Chapter 92

Amono and Harfiet

Intro: At the current time, the evening in the Amahaon residence, inside her bed, surrounded by disarrayed file of dresses, dolls, and garments, Yaume Mea cheerfully listens to her mother, Frehviesa, sitting in her bed,

"Don't be so rebellious my child. The queen will get angry if you harm yourself. It's not your time to be wandering around. You still need to develop yourself. You will cause me worries too if you do something unsatisfactory at your current age."

"But, my highness wants me follow my dreams. She said that I need to be strong." She has stood. "Teach me how to be strong. Please, mom! I want to be strong and punch the bad guys and put them to jail."

My child, if only you know. I can't allow you to follow Jesifer's footstep. The path of bloodshed if things doesn't go the right way. How can I pursued you to give up? But it's hard to tell the truth. You're still little. "Let see, if you can really do things right when you are alone. I'll ask you a question. What will you do, if you found a thief?"

"I'll knock him, ask him to return the stolen, and deliver him to the officer."

"Now now, my dear, if you see someone getting bullied?"

"I shall go defend the victim and tell those bullies about their wrong doing."

"If they'll attack you?"

"I'll teach them a lesson!"

"If I become a monster? What will you do?"

"No way, mom is not a monster! Seriously, why do you ask some strange thing?" The child, Yaume, closes her eyes and inserts her hands below her each opposite armpits.

"But, I did."

Seeing her mother with huge sorrowful eyes, faces covered with blood, yellow wish teeth and a long tongue, the child herself is shocked and frozen.

See, so don't be rebellious at your age. You can't even handle this kind of hideous thing. So be obedient and grow.

Her child runs to the door. And outside she yells, "Father! Father help! Mama is hurt! Father! Faster! Faster father! Someone!" She cries.

Holding her face, Frehviesa removes her mascara. Some of their servants have responded running. "What is happening?" "What's with the ruckus?"

"Faster, mama is hurt! There, inside—" to only find, standing outside the door, her mother is doing well. The child runs and hugs her mother. "Mama." She cries.

"Ma'am, what is really happened?" has asked by her servant.

"No, it's fine. Sorry for the ruckus, you can go back to your room." I guess. I will make Jaino's first student as my daughter's tutor. Her who hasn't tainted by bloodshed is rightful enough. I believe her name is Duwyn Storm...

—End of Intro.

Flashback to when Amono helped Jaino to escape from Kilie in Deep Forest 02: The gathering gray clouds have its rainfall. And the roaring thundering, its sound scatters abruptly in the sky. Ka'el Em'tis has left the wide plain, located south of Jelfyr. With the success of his intention, his message he has finally given to Jesifer, the current queen of Dandia's sole kingdom.

A half month is to be waited.

Bathing in the rain, the queen, Jesifer— surrounded by Maritis, the commander of the castle guards, and the castle guards themselves —she holds both of her elbows. The memories about her mother are swirling inside her mind.

Recalling her and her brother's conversation, about the truth of Dandia's rulers, Jesifer's emotion saddens. Yet, somewhere in the other part of Dandia, in the area named Deep Forest, the curtain of a certain event has raised.

Continually raining, under a lone huge tree, the children have made shelter. Jena's foot steps to a soft and slippery object. It squashes. Some of its sticky fluids land onto her other leg. A cold has run on her skin. Her body shivers. She yells, "Ew! What is this thing?"

Her brother explains, "Those are squashed yellow bulb fruit. They probably had fallen from this tree after they were over ripe. Look, they're plenty around here."

The man, cloaked with worn white cloth, Amono Hestia, settles the four huge reptiles a distance from the children. He gazes at Jena who asks to her brother, "Bro, are those fruit ripe?" Her brother follows her finger and he gazes at the tree branches. "I want some."

Her brother replies, "Leave it to me." To the tree, he climbs. He hears Amono's voice,

"Be careful that you will not fall down. Some part of those branches might be slippery."

"Aye." Without fear, his fingers he digs to a narrow hallow surface of the trunk, he then grips tightly. He continues going up. To a branch, he climbs and sits. He has stood and his hands he reaches to another branch for support.

"Be careful brother! You're already up high!" has yelled by Jena.

With his hand he reaches to the couple bulbs of yellow fruits, he twists them separating from the bent branches. Those branches are swinging and slowly stabilizing. The boy one-handedly puts them each inside his pockets. He takes another fruit and he puts it inside on his other pocket. He climbs down. To his happy sister, he gives one fruit. He hands one to Amono. And he bites the last one.

Jena asks to her brother, "What about those reptiles brother?"

Amono responses, "No need for that. Look." With their long neck, those reptiles are eating the reachable fruits.

"Awesome," has remarked by the boy. Jena just nods.

Yet, in the distance, behind the shadow of surrounding trees, the watchful eyes from the gathering people are in surveillance. One of their men escorts a person, their boss, gesturing in an evil smile.

Sounds of clenched branches have aware Amono. "Children, behind me." His reptiles have stood on guard. His gaze is fiercely at the armed people surrounding them. To a person, he listens at him who speaks,

"Huh goodness. You're safe my children. Come over now to me. Don't be scared. I am your uncle, one of your relative." And to Amono he speaks, "I am their father's brother. And you're?"

"Amono."

"I'm leading a search and rescue for my missing family. And I finally able to see them."

"...no problem?" has replied by Amono.

"Good that you understand. Come over now, my nephew and niece," he has said to the shaken children.

Jena hugs her brother. Her brother mumbles, "La, lies. How, how could they be here."

The same person from the surrounding people, continues his words, "Young man, would you mind handing the children to me? I have been missing them and worried about their safety. My sincerest apologize for the trouble."

