men who were pestering me for favors, and there were fewer people who were staring at me as if they were going to lick my thighs; on the contrary, I didn’t have much to do with the work itself.

Most of the fighting was left to the soldiers, who seemed to get on their tanks and go rampaging when necessary.

But I had to say goodbye to those days for a while.

Now that I have returned to the mainland, I have to do my part as ‘Eryutheia’.

I have to attend the meetings earnestly, dealing with a bunch of old uncles, in addition, I have to make sure to keep Ayame-san in a good mood.

That being said, the first thing to do is…

“First of all, everyone. Let’s celebrate the end of the war.”

It’s to celebrate our victory in the war.

……After saying, “Cheers!” everyone stood up and began to cheer, “Long live the Führer” and “Long live the thighs.”

I am waving my hands up in the air with a frantic look on my face.

Geez, I won’t ever do this again. There are a lot of times when I still think, “What’s with the long live thighs, these perverts,” but everyone seems to be having a good time.

Then.

“Over the past few months, the market for our empire in the world has expanded even further.”

“It is as you say, Your Excellency. The current sphere of influence of our empire is the Empire’s mainland, the Manchuria continent, the Kingdom of Balka, and the Beastvania Beastkin Nation.”

The one who answers me is the Prime Minister… What’s with the bald head? Hmm? Was he always like this?

“Eryu-san, it’s the same person.”

“But the last time I saw him a while ago, his hair was…”

“He’s bald due to stress.”

Is that so? While I was thinking, Ayame-san explained it to me in my ear… I am not good at remembering people’s faces.

Is there a problem? The Prime Minister looks at me with that sort of face and then says, “No, no, it’s not a problem,” which I handle with a smile.

……Let’s get him a wig next time.

And so, It’s been more than half a year since I was transferred to this world.

Our sphere of survival has expanded considerably. However, the only country we have managed to bring to its knees is Beastvania…

“Prime Minister, you forgot to mention the United Kingdom of Albatross.”

With that having been mentioned… Who said that?

“He’s the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eryu-san.”

Oh, that person is the Minister of Foreign Affairs? Hmm, I think I heard that before… It was like a sort of deja vu.

“Pardon my interruption. Your Excellency, we have actually succeeded in making contact with a new nation, and detailed information is in your files.”

Is that so?

Then I take a look at the documents that are spread out in front of me.

Uh, let’s see, what’s it about? United Kingdom of Albatross.

Up until now, it has been difficult to make contact with this country because it was located beyond the Dark Elf Empire.

The Beastvania War allowed us to secure the base at Ieneko Island on the eastern continent, which means that the scope of exploration for our ships has been expanded, and we have finally been able to make contact with them.

With a population of…

A staggering 100 million!

“Your Excellency, even though they have a population of 100 million, as the name of the United Kingdom implies, they are a group consisting of several nations. Each individual nation in itself is not that large.”

“Thanks for the explanation, Prime Minister.”

……So, it’s a collective of nations like the European Union? Their overall territory seems to be about the same size as Western Europe.

Well, I’ll deal with that place later.

If we include this nation, the Empire’s sphere of influence would now be around 300 million people.

However, the market shortage has not yet been resolved…

“Now regarding our food situation… That said, did you lose weight, Ishiba-san?”

“It’s Ishizawa from the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce, Your Excellency. Yes, thanks to you, I managed to lose some weight as a result of my diet.”

Oh, excuse me. I made a mistake with the name…

I mean, Ishibashi-san really lost a lot of weight, didn’t he? He was so round and fat at the meeting right after the transfer, but after not seeing him for a while, he became a shapely dandy uncle…

It seems that the food situation in the Empire is not so good if he can lose so much weight.

“Ahem, so what about the food situation?”

“In that regard, as far as we are concerned, the situation is almost solved from the standpoint that people are not going to starve. But only so far as people don’t starve.”

We barely made it somehow. There is truly no room for leeway at all.

Although we have established friendly relations, the Balka Kingdom is still under threat from the Moruro Empire, and even if we were to extort post-war compensation from Beastvania, they are still a poor country, to begin with.

It is not possible to get a lot of food from the Manchuria continent, which has just begun to develop.

“Speaking of which, Eryu-san.”

“Yes, yes, what is it, Ayame-san?”

“In Manchuria, the ‘Mystery Meat Factory’ under the jurisdiction of the Imperial Guard has officially begun its operations.”

“…Mysterious meat?”

That’s an unfamiliar term. Well, it’s probably not a good thing if the Imperial Guard is involved.

“To put it simply, it’s canned food made from processed monster meat obtained from Manchuria Continent.”

Then, Ayame-san explains things like goblins and orcs.

 ……Monster’s Meat.

That’s right, there are monsters in Manchuria, and there are army units and hunters from the mainland in the midst of a hunting expedition.

Since the monster’s corpse is meat, naturally, it can be eaten.

Yes, I understand it in my head.

“I don’t want to eat it, things like monsters.”

To be honest, it’s disgusting.

“Rest assured, it is primarily for export to Beastvania. With this, it should be fine to rake in the food from that country.”

So you’re saying we buy up decent food and then shove monster meat on them? That’s some terrible talk.

“It’s a brilliant use of all your precious resources, as one would expect from the Chief of the Imperial Guard, Ayame-sama.”

I can’t believe that the politicians are flattering Ayame-san.

Well, anyway. I don’t know what monster meat tastes like, but I don’t think it’s going to be immediately harmful to your health.

That said, we can’t cheat our food situation by exporting monster meat forever…

“Considering the future, I would like to see the markets of the Dark Elf Empire and the Great Moruro Empire opened up as well.”

“Leave it to us, Your Excellency, our elite army will crush any nation!”

At my words, the bald glasses guy from the army stood up immediately and thumped his chest enthusiastically.

Yup, the army guy is still as energetic as ever, glad to see you are doing so well. He still has the same bald glasses and I find his face easy to remember.

“The same goes for the Navy. The Imperial Navy has already deployed the 2nd Fleet to Ieneko Island, ready to further expand its sphere of influence in the East.”

And what of you, crew cut guy from the navy…If I remember correctly, you are the Chief of the Navy General Staff, right? I can’t even remember your name, let alone your position.

Come to think of it, Ieneko Island is now officially under the control of the Yamato Empire. So-called cession.

……I mean, it seems that Beastvania Central was unaware of the existence of this island.

As a medieval country that did not even have proper maps, it seems that the treatment of small islands on the border was very crude.

Even when we discussed the post-war status of Ieneko Island, they were like, “Where exactly is this place?” Something like that…

They easily agreed to concede the island to us. Should I take this opportunity to change the name of the island and call it ‘Truck Island’?

And it’s a Navy base.

Oh well, I’ll deal with that later…

Alright, so after this, I’ll have a talk with each of the Army and Navy, I guess?

After all, a discussion regarding the Dark Elf Empire and the Great Moruro Empire, which are already at war with friendly nations, is something that cannot be avoided.

Military coordination will be essential.

Besides, there are many things I would like to discuss about the new weapon.

……The question is, who should I be talking to first, the Army or the Navy? There is a lot of hassle on this side.

Personally, I want to give priority to the Navy, but if I always give priority to the Navy, the Army guys will probably be unhappy.

Yup, let’s go with the Navy, after all.
