Chapter 20.3 – The Balcony

From Su Yan’s angle, she couldn’t see Bai Xingfan’s profile, and she could only see his left hand. She also noticed that since getting in the car, Bai Xingfan had been clenching his hands tightly; the white skin on the back of his hands was tight, and the blue blood vessels were clearly visible.

At first, she was quite puzzled as to why he was clenching his hands all the time. ‘Could it be because the air conditioner in the car is too cold? But it didn’t seem that cold.’ She didn’t feel cold in a short-sleeved blouse, not to mention he was wearing a suit and leather shoes.

It wasn’t until she accidentally saw her mother that she finally had the answer.

Sighing helplessly, she leaned into her mother’s ear and complained in a low voice, “Why do you keep staring at him? It makes him feel uncomfortable.”

Liu Xiang snorted coldly and replied in a low voice, ” He is guilty and nervous!”

‘What is there to be guilty of?’ Su Yan thought with doubt.

Su Zhan was relatively close to the two of them, vaguely heard the conversation between his mother and sister, and asked very curiously, “Who is nervous? Who is guilty?”

Su Yan: “…”

Liu Xiang: “… ”

“You’re going back to school tomorrow, why are you nervous? Hey, didn’t you do your homework?” Su Yan glanced at the co-pilot before glaring at Silly Baitian fiercely and fighting the impulse to throw him out of the car.

“I, I, I don’t have any homework this week,” said Su Zhan, looking innocently. Then he remembered something, leaned on towards the co-pilot seat, and said to Bai Xingfan, “I have to go to school on Monday, Brother Bai. I can’t come with you. I’m going to school.”

“Okay.” Bai Xingfan agreed and instructed the driver, saying, “Go to Dongfu University first.”

“Then we’ll also get off there,” Su Yan quickly added.

Su Zhan: “Ah? What about tonight? Where are you two staying?”

Su Yan: “Aren’t there many hotels next to your school?”

Su Zhan was silent for a moment. “I heard from my roommate that the sound insulation is not very good there. I sincerely advise you not to go.”

Su Yan: “…”

Bai Xingfan turned around, looked back at Liu Xiang, and asked gently, “Auntie, where do you want to go? If you don’t want to go to my house, you can go to my hotel.”

Liu Xiang: “How much is a room in your hotel?”

Bai Xingfan: “Ten thousand.”

Liu Xiang’s eyes widened. “For one night?”

Bai Xingfan: “I won’t take your money.”

Liu Xiang: “That’s not okay!”

Bai Xingfan: “You can also choose to go to my house, I’m not usually at home.”

Liu Xiang thought for a while. ” Let’s go to your house then.”

Bai Xingfan replied with a smile, “Okay.”

Su Yan: “???”

As Su Yan was listening to the conversation between her mother and Bai Xingfan, she felt that from the beginning, Bai Xingfan had the intention of taking them to his house. He just waited for a suitable time to dig a hole for her mother to jump in, and she successfully completed his mission. Now their only option was to go with him.

‘Treacherous!’ Su Yan was aggrieved in her heart, but she couldn’t expose Bai Xingfan in public, and could only feel aggrieved in her heart.

The black Maybach vehicle arrived ten minutes later and parked in front of Dongfu University’s west gate. Su Yan sternly warned Su Zhan not to answer the phone if their father called and not to tell him where she and their mother were staying.

“Don’t worry, I won’t ever betray the organisation,” Su Zhan swore.

After Su Zhan got out of the car, the Maybach started up again, and fifteen minutes later, the familiar Swan Lake reappeared before Su Yan’s eyes.

The sun was still shining, and the white, three-story villa perched atop the mountain was as graceful as a swan with outstretched wings.

Su Yan sighed as the car rolled up to the manor’s gate, feeling as though fate was teasing her, going in circles and bringing her back again, just as her sadness and unwillingness to leave had been a joke.

Su Yan and Bai Xingfan exited the vehicle simultaneously after the driver had parked it in front of the villa’s main entrance. Su Yan rolled her eyes at Bai Xingfan prior to her mother exiting the vehicle.

Bai Xingfan nodded slightly. “Welcome Miss Su back.”

Su Yan rolled her eyes this time, almost to the sky.

Bai Xingfan smiled helplessly.