"Child," has spoken by Amono to Jena's brother. "It seems they are here to fetch you." He stares at the boy's eyes. "Is it goodbye?"

The boy trembles as well as Jena. On his thought, N-no... please... don't... I... I can't... I can't speak... I... I can't control my body from shaking... He looks at her sister whose situation the same. They're... they're what my parents were avoiding with...

To the man, Amono replies, "For their answers, I have been waiting. But why are you searching for them?"

"Why should I not? They were missing since two days had passed. I'd grown worried so I gathered a search party for this malicious forest. Now, if you may please." As his men begin to walk forward, the boy holds Amono's hand and he speaks two words at him, yet, unable to make a sound.

Two days, huh. Amono replies, "Let's do our best."

One man grabs Jena's arm. She cries aloud, "No! No! No! I don't wanna! Brother help!" Yet her brother is frozen in fear. One of the reptiles breathes flame to the man. Jena runs and hugs her brother. Closing her eyes, she mumbles, "I'm scared brother..." Those reptiles, on guard, roar intimidating the armed people.

To Amono, the man assumes himself as a relative of the children, he speaks, "What are you doing?"

"What am I doing? I might ask that back at you, Harfiet, an elite of the underworld."

"Huh?"

"I know a lot of you. And for me to meet you here. Destiny surely works mysteriously."

"Ha, what are you talking, about?"

"Do not pretend. You can't deceive me. An elusive and vicious person you are —and the very reason about the declining number of the sorses. I know. You have been draining out their blood without mercy to the point that the race is going extinct. It had been six years that we'd been tracking your hideouts. And we found out the very reason of your experiment."

The man grins. "Excellent!" He laughs loudly. "I wanna hear more of your statement."

"You were still not contented, are you? Despite of your effort bore fruit to some of those sorses that can heal people with their blood, you were draining out their lives for the sake of the undiscovered root of immortality."

"Amazing! Ha ha ha, amazing! You know a lot, young man."

Because you're the very reason of Jaino's wife, Misisa, her death for she halted her dream. Just after my investigation reached to her involvement about the case with her knowing nothing about the real source of those products. Also those people who had lost their lives for a nonsense reason. I can't forgive you. "You're trading illegal product of sorses blood to those adventurers, are you? Those adventurers, in the mystery cavern, are being deceived. They have trusted you. Not just the adventures in the mystery cavern, also those people who have grown accustom and live on its endless length and distorted area. You tainted their trust."

"Right at the point," has replied by the man. "You amused me young man. You expose me in my disguise by making me admit it. Yes. But you can't blame me. Ha ha ha ha. It is the certain truth from our ancestry. The strongest is the only one allowed to live in Dandia. Those people pretending to be adventures are just looking for a way to escape from this place. They are just afraid about the truth."

"Strongest," has mumbled by Amono. His fists he clenches. Feelings the anger boiling on his blood, to the man, he speaks, "You're nothing but a serial murderer. And evil, that should be buried in ground."

"Can you do it?"

Amono grabs his bolo knife. "I must."

A loud and long hissing discharges and its deafening sound roars the place. The wary armed people scrutinize their surroundings. But the pierce gaze of Amono and the man he has called Harfiet, is so fixated against each other. One member of the armed people is frightened and he points his finger at above the trees. Those armed people are terrified while staring at the massive size rocky-scaled serpent-like head peeking back at them.

Behind of Amono, Jena and her brother are concealing their presence. Yet both the children are terrified. The massive head above the trees glares back at them. Deciding to inform Amono about their situation, the frightened boy sees him ordering a reptile. That reptile breathes a thick dense of cold mist.

Running away from the chasing cold mist, Harfeit yells to his unwary men who are afraid of something. His frighten men are caught by the assault. Seeing the reptile has stopped the attack, he yells to his men, "What are you doing! Our opponent is there."

"But boss, look."

And above the trees, he looks. "What the hell is that?" One of his men throws fireballs on its body yet it doesn't budge. He swings his view and sees Amono and the children riding the reptiles are escaping. Some of his men follows the escapees. "You won't escape from me." His body deforms and increases its growth, ripping his clothes. Grey furs are overgrowing on his skin. His face becomes a wolf with its gaze fills with angriness. His paws with piercing claws are buried in the ground. He runs fast as fast as those reptiles. A chase begins.

Controlling his reptiles with his mind, Amono thinks, Dammit, this rain is a hindrance. I can't full their speed to the maximum limit. Good grief, my priority is to secure the safety of these children. To the side, he hears the children scream. Riding on the other reptile, the scared children distance themselves from the other person on board. One of his reptiles blows fire to the man. Rattled by the burn that man jumps out. And to a tree that man has slammed. Amono notices four people are chasing at him. With series of disappearance and appearance, they're blinking in the air. His ridden reptile brakes in a sudden. Those chasing people have went ahead. Heavy dense of cold mist burst from his reptile breathe, those pursuers have turn frozen. "Nice slide," has said by Amono. His reptile resumes running.

Back into the place where the looming massive serpent-like head is glaring at the curious armed people, men of Harfiet. That serpent-like head raises upward. Projecting its long body like a snake with sharp fins, its long body crawls out. The loud breaking sounds consecutively continue while the trees are bent out by force. The frightened armed people are helpless. Someone starts running and someone becomes frozen. Considering that some of them are already frozen by the cold mist breathed by Amono's reptile. The giant serpent, its long body surrounds the helpless people. From above, it glares at its preys.

Inside the forest, Harfiet, his form of a huge wolf, traces the path with his nose. Now that you know my identity. I can't let you be alive. I'll seek everyone that knows you. Gritting his teeth, he then runs forward.
