Chapter 65: The Physical Body Changes due to Occupation

In the end, Yuto could not complete 7,000 swings in one day.

That was to be expected.

The Updated Quest is labeled as a Weekly type Quest.

The difficulty of the Quest was not designed to be completed in a single day.

Even so, Yuto could almost clear the Quest in one day.

But trying to do so will mean that Yuto will only be doing that task for the whole day.

He would not be able to fit any other activities that day.

Training is most effective when you perform it continuously a little at a time each day.

After a good night’s sleep, Yuto woke up with minimal fatigue and went on his morning job.

He realized something after yesterday’s sword swinging session.

If he purely depends on Levels and Skills, then eventually, he will hit a wall.

In order to raise the fundamental physical strengths and abilities, Yuto decided to continue his fundamental strength training.

If he was to walk 500 meters (a little more than a quarter of a mile) each day, he could circle around the giant Kronos Labyrinth City with that distance.

In that year, between someone who walks and someone who doesn’t will have that much of a difference open up.

In all things, it’s the small efforts and habits that will ultimately make a difference.

After he was done jogging, he met with Eliz and Dannan, and they descended to the 16th Floor of the Base Dungeon.

Yuto: “Okay, let’s just go down a little at a time.”

Dannan: “Roger that.”

Eliz: “I understand, yes.”

The 15th Floor is still in the D-Rank realm of difficulty.

They don’t have to be so nervous, but they shouldn’t let their guard down.

Yuto gazes at Dannan who is leading the group, and takes out the Skill Board.

Yuto: (And that should do it.)

On the Party Formation Screen, Dannan is now added as a Party Member.

So now, even if Dannan does not attack, experience points will now go to Dannan automatically.

Eliz: “Ummm….Mr. Yuto?”

Yuto: “Hm? What’s wrong?” Ellz: “.......why am I with Pino?”

Eliz seems a little displeased as she looks up with her eyes.

On top of her head, Yuto’s tamed Monster Pino is sitting there proudly.

It looks like Pino really loves being on Eliz’ head right now.

Because of that experience, she’s not able to argue with Yuto.

Yuto: “He likes to sit on top of your head better.”

Although Eliz is upset, Yuto can’t help but smile.

Pino is currently positioned to be able to see in all directions and can respond to any sneak attacks accordingly.

Pino is doing what he can to protect Eliz to the best of his abilities.

From the week of Monster slaying, his Level has exponentially grown.

If it’s against a D-Rank Monster, Pino will be able to deflect almost all attacks.

Pino has transformed from a regular Slime to an adept specialized Shield Creature for protecting Eliz.

Dannan: “Yuto, Eliz, incoming.”

With Dannan’s warning, a Monster appears ahead of our group.

The Monster that appeared was a Spider that were about 1 meter large - the [Evil Spider].

Eliz: “ーーEEK?!”

Behind Yuto, Eliz jumps up in surprise.

Without noticing the change in Eliz, Yuto slides his right foot forward.

The next moment, he jumps with his full strength.

He draws his sword out in mid-air.

And slices with one swing as he passes by them.

As he lands on the ground past the Spider, the Spider’s body splits in two.

With the sword still in front of him, Yuto takes a moment to breathe.

Yuto: (........amazing. Even though my Level and Skill haven’t changed much, my movements are at least one rank higher than before.)

The change in Status due to receiving his Occupation went well beyond Yuto’s highest expectations.

From what Yuto can tell, the Skills with the plus sign advantages increase the Skill about 1 Level higher.

Yuto: (This……..is going to be a crucial aspect to all Adventurers going forward.)

The Occupation that affects your Status was something that most definitely could raise an Adventurer’s base strength.

As he was thinking about these things….

Dannan: “Yuto, watch out!”

Yuto: “ーーoh, that was close.”

With Dannan’s warning, Yuto jumped to the side.

Even if you slice a Monster into several pieces, until you confirm that it has died, you should never let your guard down.

She was crouched low at the edge of a hallway.

She held Pino and was shaking visibly.

She must have been holding Pino tightly because Pino was bent out of shape.

Pino sensed Yuto’s approach and turned towards Yuto.

As if to sigh deeply, Pino sent another message to Yuto.

It was his plea for help. Receiving such a message that was so human being-like, Yuto smiled slightly.

Yuto: “Eliz, the battle is over.”
